I purchased this very watch, but with the newest 80 movement. The attractiveness for me was the day/date complication, I just love it. I need to know my day of the week. I does remind me of a dear Timex watch I owned when I was a teenager, many many years ago. I don’t t see this complication often anymore. In this newer Powermatic 80 version of the Visidste, the colors of the day/date complication change from black print on a white background to the reverse, white print over a black background, which intensifies the black look of the watch. Also both the hour and minute hands are a little longer. The case size increases from 40mm to 42mm. Love this watch, but indeed, I would pay a little more to get an anti-reflective layer applied the glass.
Great review - really thorough and you helped answer a lot of questions I had. I guess the lack of AR on the sapphire could be deliberate on the part of Tissot to make the watch more sparkly and striking. Of course like you said, the down side is the difficulty reading the time sometimes due to the extreme reflective quality! However this is imo the best looking dress watch under $500 by a margin and I also love the fact it also has a day complication as I am often forgetting what the day of the week it is. I can see why you are reluctant to part with it.
I’ve tried the white dial version and it really does dress smaller than the actual size. Might get it pre-owned. Good combo with that mesh strap. I see that you’ve since sold the watch.
I own a tissot visodate ... I love it many people complain that the glass dont have anti reflection ...yes true . .but its a heritige watch at that time this type of glass didnt exist so i dont mind ! :)
I like this watch better in white the day date blends much nicer in my opinion and less problem with glare. I have a black jazzmaster beautiful case and dial but no anti reflection coating. I do love that mesh you put on it real flashy.
The mesh makes this watch, in my opinion. I still have my eyes on that rose gold jazzmaster chrono, though. And I agree about the black dial. If I were going for a white dial, there are a lot better options out there.
Stumbled upon your channel when you were talking about dating, courting, marriage to watches and watched a few other of your vids. Great channel. I have the gold Visodate case w gold indices with white face and wear it as an every day watch for to work (along with a Jazzmaster GMT). I've had to change out leather strap bc it was pressed composite and the gold plating is wearing off on the lugs on the highest edges which is a disappointment. But the Visodate is sentimental for me as I was wearing this watch when my baby was born and held her for the first time so, despite its imperfections, I'll keep it for a bit.
Beautiful watch - but I just don't like the big white day date. I know that is sort of the namesake. But I feel like it would be nicer either black or gone.
Excellent combination. That strap is truly the way to run the Visodate. I personally would go with the Jazzmaster and is what I'm eyeing for my next purchase. I've had the Piloy Day date (Interstellar) and the quality is absolute. I'm looking forward to getting the Jazzmaster. I had the Sieko Sarb033 but had to return it because it where's infinitesimally small.. nice video btw.
A new subscriber and I enjoy your style of presentation As for the watch, well the date is an issue, but making the background black instead of white would have gone a long way towards making the watch more enjoyable. You can get a sense of what I am talking about by looking at the Visodate with the white dial and the white background for the day/date.
I have one too and dammit, it’s impossible to tell the time. Out of my nine watches, this is the worst for reflections, by far. Should’ve gotten the white one.
thanks! i have been thinking about this model for a long while, even though the price is a little offputting...i think after seeing the jazzmaster, i am more inclined that way....
hello sir, great review, im in between from getting my first swiss automatic, visodate, and le locle, what are their diffrences, which would you recommend more?
The official Tissot mesh is difficult to find, unless you buy it with the watch. The watchgecko mesh I bought went great with it. (Link in the description).
I love this watch as an everyday..to me this is too thick to be a proper dress watch..the Crystal is less casual more dressy..but the dial with its 60s styling/font is again less dressy
Hi :), I have been watching your posts thank you , and today I decided to Subscribe :) , I need you advise please I am between three deals from the AD in UAE to buy: 1- a Tudor latest day date st steel, with st steel bracelet , but I came across 2- a fantastic beauty by Cartier the Ronde solo st steel bracelet but I dint have the Omega speed-master man on the moon in my collection my collection includes a Rolex ternograph, tessot visiodate, some so many swatch watches, two kolber watches, a Bernard H Mayer, a Raymond weil vintage pleas feel free to advise other than the three above!! Thanks in advance Tarek
Tarek Mabrouk - It seems to me that either the Cartier or the Omega would be the next step in your collection. Of course I'm partial to the Omega because of its classic design and versatility. You have quite a few casual dress pieces, and the Speedmaster can function both as dress casual or a sporty watch. The Tudor is nice, but isn't that a similar design to the turn-o-graph? Those are three great choices, so good luck!
Dave's Watch Love Thank you very much. Especially for the quick reply and your review. Mine changes 4 minutes before midnight and the reseller is telling me this is normal.
Four second before midnight, sure. But four minutes? That doesn't sound right. A minute before or after midnight seems reasonable. But outside those parameters is questionable.
@@DavesWatchLove What's questionable about that? It could be adjusted to change exactly at midnight yes, but really not worth the trouble. In some watches it's more than few minutes off.
you dont put lune on a dress watch its not for diving or hiking its for when you are dressed nice: either a professional at work or out for a date/dinner etc. you dont want to have a green light on your arm when you are at the theater
Never call a watch crystal a glass, whether it's made of glass or plastic, it's always called a watch-crystal. Just as there's no such thing as a watch band, it's either a strap or a bracelet.
They are both glasses, really. Band is also a completely acceptable word. You are just trying to look like more than you are which is quite silly. It's not like that many people are even reading your comment.
Seiko does cut some corners sometimes, yes. They are more than capable of keeping great time though, if not from the box, after adjustment. My first Seiko 5 was +-2 seconds, per WEEK.

Was watching Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window last night and in a scene they cut to the face of his Tissot watch.
Black dial + Milanese is amazingly beautiful, only problem with black dial on Visodate is too much réflexion compared to white dial. Nice video !
Good review, I've opted for the white dial visodate

Stephen Lee - When you can connect an event like that to a timepiece, then you've really created something of value. Thanks for sharing the story.

Michael Willems - the glare due to lack of AR coating turned out to be the deal-breaker for me and why I ended up selling it.
But the bling gets me compliments all the time lol

The Jazzmaster is a great choice. Such variety in the line.

Seiko Cocktail Time would be a great choice too
Yeah that constant reflection does take away from what is otherwise a great watch.
Hi i want to buy this watch but it seems Tissot does not manufacture anymore. any idea where can i find a new one ?
isparoz Try Jomashop if you comfortable with the grey market. I've also seen it at my local jeweler who carries Tissot, so they should be out there.
I’ll definitely sell you mine.....gold plated white dial I have never worn it..... it was a gift from my brother. I’m into divers not my style.
200, 300$? Where? I didn managed to find any place that sell it below 450$. New, with original warranty.
I purchased mine used and found a really good deal. But that sounds about right for a new piece.
The dial on that Tissot would be perfect if not for that awful day/date complication. Otherwise, I’d absolutely buy it. Damn... :(
Now if you could put the quartz Visodate dial on your automatic Visodate. Wow
Don't suppose anyone knows where to get the tissot mesh strap. Can't find it anywhere online

Neuro agreed!
What’s the daily accuracy of the watch??
+- 2 seconds.

@Dave
When does your date change? Exactly at midnight or a few minutes before? Thanks
Chris tian - On this one, it's right at midnight.

Four second before midnight, sure. But four minutes? That doesn't sound right. A minute before or after midnight seems reasonable. But outside those parameters is questionable.
I’ve read a few times online that some people’s visodates day and date complications flip at 11:56pm
@@DavesWatchLove What's questionable about that? It could be adjusted to change exactly at midnight yes, but really not worth the trouble. In some watches it's more than few minutes off.
Can this watch fit in small size wrist???
It fits more like a 38mm will fit most small wrists
this watch shoulf of come at 42mm as well.
Thought that hamilton looks terrible sorry
2835, not 2824-2. The 2824 doesn’t have the day.
Michael Willems - Yes, thanks for that correction.
If you want to be technical about this...it's a 2836-2
I need a lume. It's a no.

Tomasina Covell You obviously don't know much about watches. There is mineral crystal and saphire glass.
They are both glasses, really. Band is also a completely acceptable word. You are just trying to look like more than you are which is quite silly. It's not like that many people are even reading your comment.
Luckily you didn't buy Seiko. Seiko always cuts corners and can't keep proper time.
