    Beautiful, classy, understated Gentleman's timepiece!
    I bought a Tissot PR50 in Torremolinos Spain 🇪🇸 when I was 16 years old on a school trip from the good ole US of A 🇺🇸 , and wore that thing every single day of my teenage years thereafter. Now my wife wears it every day. That was 20 years ago. The sapphire crystal is still flawless and the thing just keeps going!

      That is good to know, the longevity of your timepiece is amazing! I love to hear stories of timepieces being handed down or shared :) It gives "timeless" a good meaning!

    Agree 100%... Love that script logo of Tissot... Have this watch and put it on a light gray, real alligator band and it looks stunning, since the dial has a light gray tinge to it...! Love it

    Looks great, both watch and box presentation like you said. It's a great size too. I gotta agree with what you said, the white [ceramic in particular] looks so much better with that 1930's, old automobile-esque font vs the black and silver variant.

      Thanks man! I've always wanted a nice white dial automatic watch. I have small wrists so I can't make any case larger than 40 look good. One of these days I need to try on a 36mm sized watch. Now I need a black dial with gold indices lol...this hobby will never cease to lighten my wallet:) I've got another watch on the way in a the next few days. Nothing that breaks the bank too much tho.

      I’ve always liked big, bulky watches and never liked dressy watches much. Then I saw the movie drive and thought “that white face with leather band is actually really understated and classy.” So I’ve been looking for a watch in that vein that suits ME. This is the watch for sure. It reminds me of the odometer on an older muscle car. Really stylish and just a perfect watch for what I’m looking for

    My guess is it's vis like fizz... because the date is visible - hence vis-o-date

    • @Mister_Phafanapolis
      @Mister_Phafanapolis 4 года назад +2

      I've heard some pronounce it as Vice-o-Date. I, however, think that's wholly incorrect.

  • @theverbalremedy
    @theverbalremedy 5 лет назад +13

    This should be no larger than 38mm. This trend to make dress watches at 40mm or more is just an insult to the style of watch.

    • @darkchild57
      @darkchild57  5 лет назад +2

      I think the Visodate would love great at 36mm. It would certainly fit my child sized wrists much better lol! I agree, it's not very stylish wearing a huge wall clock on your arm.

    • @TheDude4077
      @TheDude4077 5 лет назад +5

      I mean people with large wrists exist dude. I have 8 inch wrists, 40mm on me looks like how 35mm looks on most people. I'm glad this watch is the size it is, because if it was smaller it'd look like a ladies dress watch on me.

    • @darkchild57
      @darkchild57  5 лет назад +1

      @@TheDude4077 I get where you are coming from . I have nothing against that statement. I am from the perspective of the classic sized watches of the past, my childhood. People with large wrists still wore 36mm watches, simply because that was the normal style. When I was a child 38mm was considered "oversized". It's just that times are much different. In the 70's most watches were averaging around the 32mm mark. It's more of a trend in some cases. In your case I would agree that if you have larger wrists you would be able to close that wrist to watch ratio with a larger watch.

    • @shawn1928

      @TheVerbalRemedy if you got a very small wrist, i can see how that's problem. but 40mm is fine for the average wrist

    There is a number before the day
    ( 6 SUN) what's that ? Does this apply to all displaced days of the week? Can you choose not showing ?

    • @miketodd6477
      @miketodd6477 4 года назад +3

      Good morning. I'm not the chap who posted the video but I have had one of these watches for a number of years. The number before the day is the number of the day in the week, I suppose if English isn't your language you can still recognise that Sunday is the 7th day in the week. You can choose whether or not it will show the day number or just the day (eg 7 SUN or just SUN). There isn't a 6 shown but 16, which the day of the month. So in the video it is Sunday the 16th, of whatever month. I hope this helps.

    Nice design but shame that it is in the "modern" larger size of 40mm. They should have release this in 36mm with a lug to lug of 44mm, and thinned it to a 10mm.

    • @darkchild57
      @darkchild57  5 лет назад

      I agree, I would have like to see a smaller size. I tried the larger watches but I just could never get into them. I do still own a few, but rarely wear them. I gravitate towards 38mm and smaller.

    Excellent watch all around, just can't stand those short hands, especially the minute hand. Not one person in the world would prefer short instead of long hands, so not sure about that particular design decision. It's a big flaw in my eyes.
