Beautiful. Please tell us what kind of instrument that is.

Sure, this is a Hurdy Gurdy.
The Hurdy Gurdy is a string instrument with a wooden wheel which acts as a bow when turned with a crank. In the medieval period, the Hurdy Gurdy was popular with wandering minstrels and could be heard at court, village dances and church processions.

I also heard that it was used in churches before the organs

@@MrOreoTheCat10 the predecessor of the Hurdy Gurdy, the Organistrum was invented between the 10th and 11th century and used in the churches but I think the organ was older than the Organistrum.
From the 12th Century we have the Portative Organ but very common for secular music...
Thats based of what I heard and read. I am not an expert though 😊

Thank you for the replies @marcocannavo -- the history of music and musical instruments is fascinating. The sheer inventiveness of humans in creating so many ways to make sounds and music is astounding.

Contattami su FB or Istagram se preferisci.

I tried playing this on my saprano recorder now, but as it as a recorder I had that I kind of bit the top of, it sounded out of tune on some notes. 😅. My recorder tutor would kill me for trying this on an out of tune recorder. Tres terrible 😅
