    Here's the latest in Helldivers 2 News!
    We've recently received two dispatches from Helldivers HQ. The first applauded us for saving the children on Vernen Wells, but listed our operation as a failure. The second new dispatch outlines our new marathon mission in Terminid territory. The Helldivers have been reassigned to liberate 5 planets in 7 days, and we now have a new "nuke" mission versus the bugs that is tough! Reports are coming in that the Patrol Spawn change reverts have somehow made the spawns even worse. I am definitely seeing more enemies spawn from breaches, but I cannot confirm if the patrols have been broken even further! And finally, it stil feels good to have helped the children, and to see what Arrowhead did IRL.

      I can't say whether the patrols are reverted or not, but the added enemies in those patrols make it seem more difficult, and the new mission type is insane the bug breaches continue till you set off that nuke which can make it feel overwhelming. In terms of difficulty, it seems to be the same in my opinion.
      I only play on helldive it could be more difficult for the lower difficulty's then it was previously.

      Don’t know if it’s patrols or bug breaches but certainly a massive increase in enemies. Hell dive is not stop behemoths tanking every shot

      Patrols are somewhere in between now. There aren't quite as many and they don't immediately walk straight to you. I have noticed that when you let a bug call for reinforcements and a breach happens there are more spawning from breach. It also feels like patrols will go straight to you if a breach happens. Which does make sense but it still creates a situation of suddenly being surrounded out of nowhere.
      Overall the game does feel better even if Arrowhead still can't quite get their heads wrapped around difficulty levels.
      The bugs be living that "Power fantasy" right now. Instead of us. lol

      I'm not playing bugs until they give us the mines. This community does not understand yet how MOs work, it's just amazing: 40k were playing bugs while we were fighting to get the mines; so a third of the helldiver army deployed those days doesn't understand the game or doesn't even want to contribute. With their help I have NO DOUBT the mines would be ours by now. It was a failure indeed, and we failed again for the same old reason: NOOBS.

    I’m all for a challenge, but last night I was running level 6s with the boys and had a random 4th man join us. Made it through 2.75 of the 3 missions in the op, then he stops moving in the middle of a HUGE firefight with the clankers. He typed out “Ya’ll suck to work with” then left. This is a videogame, this is what we do to relax and have fun after a long day of working in the trades (I’m a welder). WE AREN’T WORKING. WE ARE HAVING FUN. If you want to treat this hilarious and enjoyable game as a JOB then that’s on you. Don’t be a dick and rip on people who don’t play at the same level of intensity you do.

      Don't get me wrong I wouldn't care how someone plays as long as we die and get called back in I'm fine with that but there is games where I'm just waiting for a call in and I died trying to help a random group so I leave because I'm just watching and not having fun

    Playing on lvl 7, I’ve noticed a huge uptick in patrols. It now feels like once you finally clear an area, 3 more patrols are all coincidentally arriving starting the whole mess all over.

      On lvl 7 i got pinned down for ~10 minutes in an never ending patrol and breach combo.
      We (4 player party) used everything we had off cooldown... including supply-drops.
      The spawnrates and "spawn-time" from this breaches are insane. You cannot propperly close it without provoking a new breach.
      The new "bigger charger" spawnrate is also far too high. It seems that i get more of these guys than the normal type.

      Hasn't been the case for me since the patch. It was like that BEFORE the patch for me, literally patrols streaming in like water before they updated it. Now, it's a steady "if you take too long, yeah patrols will show up" instead of 3 patrols constantly appearing during bug swarms.

      @@asialsky I always bring something for the ships at least, be it laser cannon or autocannon, both reliably mitigate them, Quasar is just too slow even if I like it

      @@asialsky gunships when you have no support weapon to kill them are terrible. there should be a way to take them out with conventional weapons. i spawned in a game next to a detector tower with 3 other people, called in my autocannon and got killed and was not able to get a new one for like 6 minutes but there was 8 gunships constantly firing at all of us and none of us had the means to deal with them effectively on top of the large amount of enemies spawned by the detector. after dying like 13 times i finally got away by running and dodging between mountains and my cooldown for my autocannon came off so i could finally destroy them. the only conventional weapon you could use to kill gunships is a scorcher but even then it takes the whole mag and i was just trying out the new tenderizer that game so i wasnt using the scorcher like i normally would. but now im even more convinced scorcher is the only way to go with bots.

    A recurrent issue is Infinite loading screen whenever You finish a missions and jump on the next one, so You need to hard close the Game and restart

      or the epic bug where someone jointing crashes you. or the epic bug that crashes you for being afk. or the epic bug that crashes you for opening any menu. or the bug that crashes you when you buy the warbond. or the epic bug that crashes you for opening the galactic map. or the epic bug that crashes you for traveling to a different planet. or the epic bug that crashes you when you call in a grenade launcher for some reason. or the epic bug that crashes you when your mech blows up. or the epic bug that crashes when you open the game. or the epic bug that crashes because of how many enemies keep spawning from patrols + drops/breeches. or the epic bug that breaks the ui and overlays it on your screen for the rest of the game until you relaunch. or the epic bug that disables Bluetooth earbuds because they record open mic audio without your consent, so you have to go into windows sound setting and disable it to have audio once again. or the epic bug that crashes you after you exit the game. all of these issues have happened to me since this update.
      fuck this game and its community for saying “skill issue.” I can’t get better at the game if I can’t play it.

    Arrow head still needs to fix alot of crashes and buff some weapons that still are nerfed into the ground, but this last patch is a good step in the right direction. I have faith that they will make the game even better

      The FPS is pretty shit after the update too. Level 6 and up it's like 35FPS at best. Wasn't an issue before.

      I've never once crashed in this game nor had any fps issues and I'm running a RX580 gpu with a 2600X cpu. Only thing that ever happens to me is once I quit game the game locks the program and I have to end task it lol.

    Just my 2 cents.
    I could swear, with some of the old bugs that have returned, this new patch was based on an old build of the game from well prior to what we were playing on pre-patch.
    I've seen a BIG difference in spawns, patrols, and drops since the patch, though most of my experience was on the Bot side due to the Major order. On the plus side, I had a pretty efficient before and after observations because of this.
    IMHO, Hulk spawns are way up on difficulty level 7 and higher. It's more uncommon to see a patrol without a hulk than with one, and seeing 2-6 in bot drops is normal. They're also at points of interest and objectives far more than they used to be. Devastator spawns seem much higher as well, mostly in the quantity you encounter.
    Mostly only seeing Charger Behemoths now, rarely seeing normal chargers. Also sometimes Chargers are spawning in pairs now?
    Additionally, from the Bot side, bot rockets seem to be hitting harder and have a much more noticeable knockback, like before they were adjusted.
    Bots also seem like... well... Aim Bots. Their accuracy overall is insane now, and I've literally been Skeet shot with rockets while being rag dolled and in mid air. Yes, I've been getting regularly hit by bit lasers and rockets while in mid-air from having been hit by a rocket. Heavy Devastators, the ones with the shields and Gatling guns, are particularly bonkers, and insanely accurate at 50+ meters and beyond.
    Gunships are patrolling in groups of up to 6 and can be a challenge to manage if a team isn't coordinated, especially with the seemingly increased accuracy with rockets and laser fire.
    I'm seeing multiple gunship facilities spawning clustered painfully close to each other again as well.
    ... and that's just on the bot side for the most part. I'm not even going to go into the huge list of re-introduced and new bugs from this patch :(
    I like the design intent in this patch, but holy moly, we waited for 6 weeks, and got a buggy mess. Arrowhead's QA team needs to up their game or get more help :(

      I do feels the overwhelm in each level. As i often play before update, it is MORE harder than usual.
      ( the _jumping_ difficulty is too high )
      Although, sometime it is relax and sometime it is TOO CHAOTIC for some reason. 🤔💦

    well, so far my experience with the new patch is okay, but oh my....last night me and my brother (im lvl 76 and hes lvl 56) did a simple lvl 6 run to get some easy medals from the bugs, but...they had other plans. we were doing a egg hunt mission, and on out very first encounter, we had 4 swarms of hunters, and 2 chargers. (chargers are nice to be lowered in a roaming patrol) we thought it was just bad luck for those spawns.....oh my i was naïve, we get to the first egg nest...i used the airburst rocket to get first batch of eggs down...just to kick the hornets nest...i wish i was joking.....7 chargers, 5 spewers, and loads of commanders and hunters (around 200 bugs) came running out like we called their mum something horrible. mind you we only had 1 380, 2 airstikes, the first machinegun turret (testing the time reduction, can say its actually good). 1 airburst *ship version* (he was testing to see how it worked now against the bigger bads)....and i was running the adjudicator rifle, and he was running the eruptor. Remember...this is on a lvl 6 hunt eggs....
    it did not go well, we lost 8 lives in around 1 min. it was rough.....the chargers still charge like normal but decide to go Tokyo drift on us and insta turn around and smash us. soo that didnt help.
    sorry for the long post, but if i had to say anything....dont expect a lower level to be easier, it was just as hard as a lvl 9... (also yes there were bile titans, but only like 6 or 7 every 3 to 6 mins)

      Well, the less people you have the more patrols are on the map and if you sit and fight, a patrol other patrols are gonna start converging on that position position because one they they hear the noise and two if we’re close to enemies, and we can see them there there’s no reason that other enemies don’t have a way to find out where we’re at too

    Ive been playing level 7 since day one. Bots on level 7 are insane. They're more accurate and bot drops feel like they've doubled. Bugs are slightly more tolerable but many of the weapons still feel weak. The helldivers break continues.

      learn what fights you can and cant take. duck and cover, bots are brutal but you just have to learn how to fight them. you really shouldnt even be fighting bot drops unless they are at an objective. try to scorcher on the last page of the helldivers mobilize warbond. it eats through ammo but you really shouldnt be conservative with ammo anyways

      @@imsweetthanks7677i totally agree, i think the main issue a lot of people have with higher difficulties is that they take on everything.
      They just run head first into huge armies then end on a death spiral.
      The higher difficulties are tough don’t get me wrong but I really don’t think we should be able to beat them through just pure brute force.
      We should have to play a little smart, let patrols walk past, run if multiple bot drops are overwhelming you, ambush bases to try and kill the ones that call for help.

      @@samhill7817 Aye, been at the Bot front for a while during the Major Order to save the children, some bot missions were good... most were not. Hell, expected much in eradication where I laughed like a madman as I love the chaos. Eitherway, in other missions that isn't eradication, play smart and you won't get overwhelmed. Have the right equipment and all will go smoothly as possible. I have been doing sneaky alone, and some mates be alerting armies on their position... It seems true enough you pick fights that is good to handle.

      @@samhill7817 And that's exactly why they "had to" move super samples to difficulty 6. I guess we can't expect much when the average gamer apparently turns their brain off when they play so they can't get past difficulty 5 or 6. Supposedly the jump from 6 to 7 is a big one, but I didn't notice it. I'm not even that good either.

    I like the direction they are going with the game, but ever since the patch about 80% of the large group of people I play with have game breaking issues. From being unable to send/accept friend requests (option is straight up not there) to the game crashing every time you open the pause menu or access socials.
    I was really hoping that all the issues with socials would have been adressed in the "mega patch" since its the entire point ofnthe game. But instead it is worse and there is no ETA on a hot fix (twinbeard said this himself)

      No the crashing due social menu issues were INTRODUCED with the mega patch. They're still working on a fix for it.
      The friends request not working is a long standing 'known issue' and that is on the backburner.

    For the spawns, it's hit or miss in mine and my friends games. Some missions bots or bugs seem fine, and in other missions it's like there are just a ridiculous amount of patrols. We were messing around in level 4's and were getting 2 or even 3 drop ships with a bot drop or 2 bug breaches spawning about 25 feet apart from each other. The next mission, that wasn't happening. No idea what is going on.

    What i noticed is, you need a lot more Chaff clearing. With the Changes to slows i put my Shield to Rest and got back to Supplypack with Grenadelauncher.

    Confirmed that there are fewer spawns, but because of the body count changes, bot drops and bug holes are dispensing more. Even on 4-player Helldive in Scout armor, I can confirm I dodged fewer patrols on detach missions, but the standard bot drop was four dropships at once rather than two. Notably saw far fewer Factory Striders. Tanks felt unchanged.

      I feel the reason for some ppl feel harder now will depend on how fast the squad can clean the small bugs.
      There are way more small bugs than before. If the squad can’t clean them quick enough, the enemy number will keep accumulating until the moment they cannot handle.
      Definitely so few titan now.

    They may have reverted spawns.But then they started changing spawning format by taking away one set of enemies and adding another, so nothing was reverted.A spawning system was just changed entirely

    As far as the patrol rates and heavy spawns. The bugs seem fine. The automatons are out of control. Last night there were 3 hulks in a medium base, a drop ship was called and 2 hulks were dropped. I see hulks everywhere now. This was at both level 7 and 8. Idk about level 9 but there seems to be a massive influx of hulks being utilized in the game now

      I won't lie, as a newbie helldiver, I find the bugs ALOT harder than the bots, stalkers are immortal and chargers survive every single anti tank shot our team hits them with, but the bots, all I need is a laser cannon and my defender SMG, and I wipe the floor with those hulks/devastators.

      I understand. However, it was addressed in the patch notes to lower the amount of hulks. I have no issues with either of those difficulties. I am reporting what I have seen bc it was asked and what players are reporting seems to be different than what is actually going on in game. Even Twinbeard is looking into it as it has been reported so many times.

    @LtBuzzLitebeer , the reason why it seems that there are more patrols is, that the Gunship Patrols seen lately including the Swarmer Patrols do not count to the normal patrol spawn. So we have the normal patrol spawn + flying patrols, which are overall being seen as more spawns overall. I tell you , its not fun if you are being hunted by a flying patrol since that could mean 5 gunships. I thought that Arrowhead wanted us to use more chaff-clear weapons, however we are forced to carry even more antitank because of flying patrols and behemoth chargers. Thanks for nothing.

      Well, in my experience, last day i was in the bot front, i was hosting 3 randoms and when we have one last objective in the level, one patrol appear, it have like 4 to 6 heavy devastators in an open área. We strugle a little for the lack of AOE but we Kill them. Rigth as we Kill the last bot, i see a new patrol spawn behind a mountain. Same shit but with a Hulk.
      When the extraction beacon drop, the patrols where constant. 20 minutes, constant figthing, and the amount of Heavy Devastadors was insane. Constant snipes for his miniguns from like 250 meter away.

      I agree the last bit mission before the new bug MO. We had not 1 not 2 but 3 fucking hulks drop from 4-5 of ships. Then my team ran into 2 more while also being hunted down by at least 20 of the axe wielding bots. How the hell is anyone suppose to run chaf clearing weapons on bots when you have to have anti-air to even try to do an objective?

      @@DestronGaming1213 have you seen what happens to sentries when rocket devastators are in play? They poof in like 3 secs. No joke and considering the new spawns. You see more of them now. Alot more. I run quasar for anti-air because the cooldown is quicker than the stratagem cooldown for Eats but still not enough. Let's say you got 5 minimum of the gunships. Youd need 3 people at most to deal with just them and that's if you and your squad mates hit their shots with the Eats rockets. Long story short. It's too much. I like the idea of roaming patrols I do. Maybe we need a new anti-air sentry cause the "rocket sentry" ain't it.

      @@atomicgamer1069 It’s All about placement! You can throw a sentry down then aggro a patrol with a few shots. As they turn to pursue you, the sentry should be down and firing shots at them. Now you can pop back out of cover and throw a nade, let off some shots from Aoe weapon, start unloading with one of the machine guns, etc. Train up on correctly Placing Sentries at the right time and the enemies of super earth don’t stand a chance! Don’t let the relentless and ravenous automatons instill a single, dirty, drop of doubt in your cup of Liber-Tea Helldiver! Good luck…..

    Played several games on Marfaka LVL6 just to see the super samples....and it seemed like there were patrols everywhere all the time. There were still plenty of hulks and the gunships, and lots more scout striders.

    I've only played solo at 4 and 5 since the new patch. My observation has been that there are fewer patrols, but EVERY breach and set piece produce MANY more enemies. I just think there is a certain portion of the dev team that wants the game to be punishingly difficult and will always give with one hand and take away with the other. Have not played enough to be sure yet, but that's def how it seems.

      Idk, I run 8 and 9’s, and it definitely seems better to me.
      Before this patch it was definitely noticeable how bad it was. Lvl 9 bots was a nightmare most games, but now feel a bit more balanced, even with Gunship patrols.

    Finished a mission just had to get back to extraction. Did a turn and was immediately surrounded by enemies, they just spawned out of thin air. Everyone died within 5 seconds. When we spawned again I just fucking ran. Just booked the shit out of it and used every stim till I got out of the tornado of bots.

    Bot spawns are insane with the new update. A single reinforcement dropped 7 hulks on two drop ships. I thought they were limited to like three per drop ship, but one dropped four. Overall the chaos is a lot of fun!

    Edit: although now the devastators feel horribly broken in the context of spewers getting a pass to make them die more like the rest of the bugs do. Feels like devastators are the single stand-out unit that is not congruous with the rest of everything.

      devastators are completely insane. not to mention 6+ feel like 60% of devastators are heavy… i like the composition of the enemies as is, with the strategies i run, but i understand that some people are more content with running AT weapons. maybe that’s why people complain? because they don’t have a build that covers all their needs in engagements? just a thought…

At helldive, it was very evident how damn broken the spewers were and now how damn broken the devastators are because of just how much they are the most effective unit on the enemy team. Cranking the game up to helldive shouldn't leave spewers and devastators as the hardest enemy type. This makes difficulty 9 really not seem that daunting to me compared to say 6.

    A thing that many don't remember about the new patch notes, is that they mentioned that they went back to how it was with the enemy spawns, by decreasing the quantity of heavy enemies, like the Bile Titans and the Striders, but they made an adjustment, by increasing HORDE type of enemies. So that might explain why there are too many.

    As a predominantly solo player the patrol spawn revert is amazing. I finally have some breathing room between objectives.
    I think people may be conflating patrols with bug breaches like you said. There's definitely more bugs coming out of them and there have been times where I get overwhelmed and have to pull back and one of the little guys I missed is able to call in another bug breach. But usually if I can wipe a patrol out quick enough, I don't get any bug breaches.

    I would argue the game is tougher on the Automaton front post-patch, but that’s only because gunships can spawn as patrols now on higher difficulties and frankly was well deserved with all the buffs we got. This patch was nothing short of a miracle imo and using stratagems and weapons I previously wouldn’t have given a second chance feels so refreshing, and Helldive still feels like Helldive in terms of toughness so I can’t complain too much. Been loving it!

    After playing 4-6 hours a day since the new patch, what I can say about the patrols spawn rate is that the amount of enemies coming from bug breaches or from drop ships have increased indeed but regarding the patrols, they seem to be more of them coming towards you when you are AT THE OBJECTIVES but seem to be more "quieter" when you are not engaging or just roaming around the map. Also, I would like to note that patrols now seem to "patrol" randomly near your location and not the previous patrol coming towards the direction you are heading to and trying to BLOCK your way, which was annoying and just wasting time imo.
    Overall, I can verify they did revert it back to the old patrol system because I have been experiencing peaceful extractions now in Helldive just like the before(when i was just a cadet in diff9) if you know how to bait away breaches/dropships before and during the extraction.

      basically once you’ve been noticed, you are forced to lock in and play tower defense for like 3 minutes. if you’re on your own when your noticed then it’s over for you. bots are particularly bad atm because of the gunship patrols, which would be fine normally. however, seems my brain damaged teammates love shooting at the gunships for some reason even when they have no armor pierce whatsoever… makes playing the game a drag. and it’s not like I can just play without teammates, cause that ruins one of the core selling points of the game. teamwork. I wish more people would see that instead of trying to be one man armies, going to the edge of the map, dying and then leaving. this community is the worst I’ve ever seen it at before as no one can really agree on one thing. what a fall from grace…

    On the "patrol" bug, last night I was playing a difficulty 2 mission solo. I had completed the main objective and was passing the SEAF artillery on the way to extraction. I began to do the sub-objective when two partrols showed up. One of them breached. From that moment on there was an unending horde of terminids swarming all over. I emptied every gun I had multiple times (I was using the supply pack) and was still being swarmed as I ran all the way to the other side of the map. After five minutes of running and killing everything in sight, I was surrounded by a half dozen hunters with who knows how many other bugs following after them. It got me so disgusted that I just shut the game down and stopped playing for the night.
    It must be a bug in the code because that is the first time it has happened out of maybe a dozen solo matches since the patch, but it was totally game-breaking for me, and as I don't do the whole social media thing, I have no clue how to go about reporting it.

    I think the goal of this patch was to have a chaff cleaner, a heavy dropper, supply pack, and an all rounder.
    I think that since the patrols have been reverted, we've gotten used to them making a beeline right to us and having to dispatch them ASAP. Now they don't follow us anymore and avoiding them is that much easier, but we've been conditioned to engage to get them off out backs causing their reinforcements to pop up and it's chaff central

    Lvl 9 dives have felt hectic with the new spawn rates, but less overwhelming because it doesn’t feel like holes are breaching under my ass every 30 seconds. I’m fine with more bugs. I prefer it sometimes. I just miss the original version where you see a patrol and then that patrol can call in reinforcements if you don’t kill them quickly. I don’t think having random breaches popping up all over makes sense for the game.

    If I had to guess, the spawn issue might be due to the flying patrols. You can't easily avoid 5 gunships unless you are far from them. If they spawn on top of or even just near you, that can force you into compromising positions due to requiring some form of cover to fight them effectively. 5 gunships all at once, no orbital can easily take them out, having to avoid their rocket barrages, and how much they force you to reposition makes it all that much more likely to run into another patrol or 2. Then having to fight a normal patrol all while having the gunship rockets ragdoll you drastically increases how much time it takes to deal with patrols or drop ships.
    If gunship patrols counted as a standard patrol, I bet that would fix a lot of what we are seeing now.

    I think people forget the necessity of constantly being on the move and not staying in one spot for too long. Move quickly, clear whatever hatcheries or SEAF objectives, get back on the move. It makes sense that the patrols will just keep coming if you're staying in one spot, making all the noise with explosions and gunfire.
    The biggest problem that has yet to be addressed in my opinion is the disconnection and crashing issues.

    Yeah the bugs are legion now, but possible. Helldives were a blast last night. There were a ton of superchargers, but not a whole ton of bile titans at once. Was glorious chaos. But still having launching issues

    I've played on 3, 4 and 6 against both bots and bugs. I've run solo, with a partner, two partners, and a full team.
    The patrol spawns seem to be down until we're up to a full party, keeping in mind that several things make patrols spawn faster. I suspect some or many players aren't aware of the mechanics involved in patrols spawns and are playing the game in a way that encourages faster spawns. I don't feel like digging the link up, but a group of players did some in depth experimentation before the patrol spawn rate ended up at max.
    To summarize their findings, patrol spawns have a MAXIMUM interval based on mission level, enemy (bot or bug), and number of players on the map.
    Several things accelerate the patrols spawn rate without affecting the MAXIMUM interval.
    -Player proximity to primary and secondary objectives that are not yet completed
    -Proximity to intact medium and heavy outposts
    -Proximity to the extraction zone at any time all cause the spawns to show up sooner
    -Proximity to bot fabricators or bug holes that are near objectives; The fabricators and holes seem to have a greater effect than the objective, so pop those before engaging the objective
    Note: Proximity is as far as 150m from the map icon. The closer a player is to any of those things, the stronger the effect is, with maximum intensity within 50m.
    Three things reduce the maximum interval, thereby increasing patrol spawn frequency.
    -Completing the primary objective causes the patrol spawn rate to quadruple, meaning they'll spawn every 20 seconds instead of every 80 seconds (as an example, not hard numbers). So if you want to clear the map and get as many of the resources/POI's in the map as possible, leave the last part of the primary objective for last.
    -Completing secondary objectives and primary sub-objectives has a small effect on the maximum spawn interval, if I remember correctly.
    -Wiping out more than half the medium and heavy outposts accelerates the patrol spawn rate linearly based on the number of medium and heavy outposts destroyed beyond half.
    Additionally, every player/group of players more than 75m from the rest of the players will have an independent spawn counter. If all four players are spread across the map, this will result in four patrol spawns AND they will spawn near randomly selected players. It is entirely feasible for all four spawns to show up near one player. If you're split into pairs, you'll spawn two patrols.
    I suspect some players aren't aware of the above mechanics and so are triggering an uncomfortable number of patrol spawns. If you play with these mechanics in mind (in other words, play strategically instead of just running and around and shooting everything), you can exercise some control over how many patrols spawn and how frequently. I have no idea if the shrieker/gunship patrols are affected by these mechanics.
    What I and my friends have noticed is that the bot drops and bug breaches on level 6 are ridiculous. Multiple hulks and tanks, titans, swarms of bile spewers and immense swarms of hunters. It becomes impossible to hold a position. Naturally, it gets worse when a patrol or two come at us from the opposite direction.
    The rebalanced strats help out a lot but aren't perfect. For example, my brother makes solid use of the rocket pods lately since they actually hit the target a lot more frequently now and I've been hitting fairly accurately with the Precision Strike.
    TL;DR: Patrol spawn rates do seem to be down and are generally manageable as long as you play tactically but bot drops and bug breaches get nuts. We've also noticed that bots on level 6 are easier than bugs on level 6.

    So here’s the deal with patrols, patrols a filled with much larger groups of units, which means it is much easier for at least one to get off either a bug breach or bot drop. However a issue with making the patrol sizes larger is two things. One getting past patrols is much harder if you aren’t wearing scout armor they seem to see you from miles away and you either need to wait much longer for them to pass or try to get around without being seen. Two is the real big problem stragglers, which has been a problem since launch but due to the much larger sizes is more prominent. Some of the enemies fall behind the others due to terrain collision or other factors causing them to be disjointed from the group which can cause them to be randomly strewn across the map. If you kill a random bot or bug that seems in middle of nowhere it could still be linked to the patrol or be close enough to another group which is why a random bot drop or breach can occur as the initial group or another could be classified as close enough to aggro each other even if they are pretty much miles away. I have had this happen a few times, I am not sure what exactly to do to avoid this from happening as you still need to kill the in middle of nowhere enemies as they can also create breaches and drops.

    This patch update is full of bugs and glitches, me and my friends played last night and the resupply strategem glitched out so we couldn’t even re-up on bullets… Had to rely on guard dogs and other strategems to fight… They need to fix this game!!!

    Just for the sake of argument, I tried running an Easy solo - and I had a single patrol, resulting in a single breach, branch out and continue for 15 minutes straight, with more than 10 Hive Guards coming out, around 20 Warriors, and about 150 other chaff, estimated off the final number stats after the mission. On Easy.

    Not only are the Patrol Spawns worse, SO are the Elite Spawns! In one Level 4 mission, I encountered 7 Chargers in the span of 11 minutes and the team was forced to flee.

    Concerning patrols/spawns - Had a two person team taking it easy on tier 4, we did a total of two missions on bug worlds. Mission one was to close bug hives and we were nearly over run several times at the end, extracting with 900 enemies killed between us. The second mission was a different objective and we only had a few bug hives; we again completed all main and secondary objectives and only killed 400 bugs between us. So something seems to be up with the hives/factory spawners and maybe not with the patrols per say; not sure how else to explain over 100% increase of enemies between mission types otherwise.

    I’ma be honest this is a horrendous take. The new major order can quite literally be soloed and if you don’t believe me look at Ohdoughs guide that he dropped yesterday. The behemoth charger and regular charger are literally able to be cheesed as well with a flamethrower to the leg and a stun grenade, sometimes you don’t even need the stun. I quite literally do not know how any of you struggle with this mission, and if you do then it’s a skill issue I’m not even joking.

You're not supposed to succeed in every mission, there is going to be bs that happens, and some things wont go your way every time. Welcome to life.       My only 2 problems are the flyers and the amount of chargers. Other than that it feels so much better not seeing 9 bile titans at the same time every game and seeing more things like hive gaurds the chaos feels great and less BS.

    Just did a lvl9 Hive Drill mission, we had 2-3 bug breaches up constantly around the last OBJ. I mean that literally. There was always bugs crawling up around the last drill. Couldn't get through the bodies to even touch the drill. One point we have 4 Titans up. We truly dove into hell that day.

      Nuke mission you just call the drill activate it and spam stun grenades on it, clear or kite them off after it finished and just press the button to activate the mission, trying to fight is suicide because w/e you activate the drill it spawns 3 breaches around it.

    I had a guy joining to my squad last night. Dropping gatling sentry in the middle of the squad, calling airtrike on me. And when i pointed out to him, he just said :"stfu". When I talked back in voice chat he just responded spanish(or whatever)and muted me. The community was allways helpfull to me and when you trying the same and not working, solo diving becomes an option. Which I did for the rest of the night... solo diving is fun after a long day of work.😅

    I agree with your comments on the patrols and bughole spawns. Patrols seem reasonable and you can avoid them if you're paying attention. Bugholes definitely seem to have a lot more bugs spilling out of them.

    I’ve found patrols to be more manageable than in the previous patch. I’m not finding them spawning 5m from me at any given point and with better compositions. I’m also not seeing new patrols join in while I’m clearing previous ones. It sounds a lot like people aren’t efficiently dispatching liberty’s enemies and getting bogged down. The reworked orbital Gatling barrage does serious work in dispatching patrols and breaches/bot drops. Are they challenging encounters? Certainly! Especially since I’ve been soloing mostly since patch 400, but they’re far from unmanageable to the point of failing missions.
    And even the new hive breaker mission where it’s like that scene in Starship Troopers where they’re trying to wait for extraction hasn’t proven to be too much. I think the issue is that people aren’t using the right tools for the job. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Me and my friends usually game on difficulty 8, and when we were doing an ICBM launch it was nothing but constant nursing spewers. I am not kidding when I say there were DOZENS of them on the map at once. When we extracted we could see just a literal tide of spewers just schmooving on down towards us. So all in all I don't know if patrols are bugged or it's the breaches, I wasn't paying enough attention because I couldn't stop running around.

    Yeah, the Behemoth spaws are crazy, I was playing Helldive yesterday and the bug breaches always came with 2 to 5 behemoth spaws every time, there was a clump of 7 at one time, it was crazy.

    I agree, the amount of bugs that spawn from breeches have definitely increased in intensity. The amount of chargers I'm running into now is overwhelming.
    We run with a squad of 4 divers on level 7. We all have said the same thing. It's just nuts. Lvl 7 feels more like lvl 9 now.

    The issue I'm running into is the increase in chaff. I just don't have enough ammo to clear waves which means more drop ships or bug breaches. Trying a lot of strategies, the best tools seem to be either turrets or weapons with 100% up time. All it takes is 1 reload to start the process all over again.

    My tip for anyone struggling on the new mission is burn a stratagem slot for EMS Strike, and spam stuns til the nuke blows. If you're lucky a Titan will too busy hunting your randoms to get in your way

    When I see any new patch come in, I play a solo on Easy level just to test weapons, check patrols, etc etc... And I can tell you, the number of scavengers, hunters, and warriors on that level seem to have QUADRUPLED from pre patch. It seems the patrols seemed to stay at the same amount, but the number of scavengers and warriors that come out of a breach is just ludicrous.
    When I would test on solo easy before the patch, you would get a breach and see 3 waves: 1st wave about 5-6 scavengers, and 2-3 hunters with maybe 1 or 2 Warriors. 2nd would be 2 warriors, and last would be like 5-6 scavengers and maybe a hunter. NOW, after the patch... you get like 4 warriors with about 10 scavengers EACH WAVE, and the waves happen faster. I quickly run through ammo, and find myself having to get resupply more often. And the patrols may be less, but now they have MORE in them. Where as pre-patch the patrols would consist of 4 scavengers and 2 warriors, or 6-8 scavengers, or 5-6 scavengers and 3 hunters, NOW it's more like 8-10 scavengers with 2 warrior and 3 hunters PER patrol, and believe me - they are calling a breach.
    Again, I only jump in the level solo to test out new weapons, test patches, get my daily personal done quickly, etc etc. But I still take note of how the spawn rates and breach volume is. Not to mention, trying to extract it's a non-stop WAVE AFTER WAVE coming in.
    My last solo easy dive netted me over 600 kills, and I wasn't just sitting in place, I was moving immeditely after clearing an objective, bug hole, or secondary...
    I have also noticed that the minor points of interest have dropped WAY down. On the lower levels, you might have 3-5 on the map, whereas pre-patch, you would see around 8 or more on that same lower level.
    They did something, and it definitely isn't good. Just because they are lower-level enemies, doesn't mean you need to overpopulate them in the breaches. Sure, you get a lot of kills, but let me tell you, trying to fight off 40 scavengers, 8-10 warriors, 6-8 hunters and maybe 2 Hive Guards all because a patrol breached and another patrol came in and breached as well while fighting and running through the first breach isn't really "fun"

    While I realize that gathering precise metrics on things like this can be challenging, it seems like a simple number to examine would be the 'how many enemies were spawned' and 'how many enemies were killed'. That should give at least a barn-door level of information to start with.
    IME, bug breaches are happing more often and spawning a LOT more enemies lately, but actual patrols don't seem any larger or more frequent.

    Difficulty 9 player with about 3-4 squad mates. I agree with beer here as it's not the patrols are the issue its the bug holes and bot drops. It just makes the fire worse when fuel is added after a slug fest. Sometimes those spawns can be BS as I've had 3 titans or dog bots be dropped on me with a whole bunch of cannon fodder. I also don't feel those changes to the weapons and strats. but maybe I haven't adjusted to them yet. Bugs are more prominent than ever, had my Pelican land on a Titan for a few seconds and then just tumbled through the map making it so we can't evac. I think the content is nice but the balance and bug fixing is AH's major order. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk :3 !

    I primarily run helldive solo. Doing a geo mission I was still seeing (before deleting the game) a patrol spawns about every 6 to 8 seconds. With instant bug breaches from the hunters 1 to 2 Bile Titans 3+ chargers of both types and 60+ chaff. On top of that every bug within 200m being drawn in if you do manage to kill them all it dies down for about 30 seconds until Another patrol magically turns directly at you and starts marching. Also IMO they need to put a time limit on bug breach calling as I will see wilbours one at a time run at me start to call in I kill it and the very next wilbour starts insta calling. Also hunters never miss they will literally change direction mid air to fly at you or jump through terrain.

    The total number of patrols feels only slightly more manageable but the rate that our enemies call in reinforcements seems higher than normal. I'm seeing entire squadrons of bots get flown in and had to deal with 3 Factory Striders in the same area. Only run difficulty 9 on my own with 2-3 randos joining me in operations. Casual air strikes net about 15 kills per strategem.

    Patrol spawn seems less then before, but still there are moments where I am getting swamped. When there are chargers around it seems that there is less small bugs and otherway around.

Bile titan, 2 more chargers hunters everywhere. Die. Spawn. Die. Spawn. Die. Spawn. Bug breech. Die. Spawn. Die. Eagle off cooldown. Manage to escape. Charger patrol. Use an eagle. Doesn’t die. Throw another. Kills it. Still 4 chargers after us. Die. Spawn. Bug breech. Out of reinforcements.

    The current spawns are in part due to them reducing the spawn rate of chargers and titans, and upping the rate of smaller enemies.. so now the patrols and breach spawns are just a massive wave of everything.
    Like playing on difficulty 7, my team has been getting 2-3 players with 400+ kills on normal missions

    I'm cool with the idea of roaming gunships, I think they're a neat way of feeling like an actual hostile-inhabitated world, but they need to tone the amount in one patrol the fuck back. With just a 2-man squad of a friend and I, a fucking squad of 5 gunships just popped up as we were trying to do an objective. Even with a bit of cover, I can't take one out fast enough to not get ragdolled around by varying amounts of the others.
    I think they should come in at equal amounts to the squad you have in the mission.
    Though even then, a downside of the existence of these patrols is that there's way less build variety, because if you don't want to be an absolute burden to your teammates, then you need to bring a support that can actually take them out since those patrols are what you'll be fighting every 3 minutes.

    I mostly shoot bots at medium difficulty in random squads. It used to be that you could have a good ding dong, but since the patch the swarms of bots seem bigger and more frequent and even at lower levels you can get totally annihilated very quickly now.

    I have noticed that the Spewer spawns are INSANE, I have not played a bug match on difficulty 6+ that didn't inundate me with Spewers - Nursing or Bile. Before I was under the assumption that some maps spawned more hunters, some spawned spewers, some spawn more hive guards and some spawned more Brood Commanders, but I guess that was wrong because out of the 7 odd matches of difficulty 6 ALL of them had spewers of some variety, only one of those 7 matches had Bile Spewers instead of Nursing Spewers.

    I played the nuke drilling mission last night and my team was getting swarmed by hundreds maybe thousands of bugs we lost almost all of our reinforcements in the first 10 mins but the indomitable human spirit brought us to completing all the objectives with 1 reinforcement left. In the end, i was the only survivor.

    Fights on level 4 & 8 have felt like an increase of mobs spawning.
    For bug spawns I have had time where I was solo, duo, and trio. The bugs would already be there, we engage and kill them all, I'd turn around more would suddenly spawn, kill those, suddenly more would spawn, etc. Until we just ran from the area or all died.
    For bots, I've had 1 time so far on level 4 where I was holding a radar tower from never-ending waves of berserkers and troopers.

    So far I'm loving Helldive difficulty against bugs with the patrols and bug breaches, idk about the others but I like dealing with a lot of the small ones. Love using the Breaker Incendiary along with the Anti Material Rifle!

    I think the disconnect regarding bug spawns is that the developers might have overseen the way enemy spawning mechanics interact with each other.
    If HD2 is much like other horde shooters, then there’s an enemy budget, with smaller enemies, being “cheap” to spawn, and larger enemies, being more expensive to spawn.
    I think the problem right now is since the likelihood of getting BTs and chargers to spawn has been turned down, there is a massive surplus in the enemy budget that ends up getting spent on chaff enemies, which are more difficult than an equivalent amount of large enemies in the budget system

    Only thing I've noticed being weird is the stalker spawns, I've never seen a group of 7 stalkers until this patch

    I don’t know about the bugs, but the bot patrols can get extremely overwhelming. Even more than before.

      I always try to play bots for like a day, then I do and remember that it's really not fun and just go back to killing bugs.
