Best way to become an ironworker is to join your local union and go through the apprenticeship
title is misleading
There are also shop ironworkers they fail to say. i was one for 14 years in fabrication 7 years in steel arehouse work
Fabrication what I'm looking to settle into. Just joined a program. And based on everything I'm finding online that discusses the field, all of it is just erection sky work. In your opinion, what had more job demand?
@@shaunatate you want to make the good union money and have those great benefits and pension join the apprenticeship and do structural work. If you don't want to work outside in the elements than go the fabrication route. The ironworkers union has shophand locals as well. Depending on where you're located you may find a shop that has union represented fabricators. Either way though if demand falls you're gonna be laid off. So might as well go the structural route and actually learn a trade through an apprenticeship that way you have that training and those certifications so you can always find work.
i was a shop ironworker outside work wouldnt care for
Definitely miss leading.. It didn't say how to become one or anything.. It's almost like a commercial
....are you fucking serious man? Do you need someone to literally hand it to you and spell it out for you? Look up the ironworkers local in your area and try to join their apprenticeship .
