Because that truck was there for scraps... supposedly. He just put back what he originally picked up. But the truck that did illegally dump 1:20 you can see the plates.
All these street food vendors are not taking their trash to the dump. At the end of the night they dump it in an alley somewhere late at night. If they were a legit business you could write off these dumping fees off your taxes, if they pay any. And they should have to show receipts from the dump that proves they are disposing their trash the right way.
The city is more worried about putting cameras to cite moving violations. But no cameras to make the city cleaner buy having a task force to stop dumping. 🤡
Why "national" attention? It's a local law-enforcement problem caused by local people who should be behind bars. All we need are more cops on the street, but no one wants to PAY for that.
Illegal dumping in Los Angeles presents numerous hazards, impacting public health, the environment, and the quality of life for residents. Below is an in-depth analysis of the risks: 1. Public Health Risks • Disease Transmission: Illegal dumps often attract rodents, insects, and other vermin, which can spread diseases such as Hantavirus, West Nile virus, and salmonella. • Toxic Exposure: Many illegally dumped items, including chemicals, electronic waste, and construction debris, release harmful substances into the air, soil, and water. Exposure to these toxins can cause respiratory problems, skin irritations, and long-term health issues. • Fire Hazards: Piles of waste, particularly flammable materials, increase the risk of fires in urban and rural areas, threatening lives and property. 2. Environmental Damage • Water Pollution: Dumped waste can contaminate stormwater, rivers, and groundwater supplies, introducing pollutants like heavy metals and hazardous chemicals into drinking water systems. • Air Quality Issues: Decomposing organic waste releases methane, a potent greenhouse gas, exacerbating air pollution and contributing to climate change. • Soil Contamination: Leaching chemicals from waste degrade soil quality, harming plant life and potentially entering the food chain. 3. Economic Impact • Increased Cleanup Costs: Local governments and taxpayers bear the financial burden of removing and managing illegally dumped waste, often at great expense. • Devaluation of Property: Neighborhoods affected by illegal dumping suffer from lower property values, discouraging investment and development. 4. Social and Psychological Effects • Blight and Community Decline: Illegal dumping contributes to urban blight, making neighborhoods less safe and inviting for residents and businesses. • Impact on Mental Health: Constant exposure to unsanitary and unsightly conditions can lead to stress, anxiety, and a diminished sense of community pride. 5. Legal and Enforcement Challenges • Strain on Resources: Limited funding and staffing for enforcement agencies mean many cases go unaddressed, perpetuating the cycle of dumping. • Lack of Accountability: Identifying and prosecuting offenders is often difficult, especially when dumping occurs in remote or poorly monitored areas. Call to Action Addressing illegal dumping requires coordinated efforts involving increased public awareness, stricter
They shouldn't make it so expensive to get pick-up or so limited 1 item a year? Not right the stupid city makes such restrictive contracts with trash company!!!
We have a genuine problem here - a problem that is EASY TO SEE and understand, and yet we are issued nonsense excuses like this: "[we are] committed to combating blight and leveraging existing resources through a strategic approach". THE HELL YOU ARE. The city is doing less than nothing about this problem.
It's such a hassle to call for a few bulk items at home. They quiz you on every piece being picked up. Then sometimes they don't even come to pick it up and it sits there another week and you have to call again. This is just for a few home items. Take the trash and shup up. I totally understand why people dump on railroad tracks etc. It's quick and free. Try dumping a lot of stuff. They charge a lot and you probably have to wait in line. I'm not even talking about paint cans and haz mat stuff. What then??? Stop charging for every little thing.
So the cops are not enforcing the law even though they have the biggest budget and cities keep cutting all other public departments? Oh no what a surprise!
Let's keep sending money Billions to helping other foreign countries. Just one of those 90 billion?loans would do alot here in the ussa thats right the united sratagigest suppresing Americans but that's all we have to vote for
Its not just California, ft. mohave az has a septic co who dumped septic waste in the desert while charging and telling his customers his dumping site was a 80 mile round trip!
This is not a root cause, this a RESULT Landlords, property owners and property management companies clearing out apartments that are either left with furniture, OR from evictions they serve. They are never see to be held accountable. Not only do they get a pass by local news, city officials of course, in two areas; illegal dumping of furniture, other large items left from renters leaving their units, apartments, etc. which lead to ONE of the main reasons. Landlords, property owners and or their management companies issue evictions and make their tenants instantly HOMELESS. No offers to let the tenants try to recover, get another job, give them a break, maybe even help them with homelessness preventative assistance. The city, the local news media, all of them, have NEVER EVER implemented such a program. It's doesn't pay.
This is increasing at an exponential rate I figure within 10 years. Everybody just throws their trash out the window. And that one fella is gonna need a higher wall, just saying.
I don’t understand why people do this when the city sanitation department will come pick up bulk items for free. You just have to request it online and they’ll get it from right in front of your house
The guy picking up the scraps is good part. Is the city not enforcing this at night. This is how crime comes as people see it dirty then anything can happen.
It costs $120 MINIMUM to dump at our local transfer station. I still do it but that is so dang high. What are the fees going torwards? That being said, illegal dumping should be a felony see if it continues once that's enforced.
What do you mean it’s been democrat and it still is right now. Silly Trump isn’t the president yet. This is what your people cause. Are you stuck in a box delusional silly person
How about investigate in how much it is to dump trash at a local dump site. It’s not cheap too. Now you see the problem. You have independent trash people who go around to construction sites who will pick up the trash for a low price for the home owner can’t afford or won’t pay the full price for the person to go a dump it at the local dump site because there prices are high. There are city dump sites but those only cater to local homes in there area. Local dump sites need to be regulated if you want a cleaner city or continue to have what you see in this video. Hard to make a living when half your payment goes to dumping sites. Who can afford 500/600$ per truck load. Gas insurance and upkeep on your truck isn’t cheap.
Alhambra & neighboring cities are becoming dumping grounds too... all the homeless and crime migrating out of the city center and into the suburbs. Call the po-po's or take action yourselves.
And why don't these frustrated Angelinos call the police? Instead of just videotaping them? Oh wait... They did WHAT?!!! They defunded the police?!!! Well, in that case, nevermind!
Seeing that there's only about 1600 sanitation workers in the city of Los Angeles and then you have other smaller cities like the city of Chicago with over 3,000 sanitation workers with about half of Los Angeles City population something ain't making sense they need to hire more sanitation workers that's the bottom line and it's not mayor bass fault
WHY BLURR THEIR LICENSE PLATES???????
Because that truck was there for scraps... supposedly. He just put back what he originally picked up. But the truck that did illegally dump 1:20 you can see the plates.
The city should just eliminate the dump fees, and raise the penalty for illegal dumping
Dump fees so expensive with minimum charges for one item
They don't want to help their fellow citizens.
Simple and easy solution
I don't know about this topic wish i could find video with more info. we make more trash than almost anywhere else it has to be big business.
People are still going to dump . They don’t care .
VOTE KAREN BASS OUT OF OFFICE IN 2026 . SHE IS USELESS
Karen has been mayor for 2 years, Mona Rodriguez has been in office for 7 and she's still M.I.A.
Who? 😂
That Randall Winston guy looking like he is just in office for the pay checks lol
It's all "LIP SERVICE "from the Mayor bass & Deputy Mayor Offices.
Maybe the dump shouldn’t have a minimum fee of $100.
For the cost of living in LA, what a dump!!
That can be paid easily if you’re a business so are you doing the dumping
@ imagine there’s no dump fees…..I wonder if you can…,
@@giftedgreen2152Stop dumping.
Higher taxes to cover the cost of running the dump is what I imagine.

The city is more worried about putting cameras to cite moving violations. But no cameras to make the city cleaner buy having a task force to stop dumping. 🤡
They aren't sending their best
I am deeply appalled. This issue represents a significant public health hazard that warrants urgent national attention.
National attention. It's Los Angeles. California. Run by a super majority of democrats who don't care about you. Not a nationwide problem.
Why "national" attention? It's a local law-enforcement problem caused by local people who should be behind bars. All we need are more cops on the street, but no one wants to PAY for that.
Usual suspects 😂🎉
you can just call 311 for bulky item pickup
here we are 2024 and black plague was in 1346 and seems like we haven't learned.
It’s also a way for the city to get more money why cause “ look see, the citizens are calling us this is why we need more money “
Ding ding ding. Nothing makes more $ than a crisis

The guy that owns the Grove shopping center was a better mayor candidate a few years back. But Angelenos voted for Bass so this is no big deal.
where is our mayor?
Good luck with Monica Rodriquez.
The real source of the problem.
Love her hair though.
People are tired of calling. Nothing gets done.
Very common in CD Se7en. City council district se7en never enforce trash dumping or anything on 311 for that matter.. the district is a scam.
