its kinda funny because the UMP was never buffed in a patch; it was always that good and people didnt realise it. it was only discovered because valve introduced the age of the CZ75, and when that was put to an end, players so accustomed to force buying needed an alternative.

The moment Valve reduced its price; everyone understood how good it really was, so much that the pros were buying it even after the price was increased.

@@frodo4503Its an added bonus, since it makes the enemy take more organizing and planning while the others were already thinking about what to do, sure its a few seconds of thinking but it can be critical
@@bypy35na I think I need to disagree, because the subject is pro team not random mm. Time before round starts is more than enough either way imo. I still stand that it's not about stacking but lower overall reward, and organization on pro level won't be an issue. Added bonus beside random matchmaking is non-existent.

@@luisaguilar7127 Just having security guards present can end up deterring crime. Additionally those guards aren’t meant to combat active shooters. Day to day they would deal with preventing people from sneaking in, dealing with rowdy (and probably drunk) attendants and crowd control. The most those guards would be expected to do in for a active shooting would be to evacuate the building so the police could settle the situation.
If I remember correctly, this was a prank and the "security guard" was just a normal guy pretending to pat people down. Obviously, because he wasn't an actual security guard, he only pretended to pat the people down. Hence the video even existing and lack of metal detectors

I could easily see why, because if half the game is just one dude in a potential clutch situation on vertigo like the designated awper or something, people are expecting to see a clip get hit, but instead they just just jump off the map to deny the free awp costing the enemy team to buy their own, its a vibe killer and hurts the viewer experience, if it was just a 1 off occurrence then it would have been a hype big play, but when its considered meta it gets ready boring.
@@cempur7599 Yeah, viewership wise its a lot worse to see top teams jumping off maps or dying to mollies intentionally because they wanted to deny economy on enemy team. It makes sense strategically, but viewership rides and dies on insane clutches, crazy plays and so on.
Still the wrong way to fix this issue. „Let‘s punish professional players for playing the game smartly instead of adressing the failed balance of our game“ yes it was fixed shortly after but you cannot enforce imaginary principles on people competing for their livelihood. If i were in a situation like that where i knew i would have a better chance by dying in such a way u would abuse it too any day of the week. Because imagine doing that the whole tournament. What are they gonna do? Ban me for playing the game as it is? Ruining their Games Reputation in E-Sports while doing so live ob stage? I would have loved a team coming out and just doing the olof boost every round in IEM or abusing the games unbalanced economy to win a major for them to become the most hated team to ever win it just so they could rub it in the developers face so that they would actually have to care about the balance of their stupid ass game for eternity so that such an embarrassment won’t hurt their game and community ever again.

During the ump era, no rounds ever needed eco. Basically a $1200 rifle with decent dmg drop and high armour penetration

Why not just patch the price you get for smg kills? The way they did it was so useless
2 reasons. It would be silly of Valve to balance changes based on the best of the best for one. Second, IEM banned this. Not Valve.

@@J4hk3 well thats pretty easy, in a perfect world (when the game is balanced) its harder to get a kill with an smg than it is with a rifle, also they probably want to reward a force buy if it works.

If you overtune guns to account for people's skill issues then the game will get more broken and exploitable and frustrating as your rank goes up. It's mind boggling that you think developers should cater their game to you, specifically.
@benackdrums it makes no sense to balance the weapons towards anything but the majority. Im not saying to cater it towards me, i never mentioned myself. But it makes zero sense to balance the guns specifically towards a few hundred players in a game of nearly 1 million active players.

i'm surprised people still don't understand how stupid this is, if you die willingly to molotov enemy gets 1500 kil lreward instead potentially 3000 (shotguns were almost never bought at the time) so at most cts get 1500 less, but if ts get even 1 kill (which is almost guaranteed) it is already more valuable than 1500, not to mention that it can snowball and they might get multiple kills and bomb plant, also ts nowadays play as slow as possible to milk out cts utility and then rush altogether, which is 1000% smarter way than this moronic suicide
Guys, its more complicated than this. let me explain from a high rated player POV and everybody will understand. Lets say i am T in round 2, full eco because lost pistol. IF we see a molotov banana on inf, this means CT MUST have a smg (600 USD bonus) or even shotgun (900 USD bonus). He cannot afford a rifle and a molly in round 2, which means he IS trying to farm money. The best thing to do is to actually die in flame and give him 1500 kill bonus instead of potential 4500. And this also means he MUST spend rest of money to buy rifle to fight your AK next round - or continue with SMG/shotgun and risk losing the round. Its cynical but maxing your percentages
It makes sense, but still kind of a b**** move. Give up any chance of getting a kill and getting better guns next round while basically giving the enemy a free round AND free money without any risk of them having to use any other equipment. If they manage to get a couple kills, then they’ve made the enemy waste that money and they also get a free weapon.

Only useful once you know they're on a save round. Mollies are critical pieces of utility, and it would be way too easy to fool the enemy into thinking you were on a save to prevent usage of the mollies.
Old CS metas were so dumb ; I can't believe they didn't see the kreig and Aug as a viable weapons ; not slowing full ecos to drain the other team's utility ; the fact that they didn't use utility to maximize positioning advantages

People need to understand why this is bannable behavior in esports. It's not just about viewership or fair play. CS:GO had a lucrative esports betting scene. Thrown rounds no matter the reasoning immediately brings up questions of match fixing. Sure, the intent may have been to win the match by throwing a round, but what happens when a pro team throws a round and then gets stomped in the match? The only reason this rule isnt still in effect in IEM and other tournaments is just that's such a difficult judgement call for refs that they couldnt enforce it.
Unlike the Philippine In-Game emote in the League of Legends tournament issue, CSGO's rules have the nerve to revert due to it becoming a nightmare to enforcement

I still use the UMP in CS2. I have a better time with it on the first bullets than the other weapons, even if the UMP is kinda shit. I prefer it over a mac 10 even.

@@aleksei8884this exactly, which is why I never agreed with the decision pros made back then to throw rounds this way with 5 alive. Sure, when you're already down two players and haven't recovered a weapon I get it, but the 5 man burn in mollies and nades isn't as brilliant people tried to make it out to be. The other team will always take a 5 alive round win over going for the kill rewards, and we've seen plenty of examples of teams winning those eco rounds or making it close and costly on a near daily basis in pro tournaments.

Dying on purpose is such a hard to enforce thing. If you're not allowed to, you die due to enemys AK, when you were on save round. Isn't that dying on purpose? You should've avoided death at all costs, irrelevant if it means you win or loose the game. You can't entry frag cause that's deadly job. You can't do anything as everything has high risk and can be considered intentional

I'm gonna be extremely honest, I randomly came across this short without knowing anything about CS, and I didn't know that CS players call molotovs "mollies". Looking at the title, I thought they added MDMA in the game 😭😭😭

Getting real sick of game developers being an average of 20 IQ below their players'.
The game is an economic strategy game when you get to the professional level. Banning such a move is just stupid and it’s probably for the best not to ban things that are self sabotaging with a high risk high reward situation. Cuz if the team who throws the moly just but around the corner with an smg while they’re all low from the molly and mows them down that’s 4+ kills at $600 a piece.
When there are very few in CS:GO and absolutely no professional players in CS2 😅 only kids left, no wonder. All pro players already play differenet fps, so it is just cirkus. 😂😂😂
I think its crazy people are saying its better to risk giving the opponent $3k+ to try to win a round and gain$1.5k-2.5k while behind in both armor and weapons. Its better to give them $1.5k and challenge them the 3rd round. A funny counter to this strat is to gamble and have 1 person not buy anything except a molly and hope they run into the molly. This should be enough income for a awp.
The issue I have with Valorant is that half of their community/content creators are more superficial than a politician. There is no content besides grinding ranked and seeing the new controversial buffs/nerfs, maps, and god forbid the insanely priced skins. They remove fun game modes only to add more boring ones, and these nerfs and buffs are so fucking dumb also I’m getting sick of the map pool changes I only came back to the game cause I heard they buffed neon and took breeze out of the map pool. I really wished this game was fresh but the more I come back to it the more I see it turn into league and I’m not surprised the only thing this game has going for it is “anti cheat”.
SMGs , Pistols also give better mobility so totally safe especially if enemy team has lot of awps . Losing 3x less money plus more mobility for flanking

I could see banning intentional suicide like kill binds or map hazards since yeah that are intentional and not in the spirit of the game. But moly suicide? How do you even enforce that? Plus its a strategy
The attempt to ban it is stupid move, like when they tried to ban binded jump throws.
An honestly the way to avoid that situation is simple: when you predict the enemy is full eco, dont use mollys.

You have no way of winning so you don't get on it to not use too much gas or damage your engine anymore than you already have.
