I love my mullet Strive :ON You just point with the front end, and get on those bar, and the rear just goes around, with a big grin! Love it... so much MX liek
Love the video I'm a big fan of full 29 I currently have a 2024 Marin alpine trail e2 and that came as a mullet. I was clipping pedals all the time and getting hung up on rocky terrain. Luckily the marin has ample room for a 29inch wheel. The bike has a 63.5 head angle so I increased the front travel to 170mm from 160 and wow its so much better faster no pedal strikes. No more mullet for me. I did a back to back test and no comparison and I only lost half a degree of head tube angle
@OtterMTBtech 335 is with the 29inch wheel it was way lower as a mullet. It would of only been a matter of time before I clipped again and went over the bars. I love how the bike handles now
Definitely don't use orange locktite.. those bolts are aluminum. You will probably strip the hex out when you go to remove it. Stick with just a dab of blue? Or. Use grease and just get in the habit of checking bolts before rides
FYI orange permatex thread locker, which he is using is "high strength removable",meaning it's meant to be disassembled. Heats still your friend removing anything with thread locker. Little heat gun action goes along way.
I run my Gen3 with stock shox and 29er on the back, DHR29x2.4DD , love the added BB clearance and Im no longer trashing rear mech cages .. the 27.5 puts my rear Transmision mech to close to the ground.
A normal 2.5 tire only fits in the frame in high setting. In the Low setting you have to pull the mud guard out of the rear chain stay to fit the tire Buy a Specialized Levo, then do this! ruclips.net/video/4K_ZeKptyyc/видео.html I think it is better in low setting mud guard out in this video
I have Mx enduro sworks on storia. Much more nervous rear end, easier cornering and better on steep tech terrain, also better to control for me, I'm 177 cm tall so not a big guy.
Are you sure to put it high setting? Low setting is 6 mm longer chainstay. I had a Gen 2 and mulleted it. Had to put it in high setting. It would be the opposite for you. Cool project, but I love my mullets.
@@OtterMTBtech approximately 13.5in aka 343mm. You can get away with a higher bb on an ebike because the motor and battery lowers your center of gravity quite a bit. This bike also has a really slack head angle to start with so that isn’t an issue.
@@OtterMTBtech the stock rythm converted to 170mm/ slack position. Went 160 on the rear. Oh, And 2.8's. Being 5'8" i never really got along as well with full 29. Granted, i might throw the wagon wheel back on the front for a long xc ride or such.
You're much less juvenile than me in your choice of strava routes... Casually mentioning having your car stolen made me spill my coffee through my nose, sorry I laughed so hard at that. Them Marxists want to see the world burn ...

If it’s fun you win 😎

😎🥂. What’s bb height?
@OtterMTBtech hi the bb is 335mm to centre of bottom bracket
Measure from ground to center of crank. 335 is stupidly low.

I use the purple 99% of the time on aluminium/aluminium applications.
Yeah heat is good but don't forget carbon fiber is just polyester or epoxy 🥵
Blue doesn’t hold unless you submerge it and it’s like cleaning puke. Glad someone can read here. Orange is designed to remove

🥂. Mentally 365 seems to high. Ride it golden.
I have an s2 put in long / low cs. I fit a 29 without removing the rubber flap. I’m using an Argotal 2.4 and it fits. A better fit is a dissector 2.4.
Love your suspension vids buddy! but you ride like my grampa. 😂 Much love
Bro, rob rides is just as bad as me. Just fancy camera work. Agree. Suspension is my calling
Great video, cheers!
look at a rockstop frame protector. It can replace your skid plate and be place up and down that area.
I ordered it for new bike. Weeks of shipping to USA
Was that Gateway Green Portland? --- I have 5 MTBs and none are mullets. I'm either full 27.5 or full 29
So did you run the rear low or high? It looked like low. I’m building mine up this coming week from a frame set.
A normal 2.5 tire only fits in the frame in high setting. In the Low setting you have to pull the mud guard out of the rear chain stay to fit the tire
Buy a Specialized Levo, then do this!

You don't have to buy $400 cranks.
Just a new wheel, tyre, and a cascade link? 😂
Don't forget the CushCore and Stan's sealant.
True wheels ain’t cheap
Would be interesting to know how this impacts the speed and motor assist on the bike.
It doesn’t, I rode the Kenevo 29 for years it’s 27.5 bike
I have Mx enduro sworks on storia. Much more nervous rear end, easier cornering and better on steep tech terrain, also better to control for me, I'm 177 cm tall so not a big guy.
Brilliant description. I was looking for the words. Nervous rear end. DH steep 27.5 all day
Any problems with the coil yet, Levos to not like them because of the yoke...
That one had the link so no
Is cleaning bolts with a tap and die set normal procedure for bike shops?
No idea. I can tell you I had bolts coming loose from not cleaning the the lock right off
Yeah. I have an s2. Hated it in mullet. Tried long cs…better…long cs and 29x2.4 is best
Also I have the Cascade link (the 160mm not the LT link).
I also plan to try it in 27.5 f and r with 150 cranks
Is that a 210x 65 shock with the cascade LT link? I’m on the 210x55 with the regular cascade link
Good point. People say no way and never try anything

The gen 3 doesn’t have the shock flip chip. But I know what you’re saying and it makes sense.
I swapped the 27.5 to 29 on my Marin Alpine ebike and it doesn’t even have a flip chip. 29 feels way better.
Almost got that bike. Measure by height let me know

@@brassmnky33 anything sub 350 is hard to ride, I bet it is better
unitl spec runs out of spare motors
The rotor mounted speed sensor on those is janky, seen em warped a bit where it also warps the rotor.
Well it’s better than a spoke mount
@@OtterMTBtech 100%, just a weird problem I caught. Get a cheap rotor mount magnet later if it gives you grief
I'm also full 29er guy 🤜🤛
Ya, never looking back 😎
Are you under 200lbs rider weight with helmet/gear/water etc? This linkage looks cool, but 200lbs is pretty restrictive.
He's more like 220. He was using my bike and I'm like 235, this bike is amazing for heavy riders with the Cascade link.
How long does the chainstay end up being with this setup?
Not long enough
This bike doesnt turn properly. I dislike it. Good suspension though
If you tried and said no, you’re golden.
Full 650b here, far superior for me and the tight nasty shyt i ride
What fork?
