Growiing up on a rice n bean farm in Southwestern Louisiana in the 60's, 70's, and 80's its awesome to see y'all bring these old tractors back to life !! We had International, John Deere, Moline, and Case tractors, also John Deere combines !
Yeah I subscribed !
I want to buy . How much you want

The 8700 & 9700 are killer tractors! My grampa ran a 7700 the 4 cylinder version. That would be a killer pulling tractor!!
Ever since you started this Will it start series you've been my favorite youtuber to watch. Seeing all these clapped out mint traptors reminds me of my grams's collection of super ms and case 730s both wide front and skinny front. Both gas and desiel. My family still has them all and all run. I miss you grams. RIP Alvin Helmer
We got a Ford a little bigger than that with duals on it, we used to use for disking ours has a turbo on it, motor was good it would just lose power in the field, it would be running fine and just completely quit pulling, we had a mechanic come work on it but couldn’t never find out what was really wrong with it so we just parked it, it’s been sitting up and hasn’t been cracked in bout 17 years, thanks for the video guys
Maybe your tractor will run better after having a good 17 years of rest. I can't believe they got that tractor running with little effort. If I had an old tractor, this video would certainly motivate me to try and start it. If you do try it, please video and post your experience for comparison
Another good video Bruce. The tractor sounds good and it must have been awesome working with it back in the day.
I love watching this I see great things..keep it up☝
And I’m guessing by the growth of the channel others like seeing this to. Congrats on 100k
This is the 6.6 Brazilian, based from the 7.8. I love it how a few issues like the odd block porosity manifests itself into "Horrid" problems. Lots of these engines were used in Ford medium duty trucks and busses. 750,000 mile engines!. Built in Brazil at the same factory as the PowerStroke.
I’d definitely like a tour video of the equipment. And once again nice video!
Hell yes brother, great video-and yes that old Ford would make an excellent project and pulling tractor. Love the old powder blue classics
The clicking rattling sound at idle is normal for the 8600 tractors also. I have been around several. I think the noise is normal engine cycling. There is very little difference between the 8600 and 8700 tractors. Your 8700 sounds great. I hope this helps.
Awesome video. I just collected an 8600 a couple days ago. Needs an injector pump job.. Nice old tractor though. Love your videos. Keep them coming. Many blessings to you and yours.
Nice you had to work on this one a little LOL. I enjoy these, keep them coming. That engine sounds awesome.
Bruce, congratulations on 100k subs!!! Love your will it start series.
Love the will it start videos!
That's hilarious that you know Brian Caperelli, I come from Tn. every year to help him & Rodney with the pull in Ocala & Green cove springs, used to live in central Fl been friends with Rodney thru pulling for 30+ yrs.
Great video, great channel keep the tractors coming. Absolutely love it.
Those old fords from the 8 and 9000 up with that same basic engine and drivetrain make excellent pulling tractors. The Forrester pulling team from Pa has pulled them for years very successfully.
Hell yes on the equipment tour !! An by golly that old ford is a good ole decent size tractor .. would be nice to see you get it an do a complete overhaul an do in a episodes series so we can see as you rebuild it .. would be good for a pull tractor too.. don’t see many those around much anymore.. good job fella 👍
*_OMG 100k!!!!,_* 🎉🥳🎉 *_congrats Bruce, well earned_*
Love the video's. As far as I can remember they were turbo'd and the multi power was on a Ferguson, the Fords had what they called dual power
Aye 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 this whole video kicks ass😎 love the manual zoom too. Gives it more character. Also let’s ya know that the camera man is putting in that much more work ✊🏼
Bravoo guys. Good determination. Those tractors were bread winners of the world.
We need a tour and that tractor would be an awesome pulling tractor
That tractor sounds great it would be great if you could try and restore it.
Yes please pulling tractor I have been looking forever for a channel that has a build up of a pulling tractor
I saw one on youtube not to long ago.
From floor to fumes tractor puller build.
If i can find it i'll let ya know
I’m really digging the tractor stuff
If you pull it, the dual power is extremely hearty and will hold up. Great overall tractors ,just wish they had hydraulic brakes like a 30 or 40 series deer's had
Hell yes Bruce, due a tour of all the cool old equipment, that tractor would make a great pull tractor....MINTTT👌🏼
It would be awesome to see it built as pulling tractor! Love the old fords
If you can get that thing would be a good puller! Don’t paint it and just slap some decal with swamp thang on it and build er and she will pull like a dream🤙🏻
Amazing 4 tractors that have been left to rust and rot away, and your out here just resurrecting the dead. I fuckin love seeing y’all do this, I guess maybe it’s the challenge of seeing if it will run or not. And when it moves under its own power is even better. Definitely enjoy this more than trucks tbh.
Do it Up! I Love it!! Hi from Venice FL too!
Man, you must have a family member or really good buddy that works for interstate batteries. I live in Houston, Texas and here interstate batteries are two sometimes three times the cost of your standard no name brand batteries. Both equivalent in amps and warranty and in my 20 years of trucking, also in quallity. Just my two cents. Keep up the good content, and keep the videos coming.
Yes build a pulling tractor please I use to tractor pull back in the day
I have a Ford 4000 and am happy with it. It is 51 years old and still does work.
They made the Ford 8700 from 77 to 79 good tractor over all few issues mainly the drive train
On the Ford 8700 you have to put the high and low gears in the middle position and you have to let the brakes build up on those tractors
Also late 70s for the year. Love the videos dude. Grew up around newholland and Deere. Don’t get around them too much anymore but I still love em. Thanks for sharing these.
I have a Ford 5000 and it's stout! This would be a good tractor for super stock!
Yes you should build a pullin tractor! Foresters in pa have several of those fords and they really go well. Some are upwards of 2000 hp
Congrats on 100K
Cracking tractor with loads of video potentials.
Next tractor up from this was the Ford TW 10, so it certainly is a big brute.
I like how fast your post a new videos please keep it up
I had a Ford TW 10 with the nice factory cab that resembled the John Deere sound guard cabs, bought it brand new and ran it 20 years without any issues whatsoever , FYI it holds 20 qts of oil in the engine, unlike this one that was miss treated and looks like it's been through a WAR ours looked like new when I sold it, pulled 5X18's & also an 18 foot hyd fold wing disk, with the way that tractor looks it goes to show how good the 401 Ford engine is, POOR THING 😰, with what stuff costs I could never understand the mistreatment some folks do , thanks for saving the ole girl from the crusher, it that was made back in the mid 80's, it takes a 4DLT battery BTW.
Build it. That would be cool to see a pulling tract go through stages
Those years Ford's were excellent tractors.
Drop the pan pull the head and pistons out do in frame.
The machine is sought after up north.
I love will it start keep up the good work
Dude turn that beast into a drag monster!!
A pulling tractor would be sweet! Congarts on a 100k!
WELL DONE - IT RUNS AND DRIVES - ANOTHER GREAT RESCUE - IT WILL BE A GREAT WORKHORSE - CHEERS FROM AUSTRALIA !!!!
Be a great puller, you'll run out of power before anything. Not a huge aftermarket place though for these.
Congratulations on 100k!
Actually i know a lot farmers that are picking up these old tractors and taking the computer junk to the crusher.
That a nice old looking ford tractor haven’t seen one of them for a while
There is a cold start button on the Simms injection pumps on those tractors. It makes a world of difference. Push it then crank with throttle halfway.
I would love to see a full restoration on that tractor
or at least a good refresh.
Wasn't the reason for it being parked was that it did not start 18 years ago?
@@brucecollom8947 yea and? fix the problem and do a full restoration, itll get views and i would enjoy seeing it fully restored🤷🏻♂️
Love the tractors keep them comming thx and godbless
That's my kinda guy! He's got a couple skidders and log trailers and crap laying around
I'd like to see it repaired and put back to work.
Shane Singleton me to
Them old ferds are beasts love them
Good job
That wrist-pin noise is common, friend of mine had a 8700 and ran the hell out of it with same noise for years.
It needs some love and then it can get straight back to work. This is not a bad machine.
Hell yea buy it for sure keep us updated on it can't wait 😊
Finally a FORD
9700 has a turbo 8700 don't
Thay really good tractor we had one
Yes they are good tractors my friend has one for there hunting land
I have a 9700 ,do NOT use dot3 in the brake system it will eat the seals out. Ford/NH has a mineral oil you must use for their brake systems. 8700 & 9700 were built 1977 thru 1979 but continued useing the 401 all the way up to the 8830 by adding an intercooler
You can hear the knock even when she's turning over. Yikes! Still worth it.
Love the old ford tractors very well built
Also the 9700 had the turbo and the rods had oil holes for better piling but I know many people that would turbo 8700s with out the 9700 rods and turn them up big with no problems!
Å
Heck yeah on the next episode of tractor rescue
FORD IS GOLD 💪👌 SIMPLY THE BEST 👌❤️👍💪🔥😍
That would make a good pullin tractor
Great pulling tractor. Keep the tractor videos coming.
I think that is a valve rocker, because when you revved it up the clatter never increased like a wrist pin would. Take the valve cover off and see what is going on with the lifters. Sure it will smoke right off because the rings and valves don't work right right off when cold starting after sitting.
Need more blue in the pulling line up! Build it!
Waaaoh am from Tanzania, I like this ford, it's sounds very nice, and it's very powerful, we have this in our home but is 7000
Awesome videos ! 👍
To fix the starter you should try replacing the positive terminal on the solenoid or tightening it down. That's what was wrong with ours when it wouldn't crank.
Love the tractor
Late 70s early 80s. Our family farm has an early 8000 model had it since new. Nice vid.
Its going to be interesting when someone starts the tractor and i wish it will be running
Love the Zip ties and Bias plies comments!!!
"Will it start" sure blew your channel up. Congratulations on 100k
401 Fords are a great motor, that would be an excellent puller
Would make a great puller Bruce! Some came n/a some came with turbo charger. I don’t know if there are any m&w turbo kits for the 8700
That's a big Ford love it what about that case you should restore it such a cool tracker this one is too but that case is cool
Sou aqui do Brasil Bruce Wilson muito bom seus vídeos parabéns..
I love these tractors!
I love this video and how it sounds when the Tractor started before the video Started. That tractor looks very old for a Ford Tractor.
Hell yes!!! It is a FORD!!!!
Hi Bruce that machine is good value, the engine doesn't sound too bad, if you can get it for the right price, go for it. I think that model
had rear dual wheels on it, way back? Uncle Robert (Bob) Wilson. New Zealand.
I'm not a farmer but damn sure love the tractor. Your nextdoor neighbor in Georgia ☠
Ford tractors are some of the most reliable I been around
Awesome. My father parked his 1973 5000 ford 11 years ago and it has never been started since. It’s my next project to restore.
Love watching old fords pull
I have never seen an 8700 have the exhaust under the back wheels and I agree they had turbo on most of the bigger diesels
Squirt of Bill Cosby date in a can and she fired right up, Miiiiiint!! 😂😂😂
gotta love Peg, ha.
I see you too are a man of culture
mountain177 damn straight! Keep shittin out yer ass 😂😂😂😂
The 8700 did not have a turbo the 9700 was the turbo version you can put a turbo on the 8700 it is a 401 cu inch engine would make a great tractor puller . cheers .
Would Love to see this built into something fun
Mutipower was a Massey Ferguson thing ford called it dual power lol
Cool old tractor
keep getting into bigger tractors and your going to need another battery to go with the one you got and a piece of cable to connect them
