      Which is kinda jarring given their instance towards PvP.. I appreciate the fact they don't want to add PvP, as it would either be bland or negatively influence PvE, but I just can't understand all the concert about balance and metas...

    It's important to note that while yes, they do nerf a ton of weapons, more importantly they directly and indirectly buff enemies on TOP of nerfing weapons. Notably the arc thrower. They nerf the range, increase charge time, but increase stagger so you could stunlock Hulks and everybody loved it. Then they decide to buff Hulk stagger resist so you can no longer stagger Hulks. Eruptor can take down scout striders in one shot? Guess we'll nerf the eruptor, make it so that there's almost no reason to take it, and then buff scout striders resistance to explosive damage so it takes more time to kill for explosive weapons in general now.

      explosive weapons have such little ammo too, but even worse is they actually take your primary slot so it's worse of a nerf than people think vs grenade launcher or anything strategem

      The most balanced game ever released was the original MW2. literally everything was broken, and there were numerous bugs, etc, yet everyone loved the game.

      I work in the industry, the game is fine and the devs are doing the right thing.
      They are in what is called the Sustainment Phase. This covers 3 things. Working casually on dlc, while wrapping up bug fixes that couldnt get in before launch, and balancing. It is there literal job to make the game more balanced. Thinking it being PVE means you dont need balance is extremely incorrect and foolish, I remember when every player used the railgun and only the railgun, pissed me off, glad they nerfed it. Cause otherwise what is the point of having other stuff. And also its infinitely easier to nerf something than to buff everything else.

      the worst part is these vehicles are fully functional in game files and have been for months. I get not dropping content all at once, but the trickle is too damn slow. I'm getting bored waiting for all of these new cool things because it feels like it'll take months for us to get content thats been ready to go.

      I think they need to buff everything back to the original. And if a gun is not being used, because it sucks, then buff that gun until people start using it a little more. It's not fucking rocket science.

      The first thing they need to fix out of the 3 issues that were brought up in the video are the game bugs. There are far too many of them for a game that's been out this long. I've just had a valve objective bug out and my team left as they didn't wish to wait 20+ mins until the time up.
      The balancing is bad for far too many weapons but there are decent main weapons currently that are still usable.
      The warbond issue makes the game lacking in new content but their first 2 premium warbonds
      have lots of nice stuff in there.

      ​@@biggy2556 yes, but the real problem is that instead of there being a meta, now there is a "only viable strategy available", at least in the past the railgun was actually useful, now Antimaterial Rifle is a viable railgun and there is no reason to take the railgun over AMR, there is no reason to take the railgun at all in fact, every weapon has at least more than one use except for the spear, Railgun is only really useful for taking down one specific enemy, the hulk bots

    The issue is they are balancing around the top 1% of gamers. And as weird as it seems, I often find that difficulty 7 and 8 is WAY easier than difficulty 5 and 6. It is easier to kill 2-3 bile titans or hulks than to mow through a thousand chaf enemies that sometimes randomly one shot you, and lower difficulty is just flooded with chaf.

    The biggest issue for me are the constant disconnects. I could always play Halo 3, old COD games, Battlefield Bad Company 2 etc back in the day with minimum issues and yet me and my friends are lucky if we can go one day of playing HD2 without horseshit disconnects, sometimes having to close and reopen the game just to rejoin. This completely fucked me and my friend over the other day just when we called in a Pelican, causing us to lose all the samples we collected.
    I paid money for this game and yet it's too much to ask for the matchmaking to just work as it should?

    It's not *only* that most weapons suck, it's the thought that EVEN IF I find something fun cus it's effective, it'll get nerfed into the ground. All while the enemies get harder my tools get taken away. That's great for player agency. Thanks Alexus: who already did this to Hello Neighbor 2.

    I really hate the Railgun revisionism we see now. The RG was not broken, it took two shots to a chargers leg to strip the armor, then three more to kill. It took 12-16 shots to a bile titan head to kill them as well. The reason it was nerfed was because the devs dislike Meta and they were trying to hide a game-breaking PS5 bug that allowed people to one shot or two shot Bile Titans. This bug also affected the Recoiless Rifle but nobody noticed because of the reload.

      @Micecheese The Railgun is *supposed* to be a middle ground between heavy weapons and medium weapons. Quick Reload time and no backpack. It really isn't intended for Biles and the pre nerf version reflected that. The RG was perfect for Commanders, Spewers and chargers. It could take out a bile in a jam, but you should have a railcannon or RR for that

      RG is still able to do everything. just use it on unsafe that’s the real point of the gun high armour piercing but the cost being time you can’t over charge it or you die just takes a bit of skill to manage but it’s not that hard

      No one was doing that loop for chargers, you would break the leg, then swap to your breaker and kill the charger pretty much instantly. Bile Titans have had a bug, maybe it's been fixed, but they take more damage with a Playstation player, allowing the RG to 2 tap a Bile Titan.

      @@Damaged7 The game is still fun! for sure.. But its just as fun for me, to find a new game, learn the mechanics and then move on. I recently started playing SpaceStation 13. That shit was crazy hard to learn. Honestly being a gamer since aged 4, i am one thats hard to keep. I am almost at the point where- I am going to leave gaming forever, as I cannot keep up with the monetized motivations of game devs. I once used to study video game design, I am aware of the pillars of design and the mechanics of design. I gave that up in search of becoming a doctor to add to my community. I was expecting a plethoria of content being added. With the increased level count (I am fleet commander atm) i WOULD have loved a pathway to earn unlocks etc.. Instead, the previous CEO stepped down, couldnt handle the pressure. I am at the point where, I might just get video games for nostalgia purposes- rather than participate in the current state of video games. I am not alone in my sentiment. Your opinions make me feel you are really.. stubborn, uneducated and a perfect consumer of video games titles. You're the reason the games industry went from a niche-nomenclature of artistic, neurodivergent and nerdy peoples- Into a kardassian style episodic binge-watcher ethos of a circus.

    The only two issues I have with Helldivers is very simple ones.
    1. The devs keep nerfing the dumb fun stuff out of the game, which always is a negative for me. I hated it when Grounded did it with its equipment and that game was a PvE survival game.
    2. The community manager basically banning and weeding out anyone who doesn't like their politics, despite the lead developers saying Helldivers 2 would be purely apolitical.

      ​@@kurisutina8067bs. The average base for pc was around 65k and peak was 125k. (Ps player are not interesting because they were not affected). The average in total was around 120-140k. The mainproblem wasnt Sonys dickmove but the complet idiotic patch 1.000.300

    Too many people concerned about power creep in a PvE game. It’s not power creep, it’s a galactic arms race. Lore wise, does it make sense for the weapons of war to devolve?

      It’s a funny thing huh, why I think the game needs to embrace more lore into it as of right now the lore feels too scared to fully embrace and flesh out a narrative.
      side not, power creep is more of an issue of making everything else not feel worth using and the stakes being raised just gets more taxing on literally everything in a game in pve setting so but nerfing things into the ground also doesn’t help understand what the difficulty of the game is :P

      Lore-wise I always figured more need=corners cut/ simplified=lower quality. Good examples are inter-war 1930s firearms quality vs mid/late WW2 firearms quality.

      I feel like this is One of the biggest points. They kind of treat it like a Warhammer or d&d game or something, where balance of certain items would be a factor, only if you could actually obtain those and the set amount of items was already dictated by the game mechanics. The fact that there are so many weapons that get left in the dust at any given point is just disheartening, even if you really like a gun, who's going to use it when you can't affectively take out the mobs in higher levels? The meta is only meta because they do the most effective job across the board, otherwise people would be using everything else that would be in its class.
      In a real war, you use the most effective tool for the position that you're in. You're definitely going to be using bigger guns to take out bigger targets, that's just the way of the land. If the highest difficulties have the biggest monsters and they're the most often ones, of course you're going to take the biggest and best guns for that particular job. I don't think logic and balance are on the same team here.
      Balance only applies like this in a PVP because otherwise everybody's going to use the exact same gun, and that does get boring. While I understand the need to fix broken mechanics, the mechanics of the guns that were meta before were not broken, and they were nerfed because they wanted to hide actual broken mechanics that people figured out. I think what's happening is the devs are trying to play a cat and mouse game with their expectations versus what they expect the audience to do, but there's a lot more audience than them, and I'll figure it out way quicker than they expect, so they have to about face every time and create some BS in order for them to save face or look smart.
      I might be rambling now, but the sentiment feels pretty shared across everyone here, that the game was fun when it first came out, when it was simple and things worked for the most part, and now, things do not work, and you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone who is particularly happy across the board with the game. I still have some fun with it because I found what works for me, but that's also after losing so many different options, having to resort to other options that are not any less broken but just less convenient, and having to deal with that because what else is there to do other than just completely quit? I don't know who drank the Kool-Aid harder, the devs or myself, but I don't think anybody is coming out unscathed.

      I got tired of idiots saying "let them cook" when literally every patch note takes a fun weapon, stratagem, etc, and then nerfs them into pointless crap. They always say they added more buffs, but they dont.. a slightly better crappy gun is still crap. I haven't played in weeks, went for nikke waifu's on PC. Don't have to worry about tons of nerfs anymore.

      The issues comes though on what the “right level” is, and it would seem as if the devs think that level is less than people want it to be. With enemies being stronger this does not help in the long run, obviously.

    i think a big issue too was the patch that made like half the players drop like 50% fps the optimization for the game is severly lacking in my opinion specially those who have windows 10

      I mean its also just hasnt really added anything majorly new recently. Plus Elden ring, CF25, and plenty of other big releases are pulling people away. People play other games, when they drop a new faction to fight the playercount will go back up for a month or two then repeat.

    We’ve barely had any content updates in the last two months if you don’t count warbonds.
    We need new stratagems, new enemy types, new armor types, vehicles, etc.
    The last big content addition we had was factory striders and gunships. Since then it’s barely changed outside of buzzkill balance patches that make the game less fun, and more frustrating/boring.

      @@Damaged7 I have, and it barely even qualifies as a trickle. You can make it sound like more than it is, and you are. We’ve had the worst warbonds ever (DD got gutted, and PP is the most piss poor excuse for content. Barely any of it is even usable), ONE new mission type, and four superstore armors that have been pretty mid with the exception of White Wolf.

    This is what happens when you leave your game's balance in the hands of the man who "balanced" Hello Neighbor 2 into being DOA and tried to dip to avoid criticism.
    It's still fun IMO though, you just need a goddamn lot more patience and tolerance for failure though. Just hope the CEO is successful in bringing the balance team back into line, since a healthier approach will be vital for the game's long-term success

      Yes because if gamers had their way the balancing would consist of buffing the quaser to be instant one shot kill with instant reload and all other guns would be nerfed so there isn't a chance you use anything else.

      The game was eventually going to die just because of the gameplay loop. There is only so much you can do if you were playing this game daily for more than 2 hours. That’s why I left. I don’t know what could bring me back besides an expansion pack. I feel like I saw and did everything available in this game already and it was fun but what else is left?

    i felt the exact same as this video. They ruined the game for me, destroying every single gun possible while increasing the enemy numbers and adding more dangerous enemies for example the Automatron Gunship. im done with the game and moved on as im simply not having fun. the Eruptor was the nail in the coffin for me

    I remember veing a rosy cheeked diver in the first month hearing about how they were going to do a balancing pass. My thought was "fuk yes, now more of the guns are going to be as good as the railgun." Then the patch happened and it was all nerfs and i know that attowheads form of balance just ment nerfs. Every balance patch i played less and less. Now i have no will to play.

    Personally, after the rail gun nerf. Things went down hill for me.
    The nerf made the later difficulties FAR more annoying as all you would get would be changer after charger after charger and Bile Titan after Bile Titan.
    The change to railgun showed us all just hot obnoxious it was because we spent half the game kiting them. We had no further tools to deal with the problems. Eventually they fixed charger weakness and reduce CD of disposable anti tank making it tolerable. And reducing the respawn of "oops 12 bile titans"
    This was then overshadow when they nerfed the breaker shotgun making a huge power shift in gun used. Also buffing Hunters indirectly ad now we had 0 solutions for mass hunter. As well as all other guns being weak in comparison.
    Later they release the LARS rifle which is so popular and used and again nerfed, same with the Quasar Launcher making it all over feeling less desire to invest on weapons.
    Overall this all ended for me when i found myself fighting for my life against machines air units being spammed and unable to really respond at all. I quit

    Free the Eruptor, it sucks now. It used to be fun to play and wasn't complete broken but now feels pitiful. The shrapnel is gone and it feels like it does no splash. I can justify decreasing spare mag and mag size but the damage nerf was unnecessary. Fuck the balance team

      @@itseasymodeThat's exactly what they do. They barely play their own game and if they do play it's on really low difficulty. They do, however, nerf things based on pick/winrate. Which has got to be, bar none, the worst and least nuanced way they could've done it.
      It almost reminds me of the War Thunder balance team. And if you're able to be compared to THAT hive of scum and villainy, you've really messed up.

It's just not fun to use many of the guns for a majority of players, time to kill is way to long for alot of guns and its incredibly annoying to be excited for a gun to drop, use it for a week and really like it and then have it get nerfed and nerfed again. I get it if you like using guns most people don't like, but acting like it's a skill issue is stupid and disingenuous.

      Dominator against bots (or if you really hate armored bugs).
      The Sickle for universal light/medium clearing with unlimited ammo.

    I say it again here, the graph clearly shows that it was not people getting bored, but actually driven away, there are two notable spikes, both before patches that made the game way worse, the first was the balance patch that nerfed the railgun, what it also did was increase armored spawn and spawn across the board and nerf other viable weapons; second one was when the game started crashing every second match for any reason, I remember the patch note with dozens of crash reason, some completely nothing like "starting match" or "calling is support weapon". These two are noticeable because the first one puts the game into a slope, before it was losing thousands of players weekly, from 400k, that's 1-2% attrition, which is normal, the first drop is a sharp drop from an upward trend, that weekend was looking to also only lose a couple thousand players, instead it lost 150k, more than third of the player base in the span of a few days. The second spike is also clearly visible, it was supposed to be a patch that fixes the game, instead it made it literally unplayable with crashes occurring almost every mission, clearly interest was still there, I would say if they actually managed to fix the game we could still have over 300k players currently. They've fucked up every chance they had, the sony shit was just the last nail in the coffin, by now the game barely hits 50k, and they've burned too many bridges to ever bring it back up, this game will be doing thousands at best by the end of the year.
    Also, Palword is a single player linear game where you are done when you are done with the content, it's not really comparable.

    The thing that soured me on HD2 is a few things.
    Starting off with the awful community managers that keep spitting their customers in the face, Sony being asshats and AH seemingly mismanaged their launch with disabled PSN and no real communication that this will be required nor did they initially bar people from buying it.
    Followed by the awful balancing attempts. A gun is fun to use and actually feels like it does something insta nerfed, a gun is used because people like it for 1 property (for example stunlock) insta nerf and this since launch.
    They dont understand that people who use meta loadouts play mostly the hardest difficulty and there it is required to run the strongest stuff because every other weapon or strategem is just inferior. Its crazy to me that they dont understand this that difficulty 7 and above needs you to go with the strongest options otherwise your time will be hard because barely any weapon can kill fast or destroy those high risk targets like Hulkers or Tanks.
    I honestly feel like they dont want their players to have any fun in said game and treat this like a highly competitive PvP game.
    Lastly they constantly balance instead of fixing up their game...

      But only really played EA games up until now on my PS5. I guess I should say thank you to EA for conditioning me that $60 CAD for a game wasn’t bad because it was half the price of some of their ultimate team packs throughout the year.

      So i got a 30€ Deal and played pretty much for 1 week straight. I am lvl 37 now and the game is insanely fun. To me it seems that the game is very subjective. I play mostly with friends and had a newbie in the stack most times, maybe thats why? Insert "first time" meme here. I bought the polar patriot warbound just to get the pummeler and it has been even more fun since then. To be fair i kinda run dry after an operation and need to do 2 games of overwatch and maybe a video of helldivers to quickly become motivated again and dont burn out.

    They argued that the Eruptor was prone to doing teamkills and the newly added ricochet mechanic had the unintended side effect that the shrapnel can travel up to 50m back to the player and kill you. So instead of removing or reworking this busted mechanic that adds nothing to the game except for randomly punishing you for shooting the horde in a horde shooter, they just nerf the weapon that showcased why this mechanic is not well implemented.

    This is how i play Helldive difficultly: Don’t even drop ordinance. Speedrun to objectives. Skirt around large enemies.
    Fucking boring. Where’s the no respawn difficulty? There’s no tension or team cohesion that we can use with the tools we’ve been given.
    Until the dev team changes the balance philosophy I’ll be checked out of the game

    Whoever balances the game works for automatons. There is absolutely no reason to nerf many of the weapons. Things become meta now because everything else is simply useless. Primary weapons especially and they re not doing anything about it, they can nerf something right after release but cant fix it all this time?       The auto cannon was always meta vs the bots
      The quasar cannon has competition with the eats and the rr now(not on cold planets)
      The shield gen backpack is still really good but now you actually have a reason to use the ballistic shield
      This just shows how little you -play- know about the game because stuff like the laser cannon and the ballistic shield are actually viable now

      Ands it’s not that the options are limited it’s just people refuse to play around their weapons weaknesses
      The knight smg and every assault rifle are great at clearing chaff but suck at killing devastators so bring the rail gun or auto cannon
      The counter sniper and the big iron are great at killing devastators but suck at killing chaff so bring the laser cannon or stalwart
      The sickle is good at everything but killing hulks so bring the laser cannon or rail gun
      Every single one handed weapon suck at killing heavy devastators so become one with the ballistic shield
      My favorite loadout is: heavy explosive resist, knight smg, big iron, stun grenades,rail gun, ballistic shield, and 2 other flex stratagems
      And all but the stuns and railgun aren’t seen that often because people think they aren’t viable because of their weaknesses
      TLDR: play around your primary and secondary’s weaknesses and you can have a really viable strategy
      *im not trying to be pretentious or anything I’m trying to say most weapons can be viable if you play around their weaknesses*

    Something I haven't seen anyone mention is that some of the post-match stats seem like pure fiction (friendly fire damage and accidentals come to mind) or you get the weird messages that you were offed by a teammate who was already down (so you know that one was wrong or at best misleading). If the metrics on their end are as bad as the info they let us see, then they are making a lot of important choices based on dodgy data.
    I don't really get the preoccupation with "balance" in a PVE game. As long as the gear is all distinctive and fun to use, and doesn't destabilize the game, then you've succeeded. It isn't like anyone is stopping you from eventually trying out all the stuff, and going with what you like best, so why ruin people's fun because some strategies are more popular than others?

      It's a slippery slope. Meta gamers have already been reported as kicking players for not taking certain weapons on higher difficulties. Why wouldn't that increase with a lack of weapon balance? That's unfortunately how society works, we play to the 1% that are such fuckwits they ruin it for the rest of us. Yeah, maybe not all meta gamers are doing that, but enough of them are to a point that it's causing a problem.

    I've slowly realized the game is not only not as fun as it used to be, it's becoming irritating in many ways. Some bugs have never been fixed, such as : finding yourself under the map, getting shot at from behing a rock (you can see the laser pass through it), random crashes, some objectives not working, game takes forever to shut down, network issues, sudden major drops in fps, etc. just to name a few. And those are issues that have been present since the release. When you add on top of that the repetitiveness of playing the same maps over and over again, never really discovering new enemies or parts of the solar system, the overall nerfs of the weapons and the buffs of the enemies, it starts to feel like a grinding experience more than just having fun with your team. By order of comparison, I used to complain about the stability of EA servers but lately HD2 has been far worse in that regard.

    The simple fact is, nothing much has changed or advanced in any meaningful way in the game. Just an endless stalemate engineered by Joel.
    As a result, the community, who have been eagerly waiting for the other shoe to drop, another r faction, a major story development, something, anything, have been left hanging with absolutely nothing to talk about but the wild balance changes being implemented at random by the devs, because that's all they've offered the community as they've chased the PvP balancing dragon in their PvE game.

      It's a living game..there will obviously be spikes and lulls in content..unless they set it up where the whole campaign is won or lost every few months and resets..there's literally no way to keep advancing the story everyday. I also keep up on leaks so I know the exciting things coming before ..so the game even in the grind doesn't get boring for me

      The problem isn't simply that the game needs to be balanced. The problem is that they've trying endlessly to fix what ain't broken, rather than focus on the things which are.
      So go on then. Tell us all what other exciting developments in the game we should all be talking about, which would be more interesting than this.
      Because if those things existed, this conversation would not.
      The game is not fine. It's broken and janky, while they chase the PvP balancing dragon in their PvE game, to the detriment of everyone involved. It wastes their time, the players' time and everybody loses.

    We’re talking like this game is years old lol it’s only been out like 3 months and it’s the most amount of content I’ve seen a developer put out in that time. I remember when games like call of duty would only get 4 major updates in a year (the map packs) with nothing in between. Now we get content EVERY week and people still aren’t happy. I don’t play the game that much but it’s because there are other great games that released.

    I joined helldivers around the time of malevon creek just a week before the suck patch that created the unending spawn behaviour.
    The game felt perfect back then, before that patch and it never got back to that feel again.

    2 months later, and the only weapon fixed is the spear (depending on the weather). Warbonds that we were told would slow down, keep coming out monthly. And this once great game is still bleeding players daily. But, they are listening (and laughing?).

    400hrs in the game, it gone stale. illuminate is not coming out because of sony debacle. 90% of the warbond content are useless. shooting the same thing with the same strat and build over and over again is not that fun after 400 hours... I think they need to go like darktide, give us perks that we can make unique build. trying new build is what keep these game alive. but before making perks, they really need to remember this game is pve, not pvp. they nerf the guns and armor like it's a pvp games... we cannot have fun with that...

    The biggest problem without a doubt is the fact that they prefered nerfing guns (which weren't OP in the first place and actually added variety of gameplay) instead of focusing their effort on bugs (no pun intended) and crashes.
    Waiting for months to see fire work as intended or the Spear being unusable since launch is far more important than nerfing the Eruptor.
    Priority, AH, priority...

      Yeah... I could see the ammo reduction, since it still doesn't have ammo problems after that nerf, but they shouldn't have touched anything else. The entire point of the weapon was to allow players to play with an inverse of the normal requirements. Typically, you can't justify bringing a machine gun because you need something that's anti armor, but the eruptor could somewhat fill that role as a primary weapon, and I had a lot of fun treating the eruptor like a bolt action version of the autocannon while swapping the support weapon out for a machine gun. Nerfing it just returned things to the way they were before with less variety of viable builds.

    I stopped playing Helldivers 2 3 months ago. It started out so fun then the nerfing began. None of the new weapons hit and were actually really terrible. Some of the Strategems don't hit like they're shown to do. It's like the only ones that get good nowadays are the enemies and that the players can deal with their peashooters. It feels like a cash grab at this point and this killed any enjoyment I had for the game. So much so that I removed it from my console.

    With 200+ hours into Helldivers 2, I don't actually have any issue with 'Content Drought'. I think the game stands very well on it's own two feet. The real reason I'm not logging in is just because the weapon nerfs make playing anything a slog.
    Eruptor, my beloved, does not do enough damage or even half as much explosive as it did when it first came out. The new Plas-101 takes too long to charge and doesn't even one-shot a scout strider (so what the hell am I charging it for if I'd get more damage with the other plasma weapons?) Most medium penetration weapons can't even kill the striders legs without running down half my mag.
    That's all against a SCOUT STRIDER. Meanwhile the Heavy Devastator can kill me from 100 meters away while firing backwards and I'm behind a rock.
    My guns need to feel impactful for Helldivers to be fun and they just... aren't, not to mention half of the weapons aren't even viable for 7+ because so many of them are Light Armor Penetration when most enemies have Medium.
    Just revert all of the gun nerfs, rebalance magazines so that the ammo pick-ups on the overworld will refill half of your magazines, and make Super Samples drop on Difficulty 6 so us more Casual players can run on lower difficulties and leave Helldives to the True Helldivers.

    Hot take. The game feels stale not because the game itself is that stale but because the community overdosed on the game in the first few months of its release and became numb to the content. I enjoy the game even to this day despite not playing it very often. I don't read patch notes. I don't interact with the discord or subreddit. I simply log on, pick my favorite gear and play the game with friends. We cycle through many different games. Overdosing on your favorite things is a surefire way to ruin them for yourself. It's important to pace yourself, especially with your favorite things.
    The nature of it being PVE also means that it's going to be easier to "See everything" than if it's a PVP game. It's honestly a fantastic PVE game and I LOVE that it's not PVP. PVP games oversaturate the market when it comes to co-op experiences.
    All and all I think the community binging the game as much as they do and trying to force a "Meta" and cracking the game to the extent that they have fully "figured it out." is an issue that plagues games and kills community enjoyment. It's not a simple thing to fix because it's the nature of gamers.
    Another thing to mention is that just like Palworld, Helldivers 2 getting a smaller more tight knit community is the best thing for it. Having a too loud and non genuine fanbase whose only it in for "The memes" is not sustainable and personally turns me off from games. I almost didn't play Helldivers 2 because the "Democracy" meme were so loud and annoying. A friend gifted me the game however because he genuinely loved it to the extent that he bought it for our entire friend group. He bought 5 copies so we could play. If not for my friend's genuine love for the game and the fact he still plays to this day, I don't think I would of ever given Helldivers 2 a chance because the memes were THAT annoyingly loud and prevalent.
    I got a bit off topic but I do love Helldivers 2 and I think what they need is a new faction with new missions, new maps, etc to spice things up. Meaningful content. Fantastic video btw. Keep diving helldiver!

    Unpopular opinion here. The random players for quick match have always been toxic. So many games of playing through a mission only to be kicked at the end so a randos friend could join actively preventing me from getting rewards and wasting 20-30 mins. It really killed my want to play the game without a group of friends period.

    I started playing a bit after the whole 'malevelon creek' thing. It really feels like they don't WANT you to win. I stopped playing because nothing was good, none of the weapons or stratagems where ever powerful, the second we get even a slight advantage they nerf it into the ground. I get the game is supposed to be hard, but getting chased around by ten unkillable chargers for the whole game, just isn't doing it for me.

    A big part as well is so many of us have unlocked everything and nothing to earn. We are maxxed out on all resources.
    At the start the game we all wanted to level up to earn more medals and slips for guns and strats. We would risk it all to get samples and got a good dopamine hit when we managed to extract with a massive bounty of samples.

    It's really annoying that new content, wether or not it is paid, was clearly not play tested with the examples of the mech and the crossbow changes. Mech just didn't work good and after their "fix" the rockets just suck to use now. The crossbow's identity was completely changed after we got used to it for a couple weeks so they clearly never actually understood what they wanted from the crossbow and didn't test it enough to then take away a favorite nich weapon.

    Trying to nerf things in a PVE game cause it's too overpowered for AI is stupid. It's just like Siege trying to nerf all the shooting in their shooting game

    Warbonds shouldn't be monthly honestly it's an insane rate of new armor, weapon, boosters and nades.
    In no way can you keep making it interesting and impactful with that rate. A 3-4 or 6 month schedule would probably be more reasonable.

    The disconnects are not phew and far between, they’re getting worse. I have’nt been able to play the game for the last two days because of it.

    They need to dial every weapon up to overpowered, in my opinion. Is there still having difficulties killing players, then add more difficulty settings. It doesn't seem that hard. But everyone, should be able to get super samples on a regular basis. Since they're necessary for moving forward and your upgrades.

    Since asking for buffs and not giving any ideas is more complaining that actually fixing the problem, let's get into some of my ideas for the big balance patch.
    The purpose of this is to give some underused/underated weapons some time in the sun.
    For starters, lets cover some of the most mid weapons that really need a buff. I will not be touching magsize or mags carried (with one execption later down the line). but anything else is up to be changed.
    Note for AP.
    Direct Hit: less than 25 degrees.
    Slight Angle: Less than 60 degrees.
    Large Angle: Less than 80 degrees.
    Sharp Angle: 80 degrees or larger.
    The CB-9 Exploding crossbow.
    Goal: Increase it's capablity at horde clea
    Fire rate increased to 150 bolts per second. Thus the DPS is nearly tripled, to 1050. Do note that this also increase the ammo expendature.
    Reload speed is increased.
    This was after using the weapon I felt that I could never shoot bolts fast enough.
    The Plas Purifier.
    Goal: Make the weapon better and more unique.
    The AOE damage is increased by 100, it now should be able to one shot a scout strider to the front armor. Like it does in the trailer.
    You can fire with a parital or no charge by quickly tapping the key, charging increases the area damage from 75 to 250.
    The Eruptor.
    Goal: Bring back the power of this weapon.
    Explosive Damage falloff reduced. Returning the shrapnel in a fashion that doesn't instantly kill the operator from 50m would require a lot of finicky codework that I don't want to put the devs through. This will help bring back a bit of it's old glory.
    Armor penetration on direct hits are now 4, the same as the AMR. This allows usage against scout striders' front sheild and notably, Hulk's visors. But you gotta hit e'm Dead on, which would take some good positioning, good aim, and nerves of steel. This give a bit of the high skill ceiling back to players.
    R-63 Diliegence.
    Goal: We should have a sniper more suited for bugs, shouldn't we?
    Fire rate increased to 450, same as the verdict.
    Durable damage increased to 25.
    Ajduicator
    Goal: Make it more usable, in a general sense, but maintain it's identity as a battle rifle.
    Reload speed increased.
    Damage dropoff decreased.
    Liberator Concusive.
    Goal: Update.
    The Liberator concussive now uses the Pummeler's stun effect, which should dratically increase it's viability.
    Basically the liberator just has jacked stagger values, while the Pummeler has a dedicated effect for stunning enemies.
    Tenderizer.
    Goal: give it identiy and more of a role.
    Durable damage increased to 45.
    The Beam Laser weapons.
    Goal: Increase their versitily and abilty to be used.
    These weapons can now light enemies on fire if the beam is focused for a period of time. Regardless of armor level.
    P-113 Verdict.
    Goal: More Handcannon, it is supposed to be a Super Deagle.
    Medium AP on Driect and Slight angle hits.
    Damage increased damage to 150, oh yeah, you can one-tap devestators now.
    Magsize reduced to 7, because Deagle.
    Mags carried and resupplied increased to 10. (You lose out on about 10 rounds total, big whoop).
    Recoil increased to 40, (Same as the Adjuicator, so don't go hog wild on that trigger finger).
    There is a bit of nerfing and buffing, but since I am basically giving you a pocket dillegence CS, I think there needs to be some form of balance.

    I remember when i said there weren't enough servers and they had to turn some new ones on. Some derp youngin thinks they knew so much about the industry and couldn't just turn more on. I'm like; lulz they shift servers over, load the stuff up needed and patch them in. They could get this done in less than three days. They doubted me, in less than two days more servers were up.

    They really need to leave fun things fun, and aim towards making the overall gameplay feel FUN and enjoyable. It does not need to be perfectly pvp-blanced since it's a PvE game. Allow us as players to have fun and feel powerful when we spread democracy and freedom against the threats of humanity.
    For example the Eruptor, it was amazingly fun to use with the explosion radius. They they added "ricochets now hit YOU" which lead to explosion hitting yourself and your team. Then they removed 50% ammo. Then they removed the explosion. Now the Eruptor is in a sad sad sad state. No longer the Eruptor, but the "slugger" in sniper form.

    i constantly get kicked from games with a message that says i disconnected. Then once back in my ship it won't let me join a game. I have to exit the game, verify file integrity. two files fail to verify. then once complete the game works again. It happens every day now.

      Yep same here I give up it so frustrating spending all that time in game you finally extract and get either kicked or disconnected no xp gains or progression you lose it all

    My biggest issue with the game is playing long missions and getting no rewards at the end - either because someone is trolling and boots people right before extraction, or because the game glitches. I am a casual player and usually dont have time for a long play session, so to have my entire free time for the day ruined by trolling or glitches really sucks.
    The nerfs are also annoying. I dont have time to follow every change to the game or to unlock and test every piece of gear - once I find a loadout I like, it would be nice if that loadout remained usable and didnt suddenly get turned to crap by nerfs.
    I was so into this game when it released, but the bugs, trolling, nerfs etc make it a frustrating game these days. It's been out long enough I feel like it shouldnt be so buggy anymore.

    You know what this reminds me of, and a great analogy for what's been happening to Helldivers 2, is that episode of Fairly Oddparents(wait come back, stay with me here here!), where Timmy wished for everyday to be Christmas. First couple of days were fantastic, great, fun, enjoyable, but the everyday afterwards was getting worse and worse; wasn't as many gifts, and the gifts he got were utter trash. This is pretty much what's happening, from what I've seen with Helldivers 2; Arrowhead can't keep up with the supply of demand from the players.
    First couple of months of the game was great, everything was new, stealth dropping new enemies or mission types, so players had some more wow factor, as well as fun conversations amongst each other. Now queue in the nerfs of weapons, and buffs of enemies, and the lack of newer unique weapons to stand out on their own, as well as some other things; and we've got the major issue that's been plaguing a lot of players. This game is supposed to be a challenging power fantasy, where we're playing "righteous" Liberators of the galaxy from the powerful Super Earth; we shouldn't be getting nerfed at all, if anything the enemies should be getting tougher, while we stay the same, or become stronger along with them. If they saw one "meta" was being overly used, you DON'T nerf it to the ground(in my opinion at least), you buff other weapons/strategems to that level so players have more options to toss around, then going to the tried and true. A PvE orientated game shouldn't be getting such massive nerfs, before getting bugs and glitches fixed first.
    I've complained so much on how Arrowhead should rework some strategems, mainly the support ones, sense we have so many of them, as well as some of the other guns, maybe even introduce a new status like Chilled, so then we'd have Arc, Burning, and Chilled to take on enemies. We all know, from the leaks, they plan on adding in more stategems and the Illuminate, but at that point, it'll be little too late, probably. I really wish they didn't add in armor stats or perks, because they're pretty worthless, as well as unimpactful for the most part(outside of having more grenades or stims), especially if they didn't put any on the helmets. If they were going to have perks like that, they should've made it where you just chose which one to equip onto you, kind of like the Boosters.
    There's been many issues with the game since launch, and after first they bothered me, but I had to start looking over them to fully enjoy the game, and in hopes they would eventually fix them or rework them in some fashion. Some of them have been fixed, but many others have gotten worse, or just overall untouched. I'm hoping Arrowhead figures it out, because I'd hate to see them not a year, when they've done so much in this gaming market.
    The game could really do with some different side content or something, to break the loop, something to use your Req on, since I'm sure a lot of players are already maxed out on upgrades at this point, so thus being maxed out on Req. Hell, it'd be cool if they added Rush type operation missions, where you need to power through an enemy stronghold to get to the objective, pick it up, and run back to the extract. As much as I love the immersion of the galaxy being a live and missions coming and going based on what's require of us; I really feel like we could do with something that sticks for the long haul, especially when it's so damn enjoyable. It definitely needs more content, for the amount that players eat up, to keep us preoccupied till newer major orders come out; hell, I'd be down with going to Super Earth and having some weird Civilian life Sim, I don't know, distractions can be good from the chaos of war.
    I'd also be down with having more customization options, because there's no reason that they couldn't have just made where we could unlock different colors for capes and armors, when they already have the same armor with a different color palette. I'd be all for grinding Req to buy different colors/skins for specific armors, instead of a long list of armors that are practically the same, but different only by their decal or color.

    I think they should focus on bug fixes first, balance second, and new content third.
    They've already talked about adding more people so it should get better soon. I suggest patience.

    Regarding the smaller glitches and bugs - they are very damaging in a game like this, and it's plain to see on higher difficulties. Once I was running away from berserkers, doing some run of the mill dives. Then, when I happened to dive on a small rock, the game decided it's time to ragdoll me, which resulted in me being mauled to death by said berserkers. Stratagems, like the all important hellbombs, turn blue and bounce around like it's pinball, forcing the team to call in another one because it's too far from the target. On Helldive, a few seconds wasted by a glitch can sometimes throw games. This is precisely what makes the community upset. It just doesn't feel good to have your plays dumped on by bugs and glitches.
