  • In this video, we look at the astonishing statements from four major automakers-GM, Porsche, Toyota, and Ford-that are poised to revolutionise the automobile industry. These businesses have recently unveiled innovative engine technology that might potentially upset the entire EV market. Leading the push, GM CEO Mary Barra, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume, Toyota CEO Koji Sato, and Ford CEO Jim Farley have all unveiled new developments, indicating a seismic change in automotive innovation.
General Motors, a stalwart in the automobile industry, is pushing the boundaries with their latest engine technology. Mary Barra's announcement demonstrates GM's dedication to producing high-performance, fuel-efficient engines that challenge the supremacy of electric vehicles. This ambitious initiative places GM as a serious challenger to EV powerhouses such as Tesla, Rivian, and Lucid Motors.
Porsche, known for its expensive sports cars, will not be surpassed. CEO Oliver Blume's introduction unveils a breakthrough engine that combines traditional power with cutting-edge technology to provide unrivalled performance. This invention intends to compete directly with Tesla's Model S and Lucid Air, while retaining Porsche's hallmarks of precision engineering and luxury.
Toyota, the world leader in automobile technology, is also making waves. Koji Sato has introduced an engine that claims to combine efficiency and sustainability, potentially overshadowing the appeal of electric cars. Toyota's new engine technology is expected to compete with not only Tesla but also other electric vehicle makers such as NIO and BYD, marking a key milestone in the industry.
Ford, a famous name in American automotive history, is redefining power and economy with its most recent engine announcement. Jim Farley's revelation establishes Ford as a major player in the contest against EV manufacturers. This new engine technology is intended to provide powerful performance while attacking the market share of electric competitors such as Tesla, Rivian, and Bollinger Motors.
In this video, we look at how GM, Porsche, Toyota, and Ford's announcements could impact the future of the automobile industry. Will these new engines take over the market, or will the EV revolution continue to accelerate? Join us as we examine the consequences, compare technology, and forecast the future of transport in this period of extraordinary innovation.

This is to me the best way forward. My choice is electric for urban driving and ICE for long distance cruising and “fun” weekend drives. Normally this means 2 cars. An ideal solution for me is the ICE - electric hybrid - 2 cars in one! I hope governments become open to this realistic solution to reducing emissions while not destroying existing infrastructure and the chaos that might ensue. Thanks for this video.

The increase in EV is the reduction of using petroleum. I see in the introduction of this new engine to keep using petroleum. Why does the automobile industry not look to build engines that use solar energy? Now, that will be an improvement that will help the environment to reduce pollution.

davidbarry994 is correct. Technically, a "motor" is driven by alternating attracting and repelling electromagnetic fields while a combustion "engine" is driven by expanding heat from burning fuel in a closed chamber. In layperson's parlance, the terms "engine" and "motor" are sometimes acceptably used interchangeably, meaning generally locomotion or a means of harnessing work. Witness the "motorcycle” (enginecycle?). And what is a "turbine" for generating electricity? Is it a "motor" if the source of energy comes from electron-attracted gravity-induced hydropower and an "engine" if the source of power comes from expanding steam over burning coal? Linguistic traditions take perplexing twists and turns.

A typical EV battery weighs about 1000 lbs and contains 25 lbs of lithium, 60 lbs of nickel, 44 lbs of manganese, 30 lbs of cobalt, 200 lbs of copper, 400 lbs of aluminium, steel, and plastic. There is over 6.000 individual lithium-ion cells. To produce, you need to process 25,000 lbs of brine for the lithium, 30,000 lbs of the earths ore for the cobalt, 5,000 lbs of ore for the nickel, 200 lbs of graphite, and 25,000 lbs of ore for the copper. It requires an average of 500,000 lbs of the earth's crust to manufacture ONE battery for an EV car. These batteries cannot be recycled, so even in some minor accidents, the entire battery and vehicle need to be replaced. Not to mention the thousands of barrels of crude oil used in the manufacturing process of EV batteries, and the complete reliance on electric energy (mostly coal!!!) to charge the battery and the toll that takes on the environment. If you think for a second that EV vehicles are "environmentally friendly", well... I have a bridge to sell you.

No one mentioned the efficiency of these engines but Improving engine efficiency is an issue that is common to automobile manufacturers, and according to Nissan's website for example, Nissan's latest engines may achieve a claimed 50% efficiency, more than the usual maximum of approx 40% thermal efficiency is being achieved. However, it took almost 30 years to improve thermal efficiency from 30% to 40%.
This is a far cry from the electric motor which can achieve 95% of efficiency energy into motion.
The efficiency of the efficiency of delivering electrical energy from generation to sources also fast superior to delivering hydrocarbons from the ground.
These are just the dying cries of a the legacy hydrocarbon industries and will not survive. They cannot because oil will not and oil is running out.
Electrically power vehicles have to succeed and the dinosaur internal compassion engines die out in common use.

We still have not solved what to do with nuclear waste and dead EV batteries. We still can’t solve the garbage problem and recycling. Recently we all had to switch to the “required” yellow recycling bucket. I had 2 great blue ones with wheels and a lid. But NO, we have to use the yellow buckets. So each household gets only one, where you need at least 2. So now everyday people come to our office park and dump their trash in our garbage bins and don’t recycle, because it has become a big pain in the ass. So when we solve all of these problems we might actually be solving some problems. But we can go to the moon and back. And there is not enough infrastructure for EV’s and we don’t have the electric power to do it. Soon my wife will be taking our laundry and some rocks to the river.

No new engine is going to radically reduce harmful emissions.
Gasoline car engines have been very clean for decades.
Reducing CO2 is the new goal.
    Which will reduce fuel consumption.
Hybrids are achieving reduced CO2 with the higher fuel economy.
Part of this is reducing the rpm range where the engine will be working. Allowing more refined tuning.
Toyota hybrids never idle. A higher emissions mode.

These Hybrid engines may be the perfect solution for those who live where they cannot charge at home. It will cost much less per mile to fuel and maintain these, than to have to rely solely on public DC fast charging for a battery electric vehicle. HOWEVER, If you can charge at home, you're likely better off, going for pure EV. These won't slow the adoption of EV's, but these are the perfect transition during the transition to full electric. This concept is also the perfect thing for trucks, that need to pull trailers for long distances.
