I agree. And I dont even watched the good ending but scratched one for TV. That one is weird at best but I could imagine what whole episode looks like.
God this anime, I had it on the side as a sort of mediocre "Just watch it while drunk and you don't care", Only for it to hit me in the feels like a fucking truck in the last episodes. If somebody's unsure if they'd like it i'll just say that there is more to this show than meta-humor and toilet-humor.
Kevin Andres Magariños Villegas it's been a while since i last watched this show, but i can give you a brief explanation. Remember how in the first episode when the skinny dad was sucked into a different world by the toilet? That was actually just the beginning of a storybook wrote by the dad for his daughter back when she was little. None of the events that you saw before the finale actually happened, the dad caught a stroke (or a coma?) while he was on the toilet, and everything you watched was the daughter's attempt to wake up his dad by reading the story that he wrote. It was also a confession from the daughter because she began disliking her dad due to misunderstandings, but later found out the truth and realized that her dad was doing everything he could to protect her. And during the recovery time after dad woke up, his daughter cooked a lot of delicious food for him which is why he turned fat for real this time. Typing this at 5 am sry bout grammar
I see now. I was hung up on the idea of a bad person being something I dislike instead of seeing deeper into what that means for a character. I now understand that there is a significant and substantial difference between a bad character in a story and a bad person in a story, and that being the latter doesn't automatically ruin a character but can instead make them more complex and have greater impact than they otherwise might.
Bad people in a story can identify an issue with a genre or in the audience. Rance is a bad person from every aspect. He believes that rape is only justified if it is done by himself. He sees that going after women for sex only is a purpose that only he should have. There are many more, but being a bad person in his story, he shows the stupidity of the genre. The purpose to have sex with every female, trying to collect their cg events instead of enjoying the game. His very behaviour also screams desperate teenager, most likely as a insulting self-insert of how some people can act.
@@sasukeuchiha998 Did you watched all this series at least? I'm forced to give you an spoiler, but in his work someone stole their ideas and got all the credit and for some circumstances more he got forced to work twice in order to maintain her daughter. The father actually was in comma, and a lot of thing the daughter was living inside was a kind of "materialization" of what she imagine of him when she was little. You didn't watch the series until the end. You should do it.
I cant tell if the visuals of this show are good or bad... Theres something about it that looks a little ugly and mediocre, but it has a certain charming look if that makes sense?
I don't know about you but I finished the anime and the ending made every second worth it. When you realise all the over-the-top characters, their design and their interactions actually had meaning behind them which all clicks together in the end just shows how you don't truly understand something until you know everything. I thought this was going to be a pure gag anime which it did in most part, but the way the animators carried out it's finale almost brought me to tears. (and I'm not kidding, it's emotional) For those that have yet to watch the anime and are brushing it off to the side, I implore that you give this anime a chance. Even if the comedy seems random and exaggerated, I advise you to stick through to the end as it'll be worth it.
It seems like the creator of this video only watched until episode 5 or 6. While the srties has 12 episodes. And is as you say, i didn't expected that twist.
This was such a great show, though I suppose it enjoyed it a lot more because I binge watched it. It touched me so deeply that no other anime has in the past 3 months atleast. And all I do is watch anime everyday. I searched this on youtube after watching to see if any youtubers have given it a good review, and only found your video. I do not understand your criticism of this Pedantic Romantic, and would implore you to binge watch it once before replying to my comment. You have appreciated shows like Berserk, and Mob Psycho so why did you fail to appreciate this?
I never heard or watched this anime but this looks interesting. I'll give it a watch. Also I didn't know this anime was a Chinese-Japanese collaborative work, since you know China and Japan don't have the strongest relationship on anything.
How are there two different thumbnails for the video depending on whether I hold it vertical or horizontal? That's kind of amazing to me, as I had no idea that was possible.
^ good video. A show i despise and dropped but some might like *Nejimaki Seirei Senki: Tenkyou no Alderamin* Does not focus on high schoolers or a school. its about war and a age of kings. i dropped it because the Royal attitude is too much and i did not like the male lead tho he is more mature then most. you might get characters rather then tropes if that appeals to you.
The ending of this series is one that separated it from a mediocre anime to a great one. At least in my opinion.
agreed, the ending song is SO GOOD! It quickly became my favourite part of every episode.
Could you please spoil it for me?
I agree. And I dont even watched the good ending but scratched one for TV. That one is weird at best but I could imagine what whole episode looks like.
you really really really want that spoil?
Do it.

You have to watch the spin off called "To be a Heroine", it's so sad 😭😭

The animation has a "mid 2000's Newgrounds" feel that makes it very endearing (at least to me)
The cheap smear frames and contrast colors on characters.

Aye, this anime made me let down my guard, just to punch down mercilessly when I was least prepared for it.

If yall didn't know yet, season 2 is out, and it's a radically different thing. Something I'm loving more than I had already been loving season 1.

Love your videos man! I gotta say though, your voice sounds like a grown up Linus from the Peanuts, especially at the end, lol
Keep up the great work!

I did really enjoy it
so do you have a different opinion on the main character after finishing the show?
just curious
Seeing as he hasn't made another video on it yet i'd guess he dropped it before the show actually reached its conclusion : /
