Not hard for me to guess, since I was an Air Traffic Controller at Columbus Approach 😃 Explanation: What once was Dayton Approach was moved into Columbus (CMH) years ago - CMH built a new facility and upgraded our radar to STARS - Day stayed with the older version of ARTS - The agency wanted to transition to the new STARS radar systems, and with that, it was decided to combine the facility into CMH as part of the budget woes that were the talk of DC - our union NATCA was able to negotiate the end of combining facilities but not before CMH took over DAY and left the tower there - we also helped leave the Class C airspace there for the controllers to use separation for auto releases off the airport and it also helps with pay.
Installed a 3 bladed Hartzell 2 years ago on our 182M, quite a climber now couldn't be happier! Adding a PPonk/XP470 next month to squeeze out another 45HP, not sure if your model has an STC for that, maybe Air plains/skyways? Enjoy!
This was cool. I drive through Bardstown every day for work and took my private check ride at I17; lived up there for 30 years. Enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing.
I live in Campbellsville 45 minutes from Bardstown. I would have loved to meet you two and see your 1957 Cessna, beautiful plane! Good year, my birth year. Flew into Dayton Wright Brothers Airport last week with a friend to drop off his Cirrus to have a new parachute installed and headed back Saturday to pick it up.
Nice time of year. I haven’t seen a drive through in a long time. You have some great choices. I hope you get a chance to video the installation and balance of your process 😊
Would you mind sharing your gopro camera settings for the one between you on the overhead pointing at the panel? What resolution/framerate you shoot in? Also what filter you have on it? Your gps screen stays visible nicely. On mine with gopro 12 my pfd screen and my gtn750 always show that sort of scrolling look. I hate it. Love your channel! Thanks for doing these.
Dayton used to have their own approach control but it was consolidated to Columbus over a decade ago. It is kind of odd that Cincinnati didn’t get it, but possibly because CVG was a lot busier 15 years ago.
Great question - do you have a timecode and I can review and let you know? I sometimes have to lean the mixture on approach with my carb heat applied as my engine runs way too rich once I apply the carb heat (a common old cessna issue) but I don't recall having to do it in this particular flight

Love that you chased those tailwinds all the way to Ohio. Go Bucks!
Just like my 2 old Triumph motorcycles, they just dont make them like that old Cessna anymore.
Bless you 2 for taking care of that old girl.

Someone explain to me why this channel only has 40k subscribers. Should be 400k.
THANK YOU🥹
I agree!!❤❤
Sadly It's been over a year since I've seen one of your videos thanks for the ride along and the fun entertainment. Keep it up you two.
God I love your Cessna. Love the modern capability with the authentic round gauge esthetic
Awesome video once again Mindy, lovely to see Mojo in action again😊Looking forward to seeing the upgrade😁
Another great video. Thanks for taking us along.
Hope you guys went to the Air Force Museum in Dayton. Great museum!! Enjoy the videos. Keep ‘em coming
Thanks, planning this as a day trip (flight) soon! Looks like a great lunch location as well. 👍
I have a few bottles. The secondary market is steep but I have some good corn squeezins. Big fan of Buffalo Trace Distillery. Penelope is good too.
Hey Guys, cool new camera angle inside Mojo, and the reflected landscape on the underside of Mojo’s wing is stunning.Best wishes 🙂
Check your bottles in the back seat- there was a few moments I thought Kevin may have been sneaking a nip here and there! 13:42
Brings back memories flying into Piqua with my Navion for prop overhaul in the early 80's...airport hasn't changed much at all. Amazing!
I flew in to that airport when I bought my Grumman aa1b on the way home to Mississippi some year ago hope you enjoyed your stay 😊

On the OBX we have Brew Thru. You drive inside the building, they load it for you.
Excellent stop choice! Bourbon is life😊
I love your videos and would love to get started making my own
What a pretty plane
Loved the video, thanks for sharing.

So enjoy you both. Also enjoy your instrument training
I'm 30 minutes from Piqua! Enjoy the upgrades!
14:40 - Sounds familiar. My head is spinning, trying to remember.

WOW with all that Bourbon, you had to do another Weight & Balance. What a haul! !! !!!
Schmindy, when you were prepping for your approach for landing you were turning the mixture knob counterclockwise. What does that achieve for you?
Great question - do you have a timecode and I can review and let you know? I sometimes have to lean the mixture on approach with my carb heat applied as my engine runs way too rich once I apply the carb heat (a common old cessna issue) but I don't recall having to do it in this particular flight
@@SchmiiindyI stand corrected. You were probably leaning fuel at cruise b/c you had just engaged autopilot at 13:35
@@Mr.Martini549yes exactly!! Sorry I re-watched all the approach and didn’t see but YES counterclockwise during the leaning procedure 😊
You do look cool! At least you know how to close up a box.
hahahaha
"Some of these are gifts" 😉😉😉
Ahora sí lo entendí ese N3802D es especial
They have a Tetrahedron!! Ours was just removed a year or two ago. That may be the last one!
Schmiiindy why dont you use Randolph engineering sunglasses. Theyre made for aviation .
Oh my gosh. You were only a few miles from me. So awesome.
Mindy you need to try Kentucky Owl Confiscated if you haven’t already. It is my favorite at the moment.
Oh I have never heard of it!!
She is COOL!
Must have been fun updating the W&B calc for the extra 400 lbs. in bourbon 😜
“Some of these are gifts”…..yeah right 😂
You guys didn't *sample* the bourbon before departure, didja?
Love the t-shirt
I17 Airport Designator is in Piqua, Ohio. According to Google
I'm guessing a new Hartzell prop.
Also, did you make a stop at the Air Force Museum? If not I’m sure you’ll get another chance considering where your employer is based :)
Day Uhn? Is that like Dayton?
Welcome to OH-
IO
prop overhaul in Piqua
Hoards Bourbon....great comment.
Buy the Willett’s bourbon.
You know you have a problem when you suddenly find yourself at a drive thru buying alcohol.
Box closing😂
Here I thought only ground dwellers did lean but naw the pilots got that purple drank
Try Whistle Pig
I had you pegged a wine gal over bourbon 🤔
I thought the bourbon was the upgrade ;)
W/B - Baggage 1, 18lbs.
Oh well, who needs a healthy liver?
Kevin looks a bit crabby on this video lol
He was toasty.
She is "womensplaining".
