It's great seeing these old instruments and hearing their history, topped off with you playing them so well. Great videos, thank you for sharing your knowledge and skill. :)
great video of a great instrument with a distinct sound - no nylon strings in those days - it is in beautiful condition, and a great accompaniment to your lovely singing...
Yes, that was wonderful! 😊 The notes of the C major scale are actually called C D E F G A H C in German-speaking countries instead of C D E F G A B C, and B = B flat. I would very much like our German H to be renamed B and B to Bb, that would be more logical and easier ...
In Poland we also have the H. There are a lot of good resources for beginners in English - I think the H will die out in the mainstream soon but will take some time in the classical education.
@@Izik8890 Interesting! In fact, there are even more countries that use CDEFGAHC: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary. Many countries use "do re mi fa sol la si".
This is lovely, takes me back to being young again when it was one of my favourites.
Me too! I learned it in college.

My grandma had a smaller version of this ❤
Did it fold up like this one?
@@deedeetibbits no, it was very small, she played it on a table. It cracked so it doesn’t play and I hung it on my wall. It’s still there.
@@deedeetibbits thank you for asking. I’m going to move soon and then learn to play the hammered dulcimer 😁

I wonder who desires all those things….thanks for helping me understand all of that
I think if you used a guitar slide on it you might get some amazing results
I’ll try that, but because there aren’t frets, that may not work.
What a beautiful sound. Lovely singing too 💝👌
Oh thank you!
