Former North Korean soldiers have given their insight on the condition of thousands of troops deployed to the frontline in Russia's war against Ukraine.
The North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, has reportedly sent around 11,000 troops to help Russian forces reclaim part of its Kursk region taken by Ukraine.
Washington and Kyiv say the soldiers have now entered the fight "in significant numbers" and Seoul says more than a 100 had already been injured or killed.
However, defectors and other military experts have told the BBC these troops should not be underestimated.

Thinking the same thing. Besides the poorly cobbled together split interviews, they provided no context of the training clips they're showing. I'm forgetting the term but there is a descriptor for this over the top and exaggerated style of training that North Korea likes to show-off. People in organized militaries just laugh at this stuff. They value and romanticize it because in the Korean War, both sides would climb a hill from different sides, meet at the top, be in close quarters at the top of the hill and engage in hand to hand. A soldier+ Martial arts as an additional skill is much better then regular soldier with no experience in martial arts. Martial arts is extremely important to fight enemies in close range, you are yapping like only bombs and bullets happens 100% of the time 😂😂😂, in charges they gotta fight close range or if they run of our ammos. Close fights always happens in wars, stop capping

It means they can build bridges & roads and they understand very well which infrastructure to target on a battle field. BTW Americans also farm their own food in the base. They are mostly people who escaped over the northern border into China and were collected up by South Korean organizations that are in China specifically to aid escaped North Koreans.

Fighting on the battlefield is not like marching on the Parade Square. This requires a lot of determination, discipline, and sustainability. I don't think North Korean soldiers have even conducted combined training or shared their doctrine with the Russian Army. I have been on many operations and seen the war very closely.
I've always wondered who the best warriors/soldiers in the world are. Whether Spetsnaz, Gurkhas, Seals, Spartans, soldiers of the Iron Regiment, etc. Now it is definitely clear that they are Koreans. People fight invisibly using the Ninja method, they fight and die with magic shells so that no one, living or dead, can see them. 😎
