I actually realised most Japanese moms don't over react to their children falls or when they hit onto sth. My mom always says " Not the fall/hit that they cried, but the screams of parents that frighten them." I see most Japanese moms don't react a lot when they got into minor accidents instead they act in a way that soothes the situation. In the country whr I live in all the moms would scream over children tripping over onto the floor. I facepalm really hard whenever I see that kind of scene... xD
I work with two year olds 5 days a week and can confirm that its much better to have a relaxed reaction and let them get up themselves. I assess if they really need my help/comfort.
