I like the Viso. Lots of great details-- great blue. Quality watch at it's pricepoint. Date aperture won't ever be popular with collectors but has mass appeal.
Great review, as usual. I cannot agree more about comparison between Visodate and Seiko SARB, and I'm die-hard Seiko fan. Being able to either own or try both watches on several occasions, I'm adamant that this Tissot presents much better value for money. IMO, it is much more sophisticated watch, with far superior movement and impeccable build quality. SARB is a wonderful watch, but I strongly recommend checking out Tissot's offering from time to time...
Interesting to hear your first-hand experiences. I spent a lot of time mulling over the visodate vs the Orient Star Classic. I looked at and tried on the Viso about 5 or 6 times in different shops. There was something about it in person I didn't like - it felt like it was lacking something - maybe some brushed surfaces to contrast the high polish and also the dial seemed a bit one dimensional dispite the amazing design. I always felt disappointed because I loved the Viso look so much in videos and photos but in person was underwhelmed. The Orient Star doesn't have quite as much flair but I am so impressed with the quality and finishing of the dial. Imo, close-up it feels and looks more expensive and classy than the Viso .
I have the black dial version with the Milanese Mesh strap. The blue looks fantastic, but the white day/date seems to stand out even more. It does look good with a tan strap though
I loved the black dial Viso but this is a different level looks-wise- the sunburst blue is fantastic. My favourite dress watch I think. Aesthetically it also blows the Sarb033 completely out of the water imo.
jacc88888 as an owner of a Seiko SARB033, I might have to second you on that opinion. This Visodate is genuinely something else. Lovely, lovely timepiece.
qadrik Well, always a nice thing to acquire an extra watch! Though to be fair, with it’s lume and AR coating the Sarb is definitely a more legible and versatile watch than the Tissot.
I have the black version, and it's very challenging in many conditions to see the actual time. Still looks great though, but mine is +30s a day, so could use some adjustment.
I was looking at trying to find a SARB029 JDM for that vintage look, but man, the white dial Tissot Visodate looks better at half the price with a higher beat movement. Compelling value for sure.
I have this watch and the Seiko SARB, this watch is more sophisticated as compared to the Seiko. Also, the domed sapphire crystal just make this watch a beauty on the wrist. Nothing against the Seiko, but it feels cheap compared to this guy. Great video production Bruce, keep them coming!
Interesting..I have a sarb033 and a white visodate. The visodate looks more sleek but objectively the sarb build quality is better. In fact, the case finishing on the visodate is not even in the same league as the sarb.
Enrain2233 Yeah, the Sarb with it’s mix of brushes and polished surfaces does seem more refined but design wise I much prefer the look of the Viso, the Sarb is a very conservative, safe looking watch, but each to their own.
I want to buy a Tissot Automatic for my 30th, I’m torn between the LeLocle powermatic with the white face, or this visodate. I love the blue here. So hard to choose
Nice video review. I am seriously considering buying that watch myself. That tan strap really works well with the watch. Where does that strap come from? (Sorry if you have already covered that).
This, with black dial, was my first choice for my first dress / formal watch. But at 40mm it just weared huge on my 6'' wrist. Same for the Le Locle. So I went for my Seiko Presage SRP467J2: still a 40mm, but wears slightly smaller and offers the same quality (if not more) for 100 bucks less. But if Tissot would make this in 36mm, I'd pick it immediately. Period.
I love tissot owen 3 of them from eta Auto to quartz I was ready to pull the trigger on this one Tissot Visodate Black dial leather then boom crazy crazy glare glare on the sapphire crystal dial couldn't see the logo or hands plus it not black more like dark grey doesn't feel or sit like a 40mm more like a 36mm on the wrist
@@BruceWilliams I didn't think about that, I liked the explanation you gave in another comment! I prefer the white dial having seen all three colors in person but those short hands have kept me from getting one. Awesome video as always by the way!

I don't like the date window. I don't like the reflections. I don't like the watch proportions. It's chunky and it sits up too high on the wrist. Not one for me thanks.
It’s just so.. boring. I have a hard time getting into dress watches, I’m a diver fan myself, but as for the esthetic of this watch, I just don’t see it 😅
Very sharp watch. Very good value for the bucks. I prefer this over the SARB..
What a beautiful watch especially with the retro script
I have a tissot but i wasnt aware of this viso date. It's a beauty!! Vintage watch
I really love this beautiful tissot!!
Man, I could love the visodate but I think that white day date it's a punch in the Eye.
Maybe the white dial works better...
I love the Visodate. Great piece!
I'm a sucker for a good blue dial. Stunning.
I like the Viso. Lots of great details-- great blue. Quality watch at it's pricepoint. Date aperture won't ever be popular with collectors but has mass appeal.
I just bought that exact one, your review convinced me, thanks!!
Reminds me of my old PR516GL. Which I still love.
For the money I think its a fantastic watch, you really can't go wrong.
I have the silver dial model and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent finish and detail which belie it's relatively low price.
I agree on the logo - they should use it all of the time!
Looked really good with brown leather strap

Tbo i really like the big date window, not only is it more legible ,but it kinda gives the watch a more refined, quality made look.
I own and love the white dial version, for me the black and blue dial versions would have benefitted from day/date windows which matched the dial.
Love Tissot...day date window unique in my opinion...
I want to buy this watch but in white. I try it in real in the shop and it looks very stylish on the hand. Wonderful watch!
I really like that watch.
Excellent review, detailed but concise!
love that link braclet. I need a watch with a braclet of that type that is next on the list.
Great video, hideous day/date implementation!
Chris Barron that is why I opted for the white (actually silver white) dial over the black dial one.
It looks well integrated with the silver-white dial.
Nice watch. The prominent day/date doesn’t bother me - the ‘Visodate’ name tells you that it’s a purposeful feature of the watch.
It's too shiny for my taste, but that blue...it's just gorgeous

Hey Bruce, can you tell us the name of the light brown/tan strap you had it on? Looks very nice! Thanks.
Got it for 3200-dkr around 450$ here in Denmark, it's such an amazing watch.

Luca Simoncini Try the 38mm Seiko Sarb033 /or 035.
Definitely well named that date window is in your face.
But I love the colour 👍
Well said man
Really nice watch, too bad they neglected AR coating and that day/date window is waaay too loud in that colour combo.
Visodates are fantastic but the crystal is too reflective and distracting. Difficult to read the hands in some conditions.
True that
If only they made it less reflective and also increase the length of the hands it would increase its usability.
i hear that the silver dial one has much less reflection. im ordering that one, love it and I'm not a fan of the Sarb, for seiko i like the SKX

Well done the 'visodate' white. It would been wrong in dark tone.
I love a lot of Blue Dial watches... But I dont like this blue at all especially with all the reflections. I'll probably just go with the White.

where can I get the tan strap from?
what is that number to the left of the day

visoDATE :)
That minute hand, It's to short IMO
It's nice, but the T-Rex short hands put me off.

nice watch.. just cant stand that day date window. such an eye sore.
