Wow! Best version I've heard next to the original and honestly a contender against that. Truly outstanding. Voice is spot on and you can absolutely rock the 'zouk! Just wow! Love it
I've been trying to chase down a video of someone that could play the Queen properly for *ages*. And you, my friend, have nailed it. I had a suspicion that it was played on the bouzouki rather than guitar. I've got a tablature for guitar, and let me tell you, getting the right note sequences with guitar tuning is next to impossible. Terminal case of pretzel fingers. Looks like I've got to get a bouzouki and learn how to play it. Yet another point on my list of justifying the expense to my wife.
Channeling the late, great Andy M. Steward .... and the vibe of The Great Scots band, Silly Wizard. (I had most all their albums, and had the privilege of attending a concert, in Newport RI, as I recall.)
great version of a great tune... and the slow smile the bodhran player gives at the end is purely golden. You know you're doing something right when you earn a smile like that.
It sounds just like my childhood! Nostalgic. I remember my dad used to replay this song over n over in his car while driving me all over when I was a kid.
I bought a bouzouki..tuned it to GDAD ...and slowed it down by half.... It is the song I wanted to learn,...,,anybody have it tabbed? ...probably buy a bodrhan next,...
TijnB42, I have been a fan of yours for over 7 years now. You inspired me to start playing the Bouzouki. Thank you so much! But I’ve never been able to lock down the Queen if Argyll. Could you post the tabs? Or maybe share a tutorial video? Or share any advice for learning the song? Many thanks, Cheers
Excellent music, and voice. Very enjoyable. Am glad to be subscribed. It would have been nice if the mic didn't hide the view of Suzanne's Bodhran playing.
It's not that I'm Greek, in fact in the past I disliked it, but now I think bouzouki is the best or most versatile 4-stringed instrument in the world. Much more, in the hands of a skilled player!
Yours is my favorite version of a great song with the best lyrics ever. I've listened 50 times and haven't quite nailed the subtle changes of the melody, but I'm going to try recording it. And what is your full name please, TijnB42? Great musicianship!
Thanks! Alas, it is not - my albums are both home productions and only available from me, either as a physical CD or a digital download. Contact me through info@tijnberends.com for more info.

I can't find the words to express my appreciation for what you've done here. A righteous cover if ever there was one.
You do honor to Silly Wizard !!! Bravo to you both !!!

Such musicality - the real thing. Expressive as anything....

Wonderfully correct chording and rhythm/percussion...
awesome!

Think I've listened to this 50 times this week, pure class and such character in your playing. Best version of the queen of Argyll!

Νταξει ο Θανάσης ο Παπακωνσταντίνου κι ο Χαρούλης ναι, αλλά άμα πάμε σε Κιάμο Οικονομόπουλο με χάνεις
Nailed it.
Truly great ! I’d like to know if I can do this on an octave mandolin ?

When are you doing tour to Australia? Would love to see you here.
Thanks :) As soon as I get a booking there I'll come over!
I like your version better than the Original. Yours has more energy!
good shit
What tuning is your bouzouki tuned to?
Geweldige performance. Andy zou er trots op zijn!
Zou het mogelijk zijn om hier de tabs van te krijgen? Akkoorden tabs voldoen al. Alvast bedankt.
A great rendition! Are you in ADAD tuning by chance?
Also I just googled 'itchy fingers scratching the surface' looking for your album and now my Facebook keeps suggesting wart cream 😂
Haha, nice! Do you think there's a big market for traditional Irish wart cream?
@@TijnB42 haha a very warty lot us Irish 😅
Wow! Rockin' bouzouki! How long have you been playing?
can you please do a tutorial for the intro?
More Bodhran
Hi there i wonder if you could confirm what the tuning is on that particular bazouki
Fantastic as usual! Keep it up. Is your album on Pandora or Spotify by any chance?
Thanks! Alas, it is not - my albums are both home productions and only available from me, either as a physical CD or a digital download. Contact me through info@tijnberends.com for more info.
