Hello Victor, Dennis here, I wanted to thank you once again for posting the Klipper update to the CR10S Pro. I have been printing threshold ramps for the house. My wife fell and broke her foot. She is now using a scooter and we have some Texas class Speed bumps. I cranked up my Fusion 360 and Printed a few profiles then dialed in to and product a nice three piece ramp set i Super Glued and put down so she can easily navigate the monster threshold. Using PLA Pro + 3mm layers 20% infil at 180 mm/s and prints are just beautiful. I can monitor the prints process via Mainsail even Web Cam and ETA updates via WiFi. Its great, I tell her the new ramp is done I will be right back and she knows I will. Thank You again for helping the masses find Nirvana in the 10s Pro, VIA KLIPPER & Mainsail D&M

Victor, this tutorial is perfect. When my Manta M8P arrives I'll take it for a test configuration run. Well Done my friend. I did note that the last section of the document relates to the stepper Vref settings and I will get you an updated copy of it as my original work was based on the PEAK current. Creality steppers work on the RMS value. So if someone calculates the Vref in this old document please multiply your result by .707 ( RMS Constant) to get the correct Vref. Victor I'm looking forward to the M8P arriving as I'm setting up a three axis Z configuration for an Ender 3 CoreXY conversion to improve tramming and bed meshing and to see how it works with the adaptive bed mesh feature. Hi Victor, Here are a couple more bits I have found during this Manta M8P build. I added a line to the fan section of the printer.cfg file which will turn on my fan 3 ( Chassis Cooling ) when ever the X motor is commanded such as in a Home function. This allows the fan to be cooling all the time not just when the hotend or bed is turned on. [controller_fan controllerFan3] pin: PE5 # This is fan 3 on the Manta M8P, check the pin for your fan and board. max_power: 1.0 fan_speed: 1 kick_start_time: 0 stepper: stepper_x I also added this line to the printer.cfg file in the [extruder] section to move the minimum extruder temperature from the Klipper default of 170 degrees. That seemed a little low for PETG so this line will move it up to 200. Edit the valued for whatever works for your filament. min_extrude_temp: 200 One other thing is that the SAVE_CONFIG command does not work for this Klipper build, any thoughts. Thanks again Doug.
Hi buddy, Thank you for sharing the chassis fan info to help keep the noise level down when the printer isn't being used. Wow, 170 for PETG is crazy low. That's a recipe for a jam or stripped filament at the extruder. The lowest the SUNLU branded PETG will extrude is 180 but at that temp the extrusion lines will be inconsistent and the layers won't bond properly. 225-240 works best for me. It's interesting to me that some of my machines that use identical parts like slightly different print temperatures. All the best :)
Finally a video which does not skip crucial steps ! Thanks a lot ! One question, the ribbon cable which comes with the TFT35 SPI is pretty short for me... I searched the numbers printed on the back of the provided ribbon cable(AWM 20624 cable), turns out it is a generic cable which sells online, but all of them have different number of wires in them...10, 15, 20 etc... and the original SPI cable has 9 wires in it. Hi Victor, Regarding.....One other thing is that the SAVE_CONFIG command does not work for this Klipper build. This issue has been resolved, YEA!.

hi mr tnx for thist tutorial , i have Same Board But My Steper Driver is tmc2100 and a4988 , Please Can You tell me What Config To be in cfg Driver Section , thanks You
Hi buddy, Please excuse the delay in answering your comment, I had to do some digging. I don't believe that you need to enter any of the stepper driver configuration fields for the 4988 or the TMC2100 since they are treated as standalone. The TMC2209 and TMC2130s have some specific features that require UART mode and the the extra entries in the printer.cfg which are commented out by default in the M5P printer.cfg Check out page 10 of the link below because they mention the 4988 specifically and the need to have a jumper across SLP and RST pins of each. I would guess that the TMC2100 would be treated the same way unless there are some specific settings for them in the manual, but I didn't see them listed. github.com/bigtreetech/Manta-M5P/blob/master/BIGTREETECH%20MANTA%20M5P%20V1.0%20User%20Manual.pdf

Hi Smoke, try a different USB to Micro USB cable and make sure that the one you play to use supports data transmission. It sounds like the cable that isn't working is a charge only (lacks the green and white data wires) cable or you could have a bad data cable.

I'm having issues because when I plug my ADXL345 in the MCU (Manta board) is not seen/no serial connection is made. I unplug it, and it comes right up. I have the wiring correct and followed your document for flashing. It seems plugging into the SPI port (just below the SD card slot) is the issue - I've even commented out all the parts dealing with the ADXL345 in the printer.cfg file. Got any suggestions?
Hi friend, Thank you for commenting and encouragement. I'm glad you found value in this video for your viewing time. There are issues with some of Bigtreetech's most current CB1 images. Use version 2.3.2 as is and don't update Klipper.
Best of luck with your mods :)
Ok. Thank you. I'll save my config and re-flash the CB1 and NOT update Klipper. That'll be hard for me 😉 but I think I can do it , lol 😆.
Hi Victor, Really great video tutorial. It has helped me a lot but not the whole way :-). I have the Manta m5p+CB1+HDMI 7 screen and I want to use the Micro SD card to get klipper running.
I've done everything according to your video. But from min. 28 and forward I got lost 😞. The printer.cfg is "Generic Bigtree tech Manta m5p".
I only get:
"Printer is not ready The klippy host software is attempting to connect. Please retry in a few moments." / or:
"Klipper reports: ERROR
mcu 'mcu': Unable to connect Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the "FIRMWARE_RESTART" command to reset the firmware, reload the config, and restart the host software.
Error configuring printer"
What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help????
The document you are showing "manta m5p+cb1 mainsail klipper flashing guide 3-1-2024 pdf" I can't find it
Best regards

Hi Kent, I learned about this DFU flashing method after making this video. Check out this video I made about it, hopefully you can get things working properly.

Thank you so much!!
You're most welcome, Ray, thank you for commenting :)
Awesome video. Very helpful! Do you know how to use the hdmi mini port on the front of the board with a cb1?
Hi Adam, I haven't tried plugging anything into that port. Give one of these solutions a try. Please let me know if one of them worked for you.

@@vbared Actually, it looks like the mini hdmi port on the front can not be used with the cb1, only when you use a pi. Appreciate your assistance and the link though
Why are your instructions so different from BTT's!? Still trying to get mine up and runnin, but im not stuck yet...TY
Hi friend, thank you for commenting. Unfortunately for me I was unable to get both the ADXL345 and TFT35 working at the same time on the Manta M5P+CB1 following their instructions at the time so I had to dig through the forums to find the right combination of steps to make it all work for me. If you aren't running into any issues just follow the BTT instructions, they may have updated them.
Best of luck with your build :)
Ohhh. Well i am planning the same, but y make the adxl permanant?
Manage to get her goin, minus sum kinda uart driver error on a 2209. Will dive back in soon. But im runnin the cb2 after giving up on trying the m5 with jus a btt-pi and uart chip. Clearly the engineers are not the ones answering emails.. TY
hi mr tnx for thist tutorial , i have Same Board But My Steper Driver is tmc2100 and a4988 , Please Can You tell me What Config To be in cfg Driver Section , thanks You
Hi buddy, Please excuse the delay in answering your comment, I had to do some digging.

I was tracking all the way up to the "ls /dev/serial/by-id/*" command. It says "No such file or directory" any ideas on what I could have missed?
Hi Smoke, try a different USB to Micro USB cable and make sure that the one you play to use supports data transmission. It sounds like the cable that isn't working is a charge only (lacks the green and white data wires) cable or you could have a bad data cable. I've had new data cables not work straight out of the package.
@@vbared I have mine in the printer already. I had to wipe and restart because I had issues with the ui not working. Figure I would start from scratch. So I need to have it connected via usb?
@@SMOKE3104 Yes, that ls/dev is a request to confirm that the Raspberry Pi can talk to the printer. If you don't get a response that include the serial address but an error of some kind then it's most likely the cable.
@@vbared Oh, yea, this is on a manta m8p board. I guess that's why I was confused. I think I'm going to disconnect, and reconnect everything.
the stuff in this video is way out of date, why not CB2 and Manta3E3Z?
Hello, thank you for commenting and suggesting the CB2 released last month. I had seen the Manta 3 E3Z but that was way after picking up 2 Manta M5P+CB1s last year. Let me know when you release a video on setting up your CB2 and Manta 3E3Z so I can learn from your experience.
Best of luck with your mods :)
