Fast, easy, and uses very little yarn. I made this yesterday, and added a pom to the top. It fits great - my new fav hat!
After all these years I still make them nice even in mid summer here in Montana!!
2021, you are awesome. The only yarn wizard I have been able to follow. Your instructions easy to understand and I can keep up with the speed you crochet at. Have also watched your shorts on types of stiches. 2 hats down and many, Christmas gifts, to go! I love that it is a project you can actually finish in one day !
love it very quick to crochet please add more slouchy hats keep up the good work
I noticed that too. (More than 16) I had the hat done and pulled it all out. Lol! It was the second round. Make sure you connect sooner and only have eight. I had nine and it threw the whole hat off. Now I’m sitting here with a pile of yarn and I’m going to try again. Joy of crochet and counting stitches... I can’t wait to conquer this hat. 🙋🏼
You are one of the easiest folks to follow. As a newbie to crocheting that is sooooo nice! Thank you!
I’m so happy to hear that! Please let me know if you have any video requests :)
Perfect for last minute gifts. Very easy but it looks good and can be whipped up in about an hour. Thank you!
I've noticed that Lion brand wool ease thick and quick is popular with a lot of crocheters. I've seen many people use their yarns for crocheting. I love Lion brand wool ease thick and quick. I use it all of the time for knitting.
Wow you make everything so easy In every tutorial! Thanks a bunch!
Beautiful I’m starting this tomorrow in lion brands hometown USA Dallas grey (which is super soft and looks more silver) LOVE Your pattern!! And your instructions and background music were both great!
I love the color you chose for your hat. It's very pretty. I want to knit a snood in that same color. I also love your nails as well. They kind of match your yarn.
It's took me 21 yrs to find a hat for daughter, made this today she loves it. We could just never find a hat that fits. 💖💖
I loved all the music of your video and your beanie!.
Made a waffle cone, slouchy beanie, crochet.and it turned out good.,Thank God.
I love this tutorial! I’ve got to make it for my sister. Thanks!
I just made this with red yarn and it looks awesome! Thanks for the tutorial!
I looked at a few pages of your crocheted slouchy hats and beanies book on Amazon. They're pretty cute. You also came up with some pretty cute names for your hats as well.
Just finished mine made some slight changes to it so it fit, and a bit of a bigger band
Cute hat. Thank you for sharing your talents.
Wow I rarely complete a project in an hour or so, but this was easy and great video. I plan to do more since I have a lot of bulky yarn from my $1 buy from lion brand😁 thanks again!!
The waffle cone couch hat really suits you😊
I still think this is the easiest prettyness hat ive ever made. Thanks again for the tutorial....
Just finished this one for me and I LOVE it, TY!! ❤ I was wondering if u have anything for a matching scarf or cowl? 😃
I like the hat it is pretty thanks for sharing🤗
Thanks. I love my new hat and the video was great❤
I love that wool color. almost finish with mines
Love this pattern, do you know how to make it to fit a child age 4/5 yrs? TFS :)
i love this hat pattern do you have a scarf pattern to match hat as well
Very nice! In the beginning and in the round, are you putting your hook in the actual stitch or in the chain one spaces in-between the stitches?
BeYou4You this is what I’m not sure about too. I started the 4th round before noticing it didn’t look like she was putting them in the chain one spaces. That’s the only thing I wish was explained a little more, otherwise it’s been easy to follow/watch
Fiona Dunn yes, I totally agree
I'm very impressed by how you're able to crochet with the yarn only between two fingers. I tried that and I couldn't do it.
Lol I can’t hold it the “normal” way that most people do. It’s never felt right to me.
@@GleefulThings . that's fine. We all hold our yarn differently in a way that's comfortable for us. I usually just do it behind my pink, over my second and middle finger, and behind my index finger. That's comfortable for me and the way that I was taught when I learned how to crochet but then again, we all hold our yarn in a way that's comfortable for us.
oh i need to make this for my daughter, she loves these type of hats.
Thank you so much. Loved following your instructions.
Awesome tutorial and loved making this hat!
+Cindy Stead thank you! I’m happy you enjoyed it :)
This is super cute and love how quickly it works up! I'm just curious though- is it supposed to fit super loosely? It's pretty huge. It looks good but easily slips off. Is it supposed to be this way?
It is loose but shouldn’t be falling off. Is your gauge the same as mine?
Very well made tutorial, congratulations !
Loved the video. Now to attempt to make a hat. Thank you for the share. I’m a new follower 😀❤️👍🏽
+shigurly thank you for following! I’m happy you enjoyed the video :)
Love my new hat!!!!!! Thanks So Much!☺👍
Please have these on Amazon! Need a variety of them shipped to where I am in Africa. Please!
Love your patterns, so skillfully made and explained very well! (Just a little gushing from a fan) :)
Thank you for sharing your nice hat!
Hi in the beginning for when round 2 is over you said it should measure 5 inches across. Mine is only 4 inches. I’m using 9mm crochet hook and size 6 super bulky yarn. Why is it a inch shorter than what you said?
Hi! You probably crochet tighter than I do. To get the correct gauge, you could try using a larger hook or just loosen up your tension.
Okay thank you!! I made 3 last night! I love this pattern! Your a great teacher! Thank you 😊
I’m so happy to hear that! Glad you enjoyed the pattern! :)
I ordered the colors you made your hats in to make snoods.
Love this! Made it today. Is there anyway to make it for a child?
Currently I only have the pattern written in one size. Sorry about that!
You made that seem so quick
I like the hat
how long have you been crocheting?
How would you make this if you dont want it slouchy hun
Question. Are you skipping the change one space? And are you going through the change spaces only? Thanks
+BeautyfulButterfly13 in which round? The majority of the hat is made skipping the chain spaces and working only into the double crochets.
Ive tried to make this beanie three times now and it comes out wayyyyyy too big every time... ):
i definitely have a small head but this came out the size of a small purse!!!
I also have a small head - just tighten up your gauge. When you get to the part where you’re measuring your increase, just make sure it’s not bigger than 4 and a half inches.
Hey just came across your site. Beautiful hat, does it have to made out of bulky yarn.
Thanks! :) This pattern is intended for #6 super bulky yarn, but you could also try two strands of #4 worsted held together.
@@GleefulThings thank you for info
Do you think it would work to use a 10mm hook?
It might if you crochet tighter than me. Give it a try and just be sure to check your gauge :)
Gleeful Things thank you!!
Love the pattern just...why oh why did I skip the gauge size step? And I may have used a smaller crochet hook. It's crushing my cranium. 😂
Is it normal for round 3 to get wavy?
Nevermind I figure out what I did.
Could I do this one for a newborn? What size hook would I use?
Shari Walter just about to start one for a newborn what size hook and how many beginning stiches for the circumference (head) and row count Inbox me Stacey Mayes Holmes Thank you
I eliminated 2 rows after 4th row. I like the fit.....
I added a2nd color for the band. I love the contrast.
I used Aspen tweed, and black for the band....loving it.
For some reason I'm getting more than 16 double crochets. What am I doing wrong?
Shannon Nicole me too
+Shannon Nicole it’s hard to say without being able to see. Did you have 8 dc in the first round?
You're saying to DC in *every* stitch from round 2 on. It's not 100% clear that you're not counting the chain one spaces from Round 1 as stitches. I think this is why so many people are having problems.
girl
I know this was awhile ago but from round three she actually not crocheting in every stitch like she says to do it’s every other stitch I had to undo my round three when I realised what she was doing she then does this in the continuing rounds so when she says to go in the next stitch she means every other xx
Interesting, I never considered double crochet to be beginner-friendly. I always considered double crochet to be an advanced beginner and single crochet to be beginner-friendly.
I think I can see why it's considered beginner-friendly because it uses a chunky yarn which is easier to see the stitches and a large hook to make it quicker and because it uses a slip stitch to join so you know where the beginning of the round is.
Lindo
Cute! 😍
I like this pattern. But it’s hard to follow you because you are vague about the which stitch we are going into. I’m on round 4 and noticed you are going in the top stitches and not the bottom 🤦🏽♀️
+Daraja Faison I don’t understand what you mean by top stitched and bottom stitches. All stitches are worked into double crochets.
Not that this is still relevant for you, but for future newbies to crochet, she (and actual crochet patterns) refer to the space under your "chain one" as chain space. So each "stitch" is exclusively the stitch above the double crochet. I'm new to crochet, and was a little confused, but also recently had a pattern describe this space similarly. Hope that Makes sense
@@ACrunner88 thank you for posting this. As a newbie crocheter who has redone the second row 3 times before finding this post... THANK YOU!! haha makes so much more sense now
If I can't find a 9mm hook can I use 8mm?
You can try it but definitely check your gauge to make sure your stitches are the right size with that hook.
Guess I have a big head lol. It barely slouched, and yes I have every stitch accounted for.
Lol I definitely have a big head but your hat should still have some slouch. Was your gauge accurate? Did you use a different yarn than I did?
I thought the yarn I was using was pretty thick but the hat turned out tiny, I'm so sad.
+Helen Mac :( do you know the name of the yarn? This pattern requires a #6 super bulky.
Did you only use 1 yarn???
+Nelly Álvarez yes, just one skein of Lion Brand Wool-ease Thick & Quick.
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Awesome pattern and explanation!💟💖
May I ask please what is it called and where can I get the rubber glittery thing you put on your hook to make it more comfy?
Thanks in advance Julie! 😘
