Surely if brown noise did work wear ear protection wouldn't prevent it's effects? As ear protection only prevents the oscillations reaching your ears, not you whole body.
calm callum we always like to wear ear protection here at the brainiac labs as we have a chimpanzee running around loose with a flamethrower. He will burn your ears off if your not careful. We hope your question has been answered

its a noise at a weird freaquency that lossens ur bowls and makes u shit urself ^^
While this is fake, it is true that certain sound frequencies can induce vomiting and great stomach pain.
Got that toilet roll out for nothing. Anyone else feel a weird twitch in your leg at times when listening to it? It's a strange noise to be sure.
Went to my bathroom sat on my toilet, turned this up real loud and....... nothing. If one works send it to me. There could be endless fun to be had for me.
@lollollipop97 Also if it works by causing resonance in your colon it would have to actually vibrate your colon to start with so I'm guessing the noise would have to be extreamly loud! But then again you must be able to alter the natural frequency of your colon by moving about/clenching.

it affected me. the problem with this is that i don't think that my speakers can produce the sound right and the same goes for tv speakers.
I did this on Audacity in Music Class this morning, and I have to admitt, shortly afterwards I let out a huge fart :S
It only works on large sub speakers preferably the ones you get at concerts. It has to be 17.2 Gz for it to have an effect which is below humans' hearing of 20Gz

Brown noise didn't do anything to me probably because this is a RUclips video and that's stopping brown noise from making me crap myself. I still think that I should have listened to this while sitting on the toilet.

the sound has to be pure. i heared it will only work out of the machine creating it, not if its a recording
Why do they cover their ears if the sound is inaudible?
The "crap" effect is said to be because of the shaking.
For brown noise to work, the sound needs to be very strong. You can't blast a speaker at someone and expect them to crap their pants. You need the frequency to vibrate through their body. Ie they need to pretty much sit on the speaker that can replicate that frequency for it to work. How do I know this? Becuase I rode a mini moto that for some reason replicated brown noise through the seat and I shit my self. I promise its true and it works but you need alot of energy for it to work. The seat vibrated at that frequency I crapped myself. Unless you sit on a huge sub woofer, it won't work with out some real vibrating power.

Brainiac obviously didn't have all the conditions right. Hz: 22.275. dB: 120+. Speaker location (obviously able to handle 22- Hz) at least within a metre of the subject. Your clip did nothing for me. However two other clips DID have effects! I have good audio equipment connected to my computer. I had the digital volume on the clip maxed, as well as my Tandy MPA 250S amp cranked. Speakers were 1.5 m present. TWICE (at different times) I wound up shitting my pants! Had to change and shower!
i watched it on tv this morning and i wasn;t far from it, m stomach turned and i bolted to then to the toliet.. i watched it on my computer again to see if it would do the same thing twice and it didn't.
It's only funny because they match the frequency of autonomic colon signals. If they match the frequency for beating the heart it could kill someone.
The very low hum is the noise which is supposed to be the correct frequency to resonate your digestive system and make you poo yourself, yes.. thats the noise.
To be honest, I think you need to play it pretty loud for it to actually have any affect.. and these guys wearing ear muffs would not protect them at all, as it's actually the sound hitting and passing through your abdomen that causes the effect.

it's nothing to do with being able to hear it, it's what it does when it vibrates your body

WRONG frequency! That was 100 Hz! It is supposed to be something like 22.275 Hz! I tried that alone with high powered speakers by my gut and my 250 watt per channel stereo RadioShack PA amp. Nearly blew speakers out, but IT WORKED! I had to run to bathroom almost immediately!

unless your subwoofer is up to par with theirs you wont get the full effect imo, not saying that this "brown noise" would work anyway

I've been holding in a BM for about a half hour while watching a movie so I listened to see if it made me have to go. Not anymore than usual but I'm gonna go unload anyway ;) Oh, I got audiophile studio monitors and an audiophile 2496 sound card which has a 22 hz-22 khz range and infrasound is 20hz and below, correct? So how can this ever work except in person or with a sound card capable of such frequencies?

We need to have in consideration that most of the speakers,despite how good they are,they just LACK of the size to make they produce the vibrations with that much intensity,thay make the vibration,but not with the intensity needed,my suggestion:get speakers of the size used in the metal concerts and then play the brown noise
i didn't shit my self but it made my things fall of my shelf the 800watt sub woofer and 200mid base speakers made an effect on my belongings. lol
