Watching your video takes me back to my days of my FL I bought from a city auction back in 1962. My Harley was a retired San Francisco city cop bike, a 1959. My grandpa and I traveled to San Francisco just for the purchase of three bikes. These bikes were well maintained and low miles for the bread. We brought these bikes back home and restored them back to stock. Had to sign a document that directed us to remove all law enforcement equipment off the bikes. Strict folks back then. All the bikes were repainted and cleaned up. My grandpa sold one and he kept one for himself. I got the best of the heard and rode that bike through high school up until I got drafted and ended up in Vietnam. After my educational program via Nam, when I come home I and my grandpa cleaned up my bike and he and I became road Gypsies for a year. For money he and I would pull odd jobs while traveling. That period of time was my best therapy from war crap rolling around in my soul. My grandma was a very wise man. He knew exactly what I needed to clear my soul and head. He served two wars himself. As a kid he got up in the first one as a courier, rode Harleys to the front lines with messages. And also in the 2nd did the same with General Pattons Armored Division. Those two Harleys were the best. Never left us walking. Plus it helped we both knew how to turn a wrench. Your Hollywood green looked the same as mine between those years. Later, about 1974 my Harley got stolen by some clown. The CHP, found my bike in Oakland, California some 400 miles away at some bike shop. Never got it back. Sad to lose my good friend the Harley and my grandpa that same year. Thanks for your time.

Dean, thank you for your comment, story and service. This is the most thoughtful and well spoken comment ive ever had on any of our RUclips videos . I saw a 59 fl for sale in Missouri online it looked like a great bike. I have a 58 that I hold very close to my heart. If you're ever in South Dakota swing by and you can take it for a spin.

Rare color. I saw one in a local shop here in Arkansas. It had the original paint, a wonderful patina. I think 55 is the only year of that color. ♥️♥️🏍️💨🏁

What a beauty. It looks in incredible condition for a 12 year old restoration. Hopefully he gets it out and uses it as much as he is able. I'd have a hard time not making it my daily rider. 😄

Thankyou for constructive input. Our main goal is to showcase these old bikes we spend so much time fixing up, but we have done a few tech videos and plan on doing more. Do you have any specific subjects you'd like to learn about?

@@carlscyclesupply I love the finished bike content too. Knuckles and Pans as it takes a lot to keep them running. The walk thrus are very cool when the bike is all done and you see it all finished and learn about it, plus we see it start run and drive. There are so few experts like you guys in the repairing/restoring business so anything we can learn about how to fix, or what goes wrong frequently, cool hacks you've learned, or things to look out for would all help us gain from your wrenching experience. This could be from engine, to tranny to frame and basically everything you do when you restore. Tips on what to look for at swap meets and how to ID and determine different cases, years, and spotting case damage and what it will take to fix is something I don't see many other You Tubers offering either. Thank you and keep up the great content.

You're in luck. For years harley worked with a company named eagle iron and reproduced all badges and mounts. Try searching eBay or go to your local dealership

I agree. We shot this video on the same day as the flight red 42 video and had some technical difficulties. Our new video guy Brian figured out how to remedy the situation and the next ones will be better.
