  • This is how I typically set my MAZ18NR, volume and master near max, and then riding the volume knob of the guitar to go from clean to saturated.
I usually use my attenuator, but I had the house to myself that morning, so I decided to do another video with the amp cranked. It gets very loud, so I was wearing my ear plugs.
You get 90% of the way there with the attenuator, but the interaction between the guitar and the amp isn't quite the same as when you're playing loud. Very addictive!
Using my Francis Guitar Telecaster here, captured with a Heil PR30 (straight to the Audient ID14), and I mixed in a little bit of the iPhone mic as well to get a better representation of what it sounded like in the room).

I love playing loud too, kudos to you for mentioning the hearing protection! Sounding fantastic man.

Thanks man, we only get a set of ears, and as musicians, they’re our bread and butter, so important to preserve them!

Ear protectors?..... Its too loud and your neighbours hate you..... Next thing is an abatement order and they fine you and confiscate your gear..... Use headphones or head to the country far away..., 🎸

that's a good point. I'm lucky to live in a detached house, and my music room is in the basement, which has been soundproofed by the people who did the renos (I think they were planning on having a Home Theater down there and crank the volume while watching movies). My neighbours never complained, and I keep asking them when I run these experiments.
But yes, I would recommend using caution when doing this at home, the volume is pretty insane!
