Miguel's inclusion to the big screen is such a a big milestone in the eyes of longtime Spider-Man fans. Miguel was the successor to the Spider-Man mantle from Peter Parker back in the 1990s comics. He was arguably the Spider-Man that really cemented the "anyone can wear the mask" philosophy, all the way back in 1992. He was created to be almost an exact opposite of Peter Parker. He is super serious, his 'jokes' borders on mean-spirited instead of witty, and he will kill if he has to, unlike Peter Parker. Miguel comes from a time period in the Marvel timeline so ruthless that Dr. Doom of all people is considered one of the good guys. Imagine the world of Cyberpunk 2077... and add in superpowered Marvel shenanigans on top of it. It gets kinda messed up.
This was indeed The Dark Knight of all animated movies.

I love how well Miguel as a villain represents the fundamental flaw of the Spider Society’s doctrine: that Spider-People are defined by their trauma and that their trauma is essential.

Yeah I feel like that’s also the problem with fans even me, most of us love our heroes to have some kind of tragedy, or darkness that follows
Also most of the fanbase, specially with Tom Holland's spiderman, calling for him to suffer so "he becomes the real spider-man"
I also love how Miguel is the total opposite of your friendly neighborhood Spider Man. The scenes between Peter and him represents that perfectly.
I think the best parts are when you consider the deeper stuff. No normal version of Spider-man is okay with people dying, even enemies, yet Miguel would probably clap if officer Singh died. There's also the odd similarities, like, the importance of Ben Parker's death was that it allowed Peter a chance to understand the importance of responsibility, and the death of people Miguel knew did the same for him, but Miguel is prideful and takes the lesson a step further, believing that everyone should learn it even against their will.
@smileyhappyface5864 I don't agree with some of the points here. Miguel is hardened, but does not applaud death. He simply sees it as paramount to preserve the Spiderverse. He has a mindset that says "sacrifice the one for the good of the many" and that comes with a lot of moral dilemma. I'm not saying Miguel is in the right, I'm saying he's dealing with an extremely multifaceted issue that he's looking at through the lens of someone who lost everything and whose universe is one of the most cutthroat and ruthless in Marvel comics. It's exceedingly interesting to me.

My Heart sank so hard when it became clear that Miles was NOT back in his Universe...
It's such a good reveal that was subtly teased when the go home machine says Earth 42 and when Miguel said "the spider that gave you your powers wasn't from your dimension it was never supposed to bite you" but they're blink and you'll miss it moments so when the reveal happens every little tease makes it hit that much harder
For those of you wondering, Spider-Man 2099 is 6 ft 9. The crazy thing about the movies making Uncle Ben's death the thing that inspired Peter to become Spider-Man is the fact that in the comics his death is treated more like just a tragic inconvenience/event that happened and it's actually Aunt May saying that "with great power comes great responsibility " that inspires Peter to become Spider-Man.
I already knew Beyond the Spider-Verse was going to be delayed, even before the film and animation strikes in Hollywood started escalating (which won’t stop hurting me since I strive to enter the animation industry) and causing an indefinite delay on the movie. Obviously, they’re going to finish the trilogy, and many said Beyond the Spider-Verse MIGHT release 2026, but I’m pretty sad with how things hav been going 😢 Regardless, HOW THE HELL ARE THEY GONNA TOP THIS?! 😂

My reaction wasn't the only one. As the music began to come to a climax, I could hear whispering. Then when the 'To be continued' popped up. Me and like 5 people said, "Ain't no f*cking way!" or "Are you kidding?!"
Ok so I've been hearing a lot of people calling Miguel a fake a** Spider-Man, when he is literally MORE Spider-Man than the other Spider-Men. His DNA is 50% Spider and 50% Human, He may not have Spider-Sense but he still relies on his physical abilities.
There’s more to a Spider Man then just DNA. It’s about being able to extend a hand and not just only a fist.
@Otisboy121 Miguel does save people. But the circumstances of his reality are so different from the rest of the Spiderverse that saving everyone who is ever in danger is almost impossible, and it's made him jaded. He's not a traditional Spider-man, but he's a Spider-man nonetheless.

Man PEAK has arrived yet again also, if you’re wondering why Miguel didn’t use his spider sense to dodge vultures attack 5:59 it’s because he’s different from the rest of the Spider-Man/woman because he injected himself with something, and he has sharp claws, vampire teeth and enhanced supervision and since he was bitten by a radioactive spider, he didn’t get his Spidey sense
This is all wrong Miguel was never bitten by a spider he mixed his DNA with his own and is 50% spider that's what he has claws and fangs like real spiders do that's why he didn't get spidersense

Super Strength
Heightened senes(instead of Spidey-sense)
Talons to climb up walls
Fangs with Paralyzing Venom to subdue people

7:58 so in the comics Miguel has Venom in his fangs that can paralyze people so he was going to bite Vulture so he wouldn't be so difficult to subdue
He also doesn't have a spidey sense which is why Vulture was able to sneak up on him
Watch 37:27 frame for frame. I read somewhere that in one frame, it shows all the spider people dead on a cracked floor, a possible teaser for BTSV (beyond the spider verse), since all those are canon events. So either it will have a bad ending with everyone dead, or Miles will break the canon and prove Miguel wrong, most likely the latter. Either way, while Spot was Villain of the Week, BTSV will be movie of the century!

Me and my cousins usually only watch movies in theaters once because they're expensive ($20 for each of us and there were 7 of us). But this movie was so good we decided to go watch it a 2nd time 💀💀

The one thing I confused is that How is Miles the original anomaly? The Alchemist Scientists were the ones that brought spider 42 to Earth 1610, and it was only after the bite that Gwen showed up to his universe. Another question is that when Peter Parker died in the first movie. Why didn’t they show that as a canon event? Sure, that may not be the case for all spider men but it was Miles’ motivation to continue the legacy.
This movie was so good. The only things I see that the previous movie did better was with the music(this one is like an inch apart) and acted more like a story than a continuation for the sequel(again this one did pretty well with that).
It is one of best animated movies and spider man movies I seen in my life other than venom and spider man no way home 3 movies that leave me in amazement

So the movie was absolutely incredible and I loved every second of it with the animation,the new characters and the growth of miles,Also be coming what it means to be Spider-Man. And with the hidden cameos and the cliffhanger, which is by the way, the worst cliffhanger I have ever saw because now we have to wait a long time, it was extremely fun/heartfelt/Serious/some times scary, and it’s definitely one of the best movies I have seen, but I would like to put my opinion on the “Canon event,”to me I don’t really agree with the canon event because it’s saying that someone always has to die so the world will be OK, and I don’t agree with that, considering Spider-Man no way home, had a similar idea of trying to prevent the villains death that already was supposed to happen, but Peter was able to prevent it, and I know for a fact that in the next movie miles is going to find a way to prevent it, but other than that, I truly enjoy the movie, and I love your reaction to this entire thing because I can tell how much you loved it, either way hope you and your family. The animation was really really ART
2099 spiderman wasn't bitten by a spider i think he was genetically modified, he doesn't have certain powers other spider people have, like spider sense and he can't stick to walls but he has replacement for them. He can't stick to any surface so he has claws and talons to climb and stuff, and he doesn't have spider sense but he has enhanced vision and hearing.
Miguel also has fangs that can inject venom, his suit allows him to glide on air currents, make mirages and also gives him camouflage.
He also has an alternative white suit which was shown in the movie sonewhere in the background. Which will most likely appear in the next movie

I don't know if it is seen as bad manners in the US to say "whatever " to your parents but I like the french dialogue more for the purpose of the scene.
