A great look around. Some fabulous cars on show. The green Series 2 XJ6 at 18:24 was a particular favourite.

Thanks Rob, that XJ was a fabulous colour wasn’t it? Haven’t seen that colour before.

Brilliant day yesterday at Brooklands, thanks to all the owners I spoke to and who freely gave their time to chat!

The silver car at 11.59 you were stumped on is my Buckler 90 with body by Maurice Gomm.

Thank you! I would never have guessed to be honest, friends said maybe an Elva… the mystery is solved! What a great car!!

@@Lot76CARS Thanks. Few Bucklers look similar to each other as they were mainly home build cars.

Enjoyed that thank you. I like the events where you see the hard work owners have undertaken to keep 'lesser' cars on the road. For me it's what it is all about. The annual car show in Cornwall, Mount Edgcumbe is a great place to see many differing cars by type, but less exotic I have to say, you never know what's going to turn up. I liked the way you interacted with the owners too, I'm sure chatting offline was as interesting and appreciate you had to limit the video interviews, but I would have watched hours of this. Thanks & sub'd :)

Thanks Chris, much appreciated. I love the more mundane or left field cars. Can’t wait for Festival of the Unexceptional in July!

I've always liked the Ferrari 512. This looks to be the middle one, the 512TR with revised front bumper and wheels. They retained a lot of the styling if the Testarossa but with technical advancements. I was less keen on the 512M which came later.
Those Esprit still look like a 70's wedge concept car, especially that early example being the purest design.
Those MK1 MR2 are rising in value these days. I always wanted a MK2 but the more angular styling of the original seems to be on trend at the moment.
The early E type are still a stunning car. I only learned if the flat floor models recently.
The P5 looks great even if it is a 3 litre. They do seem to suite those dark paint colours.
It baffles me that the Citroen Diane never gained the critical.sxlsim.of the 2CV, I saw footage if these racing and it looked very exciting.
I don't think I've ever seen the BMW Z1 even at shows. One of only two cars I can think of where the doors vanish into the body.
The BMW 2002 touring is an interesting car as it's not the first classic BMW that springs to mind. It's nice when they try to do something a bit more innovative than the traditional three box saloon that they have been so successful with over the years
The Baur conversion 2002 looks great too. I've seen an E21 conversion last year.
Nice to see the Ferrari 328 (the front bumper distinguishing it from the earlier 308. The 348 is one of my favourites, a friend used to own one. The later 355 looked similar but on a technical front was vastly superior but I love the styling if the 348 with the side strakes and rear grill just like in a Testarossa.
The Mini pick up just like the vans seem to be some of the rarest these days.
It's a long time since I've seen a Renault 18, even around the owners club.
I had no idea that there were so many of those P6's with the estate conversion.

Thanks Mark, I love the left field cars and was very taken by than Renault 18, haven’t seen one for years and those 2002 tourings and Scimitar GTEs appeal for their usability.

The estate snoot is in fact a sportshatch one off 197 made by vauxhall. The nose cone was never homologated and was only used in national races , it was a Wayne cherry design exercise and only 204 were officaly built. See droop snoot group the owners club.

Right hand drive Opels were popular in the Republic of Ireland and the Arrow series Singer Gazelle had the 1500cc engine fitted and the Vogue had the 1725,likewise with the Hillman Minx and Hunter. Was that strange sports car you were struggling with an Elva? I enjoyed the vid.

Thanks FLB, that’s a good point the Kadett could have been an Irish car originally. Probably the sports car was an Elva… everyday is a school day!
