It depends on what you’re made of. If you’re looking for comfort and convenience, it’s not practical. If you’re looking for a fun adventure, and a unique experience, it’s great. There are not many original flight heads out there. I can’t imagine there’s one that hasn’t had the motor opened up. .
@@Mr39knuck well thank you sir I know what I'm made of but it was more my trying to determine if these bikes are trustworthy and able to do it was what I was really trying to get after just how Dependable are these old Flathead engines in other words if I try to find an old Flathead can I trust the engine if it's in good condition or is it just going to be problems for me yes I know all about variances and Taking Chances I'm almost seventy years old I've had motorcycles on my life and never been around old Flathead Harleys

Hi there I don’t know if you will see this message.. but I’m looking to sell my 1948 panhead. No papers, it was purchased over 20 years ago and has never been on the road since. Do you have any suggestions on how I can sell this bike? I think the forks are not true to the year, but everything else I think is original

Always check the born-on dates on the tires. Some will look great, no cracks and be over 10 years old. And the tube will be toast too.

Thanks for the tips. Just picked up a 65 fl that's been sitting for 40 years in a shop and not cranked in 35 years.
Glad to help!
I had a 1956 FLH it was a sleeper it look stock but it had a S&S 88 cin kit I wish still had it.
One thing I understand is that the Pinheads between 1948-1953 didn't have any oil cooling in the cylinders(Jugs), please correct me if Im wrong.
