The other tree is better, as you rarely need that frontline, and if you ever do, you wouldn't need to buff the frontline regardless, the damage dealers are the sisters regardless. Being able to recruit sisters in 1 turn is game changing, plus 10 MD on sisters local forces is a LOT

The only time that kind of situation is relevant is when you've got an army bearing down on you and you need a defense force RIGHT NOW, but keeping spare ROR around for that is better. Plus, if you're playing your cards right Sisters should never be getting into melee to begin with. Blood and Fire buffs aren't necessarily anything special either, but I think they offer a bit more pizazz than some meager diplomacy/economy buffs that wont do much in the face of HE's already absurd economy, a melee defense buff for a hyper-powerful ranged unit, and the admittedly handy ability to recruit Handmaidens anywhere in your turf. As for the Chaos bit, that's just something she has innately, but rarely comes into play naturally. So it's fun to wrangle situations up where your tree units are angry blenders by taking already corrupted land to increase your average corruption.

I always find it funny that while her lore and personality stays the same in TW, the way that people play her is closer to her AoS incarnation where she's less of a rather laid back motherly protector and more of a furious ass-kicking amazon goddess.

before I completed my DLC collection AI Avelorn was usually able to keep up with Eataine (with the help of the sword of khaine of course) to the point even with all the rituals done Avelorn would remain independent and not confederate with him, usually even confederating Nagarythe herself. Was really helpful in my Lizardman campaign to keep her on friendly enough terms not to join Tyrion in forever-war with me lol. But ever since Rakarth became a thing the Dark Elves ALWAYS win the elf-wars... I never even meet Alith Anar anymore unless I'm playing in Naggaroth
I've done my only full map completion with that girl! Why? Becasue green is my favourite colour :P But defending Naggarond before it confederated Har Ganeth? That's pretty impressive. In my campaign Malekith and Hellebron went for the usual exile on the Dragon Isles.
in my last 4 campaigns (sisters of twilight, empire, vlad von carstein and ikit) morathi conquers all of ulthuan by turn 50, and then confederates with naggaroth proving that malekith is nothing but a simp for his mom. Malkith for his part usually conquers the entire north, preparing it for his mother. the only high elves who survive is usually alith anar, who hang on just barely in the straits of fear.

In my campaign as the Empire I sent some money to Tyrion a couple of times and it seemed to do the trick. Well, I don't remember if he actually defeated Morathi but he drove her out of Ulthuan.
Sisters of Twilight came and replaced her as the best, in my opinion. Their bonuses to missile damage, reload time, and max ammo are unbelievably ridiculous. Plus ambushing, forest stalking, fire while moving 190 circular range archers are just ridiculously OP.

However, I think of you capitalize on post loot early as possible with the added bonus of the Sister’s map movement mechanics you’ll have an edge economically over almost all other factions, even into late game when the upkeep cost buffs kick in.
When playing as Vladdy daddy Alarielle once brought me the sword of Khaine to Reikland for no reason at all, no war with me or my neighbors just a leisurely stroll...never again have I had the meta give me such an op gift. Blooddrinker is good, but muh gawd Vlad+sword of Khaine.
And then when the AI is controlling her in every single campaign she has the Sword of Khaine by like turn 5 somehow and begins a murderous rampage across the world.

On legendary difficulty, you only ever need the sisters of avelorn.
Get her boyfriend Tyrion confederated and literally nothing can stop the infinite healing and infinite killing potential.
Aside from the player pulling some mega-chrese, that is. Player trumps all, given a long enough timespan.
Imba Alariel is when she will be inside the Nagarythe Confederate.
