Congrats on the new bike! Totally agree, I couldn't find anything better for the price!! Interesting that you mentioned the overrun. That was a big part of what I noticed in the firmware update the local RM dealer did. Can't wait till you run this in mud and see if you get the same noises that I have experienced and Loam Wolf mentioned in their review. I have used my water bottle to spray out the upper motor sprocket and torque sprocket area.
My altitude a70 is an absolute weapon. Everyone I've let ride it has never not liked it. I put a coil on mine, 500 is miles already and no issues yet besides spoke tightening a couple times
I got the normal instinct carbon frame on sale and built it up with my own parts. Fantastic trail bike, its super light and climbs very well. Feels very fast and playful on the downhill. I also bought the link so I can convert it to an altitude if I ever feel the desire
To clarify, the Instinct Powerplay has the "Ride 4" system which is a simplified version of the "Ride 9" that came on some of the older bikes. So yes, your square has 4 positions :)
@@OtterMTBtech In this video you can see the "Square in a square" setup that gave the "Ride 9" all 9 positions. ruclips.net/video/DjGPGNni0Zo/видео.htmlsi=6jG2yzQt2mpuCF1a
great video brother, i love the detail and knowledge on your vids. i think you should see if you can return that frame or swap it for an xl? i think you will be happier with it.and i think you will bomb better with an xl in all areas. keep us posted because i want to see some footage after you get this whip dialed...
Ive been watching the video for 4 minatues and man such good content and way that you do things. +1 sub. And the shimano motors suck a lot. (E7000 is decent). edit. at 5 min YESSS CARBON FIBER SUCKS!
@@OtterMTBtech yes... Always washers on a set destined for abuse. the HD ones are hit an miss but im similar weight to you on a 27.74kg ebike and ive put my ARC30/vaults through the ringer and they've been excellent, but i keep high spoke tension
I would think most people would view companies like Specialized, Trek, Scott, and all of those direct-consumer companies building horst-link bikes as the more Costco-esque companies. Any company with house brand-components to me feels like a generic, price conscious company
Yeap, my first ebike was a turbo levo, then i jumped to ep8. I came with a bullit Mx wheel & a yeti160e 29er, yeti 160e is a lazy bike I went for 5dev crank 155
My 21 atitude analog was sick, no doubt one of the best bikes ive ever ridden and id happily take anther.. Big regrets selling that thing.... I demo'd the new one and its 💩
Can't wait for the Altitude follow-up! I plan on just riding mine stock Instinct for a while, but yea, the Altitude build raises that bottom bracket up some, so that should help with the pedal strikes.
Standover on the rocky is 818mm, standover on the kenevo is 799mm. My balls are 800mm from the ground. Bikes with the shock mounted to the top tube tend to have high standover. Look at maybe getting a longer stem than 40mm, I find stems that have less than the fork offset don't feel right.
@@OtterMTBtech Maybe look into your stack numbers and compare them to the kenevo. that short head tube is getting you over the front of the bike, you can throw a bunch of spacers under the stem but that just makes the short reach even shorter. your fix maybe in a high rise bar, GMBN did a video on them a while back. you also might want to look into a 180mm fork but that shortens the reach as well.
I didn’t even think of that. I got the large Rocky for the reason the stack is 632 closer to Kenevo. I think it’s the most important number. The bikes with 650 feel absolutely terrible high center of gravity, but to low your over the front.
If you had put a 170m with 51 offset fork you would have had a better handling bike for the steep downhill stuff that’s what I run on my commencal meta power TR.
Being a great or not great rider has no bearing on weather ones opinion is valid or not. I've ridden and owned bikes from almost every brand, I haven't liked any as much as my altitude. The Bosch motors are my second choice though. Anything with a Shimano motor can fuck off in my opinion, same with brose. Both work ok when they work but that's the issue for me I've seen tons of them with broken/replaced motors

100% +2 boost is insane.
This!

Absolute weapons, I put a coil and grip 2 on mine... Deadly
@BowzKnows I bought a pretty cheap coil too and it still works really well
That friggin new bike smile man. Congrats.

great samsbike intro
I got the a30 coil altitude Shimano. Best bike I ever bought. I do love coil though so that really helps.
Awesome impressions. Keep em coming!
That bike looks better than the pictures.
Ya, totally. I thought I was getting a black bike.
Looks like a great bike, personally I'm not going to change from bosch any time soon because if the reliability and consistency
Im a viking of a man at 6'1" and I too prefer most Large frames with give or take 470-480mm reach
🍻. The XL bikes feel wonky

Youll want some NORTH SHORE BILLET 155 cranks.

Cheers mate. No bike review will say the ep8 is weak. Supposedly the update fixed all, but after 4 years ouch
It's funny you mention the Raceface wheels... the AR's are kinda rubbish but the ARC30 or ARC30HD are awesome. I have some built up on Vault hubs.
I still pulled the spokes out of the HD. He said you need to ad washers to stop that

On my last two levos I got Miranda cranks 150mm. $85

Agree
with all the overrun lovers might as well get a throtle bike -bafang has bikes that have a throtle added as an option
Can you talk about motor power vs pedaling rpm?

haha like it
RM is famous for having zero over run. What boost settings and software version are U using. Also mine doesn`t vibrate at all.
Is the software number in the display?

Those bearings in the shock eyelet are shit asf.
I was getting 1 run out of each.
Changed to traditional setup and it makes basically no difference.
What bushing? Can you link to them
@@OtterMTBtech Just traditional mounting hardware... 8mm x something, cant remember youll have to measure the gap but im sure someone said 8x40.
RWC has a roller bearing kit that fits in the eyelet and works well.
You went with one size smaller, than you should at 6.2, then most of the shortcomings you list come from the bike being too small/short 🤷♂okkkay 💀😄
Put the power down!!!
i tried a rocky mountain ebike found I had to put in high cadence input to get the torque. Brose motors are much better.

I don't think I will ever get a full weight E-Bike. The light ones are so good.
shimano motors, the worst

I never would have thought of that. Thanks. I had 36 with 51 I liked it, didn’t know tell later it was 51
Appreciate the humor but it appears Rob and Sam easily have you covered in actually riding…. This video is Portland AF….
