      @@howardbales5967 You can't go wrong with snapper, but I think mutton is my favorite. That was after preferring yellowtail for many years.

    I'm in San Diego. We catch Pacific yellowtail (jacks) all year long. Known as Hamachi in the sushi restaurants.

    No secret about our pacific yellow tail. Love the collars broiled with butter, bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. Cut little hash marks before adding cheese mix. Great on the smoker too..

You can't give me enough yellow Jack !!!🤙🏼 My menu for that would be mostly sashimi on the top loin, the rest of it I would do a seer with brown butter salt and pepper only or a couple minutes on the grill with a sweet shoyu glaze

      Thank you brotha! It’s not the same for every fish. Many fish will be okay round for up to a week under heavy ice. Gutted and buried in ice belly down will be a superior product though.

      Thank you brotha! Jack Cravalle is in the same family and caught in the same areas but different fish. Much lower market value/demand 🤙

      Absolutely, not really a fish you can intentionally target unless you’re spear fishing. Usually by catch

      Hey brotha! There’s no way to target Yellow Jack unless you’re spearfishing so you have nothing to worry about. Almost all Yellow Jack caught commercially in Florida is bycatch.

      They’re not targetable unless you’re diving so it’s unlikely but possible.

      Yellow Jack have a good chunk of meat in the forehead and nice little cheeks. Mostly only worth harvesting if you cook the whole head
