Love how after the first transition the stain in Beck's shirt is larger😂
It just keep growing larger (small - medium - large - huge).
it gets worse between cuts
I love how he pushes him to make it spill then dougie says did I mess up again.
Sitcoms are famous for continuity issues.
It's the new fall look.
These Beck and Kyle sitcom parodies are like fever dreams
That house set up was spot on too! Always that staircase on the left. 😂
The best and funnies fever dream I’ve ever had
And I loved every minute of it
Lol - good description!
Took the words right out of my mouth
I love how the cops squeezed through door at the same time.
Then everyone in the background stood stock still during the last scene
loool
The best part was how you could hear their jackets brush against the set over the sounds of the party and dance music.
I enjoyed the "talk in private" two steps away and crowd follows
call back to family matters where Carl handcuffed himself to the other cop.
Purposeful bad acting is the best type of comedy tbh
so true
either that or incredibly lazy
mark janson it’s not bad acting. It’s a parody of 90 television dumbfucks
@@nbalivemobileplug6115 No it's not, he intentionally does bad acting in every single skit. Maybe change your character once outta 20 times.
FBeckenbauer4 based on characters he does bad acting dumbfuck bitch shit head
Everything about these sketches kill me. The bad acting is spot on. The patchy story lines are the perfect amount of ridiculous. There was an Irish Castle as a transition shot 🤣🤣🤣
The drifting car is what got me.
The Alpaca @3:15 got me

👮: "Your friend Aaron is dead."
👮♂️: "Yeah, he was drunk driving."
Everyone: "Aw." 😐
That emphasis on the "DRI-ving" rofl
everyone leaves immediately
This skit perfectly captures the awkwardness of the background extras in 90's sitcoms
YES!! I wish I knew what the director said to the extras all waiting in a clump by the door at 3:59. It's like if you asked AI to create a sitcom from the early 90's, but better cause it's real!
And still today
This is so 90's it makes my eyes bleed. All my childhood everyone was like, "Wow, 70's fashions were the ugliest possible!" And then the 90's came along and said, "Hold my Zima..."
I miss the old Dougié, straight from the go Dougié
Chop up the soul Dougié, set on his goals Dougié
This was perfect

I have no idea why I laughed at this. But I did.
I sang this in my head
"Your friend Aaron is dead"
"He was drunk driVING"
That caught me off guard 🤣
I love how he walks through the door and before the scene cuts you see him go back and try to close it.
The transition videos have nothing to do with the actual plot lmaoo 😂😂
Lei yea like the horse drawn carriage lmao
I almost overlooked the jeep in the 🏜
just like real sitcoms!
What are you talking about ...
The Llamas were a perfect plot development for the next scene 😂😂😂
Those were the best, especially the Llama and the last one 😂
«Can I talk to u in private: "u r cool now" the talk is over»
The sad thing is, this was an actual plotline on Family Matters.
Sad or amazing ?
Yes that went on for multiple seasons I believe
@@drtij_dzienz yep it was Stephen and "Stefan". I was a little kid so i loved it, but it was every bit as cheesy as this video shows it to be.
The idea to play multiple roles started early in the show with the Myrtle Urkel character.
obviously they copied it.
Your friend Aaron is dead. He was drunk driving.
*super short aw*
Paul Wilkinson That’s the part that really got me 😂
lol
@@cherahsBroll His delivery of "He was drunk driving" is the best 😂. That & them both fitting thru the door to say it.
Then the entire party leaves in a single-file, orderly fashion.
Best line of the sketch, and how they both just stand there like stage props afterwards.
For those of you who not born in the 1980s, this is a direct parody of "Dr. Urkel and Mr. Cool", the 1993 5th-season episode of Family Matters that introduces the recurring character of Stefan Urquelle, Steve Urkel's cool alter ego.
the 90s were weird
1:26 Beck still being in the swinging doorway after he leaves kills me every time. Hahahahaha.

Its just the white people version of "family matters"

Beck and Kyle really need their own show. I would 1000% watch a show with skits like this
Kyle and Beck are two of the best, and most underrated, cast members that SNL has ever had.
Fun Fact: They are both very gay. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.)

@@priscillajimenez27 all of kyles skits are based on the characters not learning lessons. Like the one with the cart how the aunt helps him and explains that girls can do things and the lady line he said is boys rule😂
kyle and beck would kill if they had their own show on another network
This is an amazing idea
they kind of did before
They were about to, with Will Ferrell as producer, when they were hired for SNL. And the third guy in their trio got dropped, I feel so bad for him!
Nick writes for SNL ive heard at least
They almost had one. On Comedy Central. Long story, but basically they chose SNL, and one of the members of their sketch group, the only one that failed the audition for SNL, Nick, got fucked. Cuz he lost the Comedy Central gig and SNL.
The fact that everyone including the police paused at the door at the end😂😂
Why the downvotes? This was some of the most hilariously dry parodying SNL has done. The milkshake stain that spreads to 30 times the surface area in the next scene, Skylar stopping the swinging door, the out-of-time-period transition, Skylar not understading what "chemical compound" means, the fact that Dougie doesn't act much differently after he gets a new outfit, the terrible and unsubtle writing, the really contrived emotional scene, the startlingly abrupt ending, etc. It's perfect.
"I've had a lot to drink. I'll drive my car out to get some more"
"Ok"
All the downvotes are from people who weren't kids in the 90s. If you don't know about TGIF, you won't get it.
Cheree Ree what is TGIF?
@@edienandy it stood for Thank Goodness It's Friday. And on Friday there was a lineup of shows like Family Matters, Full House, and others that would come on.

So grateful that Kyle's "Cut for time" sketches got a second life on RUclips. They were all pre-recorded, so that may have been the plan all along.

It's a running joke that all Kyle's sketches get 'cut for time'. That's still going on in 2018. It's probably Kyle's idea.
I think they are more fit for RUclips than a live audience, so maybe that's why
I have a theory that it's intentional so that they all go to RUclips, where both Kyle and Beck first started uploading their sketches, because it's the best place adapted for their work

Why didn't this show get picked up for a second season? It ended on such a cliffhanger back in 1992
What are you talkin about what show are you talkin about are you talking about family matters that went on for like 10 seasons? I think you did get picked up.I think that jaleel White didn't want to play Steve urkel anymore. And I think there was a death in the cast. Unless you're talking about an entirely different show.
@@catsdogsbaby8318 I think they're being funny
Lols It's clearly a joke bro
The House of Phancycondo The reason it didn’t get picked up is that Ryan Gosling had graduated into doing movies, and he had decided to leave. That’s why his character was killed off in this episode. Also, the comedy world started to turn away from this type of “lesson comedy” to more “biting comedy,” as Seinfeld, Frazier and Friends started to dominate the ratings. I loved this show, though, and still think about it. Thanks to whoever uploaded this old clip. What a blast from the past. You may not believe this, but I totally forgot about Do-Gay.
@Gecko Kosai you can't do math
Kyle Mooney is one of the funniest, most underrated cast members. It sucks that most of the sketches he's in are usually the Cut For Times.
He does the same cringe, awkward character in every sketch. It gets old quickly.
You can figure out the pattern?
Maddie Hansen he is the worst one ever, hands down dummy
FranchiseLove ya he has one role thats it...
He needs a famous girlfriend.
The tone in which the cop says "he was drunk driving" like a disappointed matter of fact I told you so kind of way. This sketch is highly underrated.
I love at the end of how all of the guests are leaving and then they just stop right in the doorway 🤣🤣
He chocolate stain is so huge the second time you see it haha

+Spinalpalm what's so interesting about these videos is how polarizing they are. people either really love them or really hate them. which i don't get because i think these guys are geniuses. Satire for days.

It’s hard to be bad actors on purpose. They knocked it out of park. This might be my favorite Kyle Mooney sketch. Even Ryan is a big old 90’s dork. I can’t believe we willingly watched crap like this in the 80s-90s.

Or they did, but this parody didn't embody them enough, if at all.
Totally grew up watching them. These just get old really fast. This set is a nod to the Full House living room, the set with Chris Pratt's episode is a nod to Joey and Chandler's apt in Friends. I'd rather watch those than these parodies.

this is a cut for time sketch so it wasn't good enough to begin with. And while it did get the point across, it wasn't funny at all for what it was implying. It got old really fast.

LOVE that at 1:28 you can see him come back to stop the door from swinging back so much...this and the sitcom with Larry David are both perfect parodies
Isn't it interesting how downvoted this is? It sucks that the general populous doesn't really understand the kind of satire going on here. You really have to be perfectly aware of all the clichés that were forced into this skit and how they exaggerated them in different ways. This is a very subtle, "Portlandia" type of humor, and that's just not going to work for the widest audience possible. I enjoyed this a lot, but I'm not against SNL cutting it knowing that it just wouldn't work. Kyle and Beck are in a weird place for their talents to shine.
+Musicmonk84 No, we get it. But the irony doesn't automatically make it funny or entertaining. This was boring, bland, and slow. Better writing and better acting could have made it a good sketch. The intentional crap of this sketch just made it more crap...
+Jossi Wales Well, I personally think that if the writing and acting were better, then the thoughts that they wanted to convey in the sketch would be a little lost. But then again, maybe if Kyle and Ryan and the cops really acted out their cliché roles to the nth degree it would make it better for all of us and still convey the ironies they intended. I'm not sure. But I do know this, that entire sketch was completely littered with great jokes practically every 2 seconds. And that was a great feat of writing and editing, I think.
+Jossi Wales Agreed. Saying something in a flat affect doesn't automatically make it funny.
+Musicmonk84 it might be a satire of the old comedy shows but the thing is ... it's not funny. It's boring and I got to the end realizing that nothing happened.
***** I think I figured out why the parody didn't work (at least for me). I'm old enough that I watched these shows when they originally aired - and sure they were cheesy and a bit lame, but they were a product of their time. But this parody is coming from a worldview where shows like these are a quaint bit of history that they maybe saw only on syndicated reruns (or Netflix). They were not part of the zeitgeist that yielded these shows. It's like being a Chinese immigrant watching an American tourist narrating a slideshow from his trip to China.
I couldn't stop laughing. Its so 90's, dry and Ryan's facial expressions 👏👏👏
This is so surreal and brilliant! It's like some Tim and Eric shit. Bravo, SNL!
Dugé is a reinterpretation of Stefán Urquelle from the Family Matters sitcom. Stefán was a powerful character to many 90s adolescents, so a nostalgia component is definitely at play here. This sketch highlights the manufactured, undue hype surrounding Stefán and the artificiality of TV in general. For a deeper dive(and an overall enriching experience), I recommend you bone up on some Stefán Urquelle videos
