Happy independence day! For this test, I had no idea where I wanted to go, partially due to paranoia that a lot of places would cancel testing due to the holiday. I found out about this modulator at midnight before the test and realized it wasn't documented on any sort of map, so I set out to find it. After some professional google earth gaming, I found the location and set my sights to record it the following morning. The rest is history! This siren was EXTREMELY quiet, I didn't even need hearing protection when I got close, let alone at the distance I was recording from! Still though, nice to finally knock out my first modulator and dual-toned electronic siren!
Thanks for watching!
Strangely enough, this siren replaced a perfectly functioning 2001-SRN just east of it. The 2001 had its controls ripped off and it sat inactive for a while. By January 2024, it had been removed. I have no idea what Romeoville was thinking but that replacement is a downgrade and a half.

Fun fact: I was around 84 feet away from Carnation WA's (now upgraded to an 8032-B & relocated) solar powered 3012-B while it was going off and my ears were fine! My friend can stand under the new 8032-B replacement for the 6024-B and be fine as well, but not with the Pierce County LAHAR Siren System 8032-Bs.
I absolutely love dual tone modulators
i have 3 uvs and i just love how easy they are to use and configure
Very nice video! Weather was perfect in Illinois, and I like the second angle!
Very cool! I love that Attack/Wail signal!
Awesome👍
Great capture! I got a 3 minute ambiance in my county today.
OH, btw would you happen to know if this is on the siren map yet?
@@SailorKirby not on the siren map yet. Nobody knew where it was until I found it last night by complete accident
Awesome! I went to the Campton Hills P-50
That sounds absolutely amazing! I wish there were more here in UK 🔊🤩
I mean there’s a 2810 where I use to live in England but I was a kid I can’t remember but it was at a grocery store
@@Godzilla20191 Where in England was this?
@@hmsirensandfirealarms I said I didn’t know all i know is that it was at a grocery store I’m not sure if it’s there anymore (btw i lived on an airforce base)
@@Godzilla20191 interesting…. 🤔
@@hmsirensandfirealarms also it never tested or went off when I lived there for 4 years
Awesome Siren😊
Cool to see the radar doppler tower in the background
I personally am used to and like the Blue Quads better than the red ones. but the red ones are still pretty cool! ( it's also because every mod in Washington State that has Quads have blue Quads )
Biblical! Love that classic attack sound!
Same here! Never fails to sound cool. Thanks!
I believe Romeoville's other Modulator next to village hall got this classic tone and those lights as well because one of my comments on my video on the village hall Modulator was someone that works for the Romeoville EMA.
Modulators are loud but not that loud. A 612 or a Whelen 3000 could sorta out-perform these.
Not surprised, those are probably better since they have directed sound instead of omnidirectional
Awesome.
