Are you still driving this truck? Curious if your trans has held up being out of a I’m assuming higher mileage parts truck. I have been looking for a 6 speed trans for a while now and there aren’t very many used ones here in northern ca. Debating buying a reman one or just building the auto. Thanks
I drive it all the time. A bit less since I bought my dually. I tow with it as well. Still shifts perfectly and still has the same clutch I put in it when I did the swap. I'm glad I did the swap or I mite be on my forth 4r100. I fried 2 before the swap.
@@elmaschinon2699 well that’s good to know. I’ve heard people having shifting issues with them or the pilot bearing going out and wiping out the input shaft but I think they are still a good trans. I have a floor hump, the shifter, clutch pedal assembly I got out of a 6.0 work truck. I’m assuming the pedals are the same since it’s the same body style
@@jakep9086 most the time people that have those problems is their own fault. They hear noises but never check till it's fucked already. I think those parts should be the same. But yea, great trans. And that's alot coming from me cus as u can see I don't quite go easy on my trucks.
@@jakep9086 yea pretty much. Now days everyone wants auto shit. I was told I would graned the zf6 and that an auto can take more but so far this 6 speed has held up better then the last 4r100 I had with a mild build.
The parts can get expensive. Well at least around were i live. Trans and t case run u 2500 or so plus the pcm and wiring harness. Probably round 3 grand on parts. Its usually cheaper to buy a wrecked truck use wut u need then sell wuts left.
That's a badass setup on your truck. I just got some welds for my 97 just need the boggers to put on them now
🤘

@@elmaschinon2699 yea true, a lot of people don’t know how to properly drive a stick these days. Everything is lazy and automatic lol

Would you consider 6spd swapping a 6.0 for money
Do you have all the parts to do the swap. You probably live to far for me to help you.
