Lot 76 CARS
Великобритания
Добавлен 27 янв 2021
A total car 'anorak' using You Tube to showcase classic cars with a mix of classic show walkarounds, some occasional basic home 'spannering' with my own 1990 Mercedes-Benz and the odd modern classic review.
Despite the dodgy production and editing I still hope you'll enjoy watching the videos as much as I do making them!
Thanks for watching!!

@@bugsan thank you!!
Great video and commentary Simon👋Keep up the great work 😀
Thanks Andrew, much appreciated!
Time for another update!
Stunning cars and character 😊
32.25, was that the incredibly rare 6 cylinder MGB GT?
I had a 1975 Leyland sherpa diesel camper van fitted with MGB overdrive, made motorways so much more relaxing c/w some real good times. 😎❤
All Jap imports have a square reg on the back
Great video and Beautiful car! Thank you!
It is a University Motors MGC GT with Downton stage 3 tune plus many when new owner specified Customisation, I.e. colour , Downton tuning , cosmic wheels, webasco sunroof, vinyl roof, front grill, university Motors badges and of course on this one the controversial headlights, changed from round Lucas units and modified wings to house the Rectangular Cibie units etc. The paint colour, if you look at the original colour in the engine bay is Dove grey, the colour the car would have been when bought from the MG factory, it was never a MGB GT always was a MGC GT from factory, the last batch of MGC,s were purchased by University Motors, to sell as specials, although not all were tuned or customised
More likely to be an MG C buy the looks of the bonnet.
Awesome!
😊👍 Gorgeous, absolutely beautiful looking classic car. What motoring wet-dreams are made of !..
The MG B GT is primrose yellow.
Great video brought back loads of memories
@@peterlee44 many thanks Peter, I can’t see us getting so excited about Chinese electric SUVs in 30 years time, or maybe I’m wrong?
Fab day out!! Enjoyed this so much, seeing all the old motors cars. I liked the ones in bright colours 😊😊😊
Pageant blue dolly I think, Austin 1100 appeared to be resprayed in inca yellow and looked like citron yellow on the marina
Many thanks!
Wow, didn't know some of those cars at the start existed despite the familiar looks. I've seen plenty of column shift transmissions before but the dash mounted shifter on the right hand side is new in me. Interesting swing a pre facelift Monty and in VDP trim too. Looking back it seems the press liked these as much as the equivalent Ford or Vauxhall though Austin's large car seemed to fall out of favour with the public for while. The river 600 looked so fresh compared to Rovers R8 and 800 series at the time. I've never seen an Austin Gypsy before From memory we're those 5 speed maxi using a cable operated gear linkage? They were definitely cutting edge at the time. Love an MGB GT, especially early ones. What are the odds, I've just featured one of those 30th anniversary mini's but in the cherry red colour. The pre facelift SD 1 dash was indeed suited to both LHD and RHD. The instrument binacle could be switched to either side and bite the air vent on the passenger side that fills the hole for a steaming column. Palmer did also design the pathfinder and the door handles integrated into the brightwork seems to be his signature design feature. Very stylish. My dad had a red base model metro but was an early one on a W plate. That BMC mobile workshop vehicle is so cool. Speke plant built the first TR7's and when not in strike the cars that left were if poor quality. Later cars were much better but by that point the damage was done. I still think a sprint production model and a restyle of the rear end for the 80's could have been very successful. My grandad had two SD3 213's. I think the honda may have been a 12 valve engine which seemed pretty advanced alongside the home grown 1.6 litre engine. I've never seen the two door ADO 16 but it looks great. Wow, that MGB GT special looks very interesting and a great colour. The early Rover 800 sterling looks very purposeful with its very 80's sharp creases, definately back in fashion. Another superb video Simon. 👍
Passed my driving test in a Austin 1800 back in 74.👍😁
@@kevinford6420 great memories!
Really interesting video, well presented, bursting with information and bringing back a lot of happy memories
Loved your video. It's such a shame that I missed this event
This is my third visit to this show and to be honest it’s consistently good. There’s always next year!
hello the dolomite you featured was an 1850hl not a sprint and the colour is carmine red
Thanks, another viewer pointed out it was a HL but I didn’t know the colour. I’ll try and remember for next time!
Thanks for that - enjoyed it. Some fantastic survivors. We had a whole range of BMC cars in the family when I was a child and as a young driver - Marinas, 1100s, Morris Minors, Dolomites, Landcrabs, Allegros and my second car was a Dolomite 1850. I used to thrash many of the later cars as hire cars for business! 🙂
My father had two Land crabs back in the seventies . Great workhorses.
Very aposite. The Allegro in brown.
This shows me how different the BMC vehicles we got in Australia were -Austin 1800 ute, marina 6 cylinder, P76, Kimberley, Nomad, Tasman etc
I am British but lived in Australia and have owned a Wolsey 24/80 3 gear manual 6 cylinder, a Morris 1500, and an Austin 1800 Mk2. My father owned a Austin A30, Morris Oxford, Wolsey 6/110 and an Austin Princess, possibly others.
Excellent, thank you for sharing So many memories from the 80,s and 90,s for me having owned many montegos and Rover 800,s . N496ANV Rover 820 vitesse coupe, best car I've ever owned
17" or 18"?? Looks so nice.
This was excellent and extremely enjoyable. I was just in the right frame of mind to watch this. I liked all of it. TY for sharing, Simon
Thanks, much appreciated!!
Hi Simon, great video although I did spot a couple of minor mistakes, the black mini that you described as a mini 40 was actually a mini 30 and the red dolomite that you described as a sprint was actually a dolomite 1850 HL, although it did have sprint wheels on it which is probably why you thought it was a sprint 👍
Thanks Paul, how did I miss that was a mini 40, doh 1959-1989… back to school for me. I have only a small excuse with the Dolly!
Beat me to it. I think it's a 1500 though. Still , if I owned a 1500 I would stick Sprint alloys on it too !. Great video. Talk about a trip down memory lane. Sad to think we no longer have a mainstream model car industry when you compare how things were to how they are. Some proper " unicorns" in there too. Enjoyed that.
Thanks Simon 👍
Great show!
Sure, there were some nice Classic Fords , here at this show. But there were also too many modded modern Fords driven by chavs, with backfiring big bore exhausts and 500 watt subwoofers in the boot.
To be honest I mostly avoid the pop and bang brigade too!
😊
All the Pre- Geely Proton Cars have special value in every Malaysians heart...
wow 👌👌😍😍
"it feels rather sluggish and underpowered" said a woman.
Not exactly glowing praise of its performance 😧
@@Lot76CARS it really depends. I still have leganza in my garage. And it's rather quick for what it is.
@lordmmx1303 and the Leganza was one of their best designs, in recent times I don’t recall seeing any in the UK, numbers left must be in single digits?
This was enjoyable to watch and well presented. Your commentary is very useful. Thank you very much
Much appreciated, I hope to be at this year’s show in a few weeks!
I am thinking about buying one 320d Compact, you can still find them at a very afordable price. Thank you for your Review!
Wtf Only realize this one got the mod of the springs so the boot open auto!
Nice collection ❤
Wow ..❤
I drive mine all the time too. 95 E320 coupe same color as you featured. MB of Canada said only 9 were sold here.
1 of 9 they were rare in Canada!
Absolutely brilliant stuff There's something about a poverty spec car Love that three door MK4 cortina Don't tell anyone but I really like those Scorpio's in that ultima spec Great content as usual 👍
