This is a very misleading video. The controls are not a straight swap. I learned the hard way! For starters, MY 2013-2016 L405 and L494 controls are painted, so there is no need for them to light up during the day. The 2018+ controls need to be lit up all the time. So when you do a straight swap, you end up with new controls that are black during the day. I suspect that is why this video ends where it does. I'm sure when they turned on the car they realized the buttons didn't light up. Also, the phone button and steering wheel heater don't work. You need the harness adapter to do this upgrade. Unfortunately there is no way around it. -- Hope this helps.
On my 2013 L405, everything works, apart from the gear paddles. They stopped working after installing the new pods. According to the schematics, the paddles signals are coming through the pods. A real bummer, since I use manual shifts a lot when towing. I've just ordered new tactile switches for the original pods, so I'll repair them and reinstall. These aftermarket look a bit cheesy anyway, to be honest.
@@rhkavli mine have done the exact same. I just installed these and everything works OK apart from my tip tronic padels now no longer work 😢.... Probably going to have to go back to the old ones

This it crap because I bought a set yes from china and where shite got my money back. Bought a set from America and I had to change the wiring loom on the steering wheel but they work a treat but where very expensive
do you mind sharing where you bought then from in America. Are you still happy with them? Just traded the wifes 2018 velar for a 2014 L405 and she misses the smooth updated look

Mine work well.... Just for some reason this has stopped my padels from working. What do I need to do to sort this?

@@maximebarre8212you have a small little plastic cap on the back of one of the switches. Try removing this, this should solve the problem

Will stop your flappy padels from working. But everything else works fine if you follow instructions.
