      Hi, my soil mix is 60% potting mix, 30% compost and 10% Worm casting.
      And In the Fall and late Winter at pruning time I topped them with another 2 inches compost.
      And every 2 years, I removed as much soil on top and replaced with new mix.

    I am astounded that you know the names of every single rose! This is a beautiful paradise and something I aspire to have. The health of the roses even in pots! How do you overwinter them? Do you need to fertilize often? I would love to know how you keep them so healthy in pots.

    Mary Ann you have outdone yourself! Seriously 2 years?? Incredible and you are so attuned to each one. I am in awe that most of them are in pots?! What do you use for treating black spot?

    • @MaryAnnsRoseParadise-se6bd
      @MaryAnnsRoseParadise-se6bd Год назад +1

      Thank you so much, I don’t use anything, I just pick the diseased leaves when I see them, but in general black spot is not an issue in our area but Powdery Mildew is. With PW I also don’t use anything, I’m refraining myself cause I want my roses to build their own resistance to diseases. and I also rely on Beneficial insects like the Mildew Eating beetles that are plentiful in my garden

    Thanks for sharing, really like seeing before photos too, saved this to my Rose folder. Always love seeing hummers from other areas, wish we had others here on the east coast. Mine always let me know when they're here, then the boy processes to run the girls off the feeders.

    A beautiful disease free rose garden. How in earth do you winterize your pots? I have alot of black walnuts trees mayor I should try the containers but I don't know the best way to winterize them.

      Hello, I never protected any of my roses in Winter, we have mild Winters in our area. Last year we had a very cold snap to -12C with windchills of -21C and I did not lose a single one.

    Just a 2 year garden, and in pots? Are they 15 gallon pots? And part shade is a blessing nowadays...

    • @MaryAnnsRoseParadise-se6bd
      @MaryAnnsRoseParadise-se6bd Год назад +1

      Most of them in pots but there’s more than 50 in ground, the upper tier are in ground. They are in 20” pots and yes, all partial shade. We have trees all around sun range from 2-5max and dappled bright shade all day.
