Thanks for making this video!
That’s my favorite place to ride. I ride a trx250r and I love how challenging some of those trails can be when I ride fast!
Brilliant intro to HH. I wish I had this when I started riding again after 30 years. Instead, I started on Harmony Gate on my first ride on a "vintage" XR650L. I went over one of those mounds and face-planted in a g-out on the other side. Then, I went down Lower Field, missed the turn out for Lower Field Return, and wiped out big-time on Back Springs. I had to get bailed out by the rangers *who are great*. A tough start to my offroad career! :-)
That sucks, I hope you recover promptly.
Such a helpful video with great views of the park!
Residing in San Jose, I’ve only ridden Carnegie once for a D36 race. I live 15 minutes from Metcalf. When teaching a newbie I always take them to Hollister. Miles of reasonable flat trails to teach on. Metcalf has very little flat trails to learn on. But Metcalf has some great single track to sharpen your skills. I was riding Hollister before it was a state park, privately owned. Rode the Renz the weekend it opened, May 1,2008, the same week BLM closed CCMA. CCMA was a huge loss for the dirt bike community. 80,000 acres of dirt bike heaven!
awesome work! thank you. Please keep these coming. Would love to see an overview of Metcalf for beginners. tks
Nice drone footage. Thanks for the tour.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love this - would love to see/hear your thoughts on metcalf and Carnegie for the same subject
Carnegie has the most trails for beginners. Metcalf is ok also, but a much smaller park. At the end of the day, the closest park to you will end up being the best since presumably you will ride it the most, and time on the bike is what will make you better.
Great tour of the trails keep up the good work very well done 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great content man!! Really appreciate
Glad you liked it!
Watch out on rancho, by that small pond thing it can get really muddy.
how difficult is harmony gate itself, if you want to loop back to rancho?
It is a climb with some whoopy sections which is why it is better suited for an intermediate rider. Watch this video and decide for yourself. ruclips.net/video/HuZJEyJj_bc/видео.htmlfeature=shared
@@bayareadirtbiking249 thanks! Doesn't look too bad, but of course it's hard to tell how deep the sand is from the video. I'm on a bmw GS, so I'm always worried about sand :D
@@stanishate Have you ridden Rancho all the way to the Junction with High Rd.? You should be comfortable riding that 1st. Also, consider getting a dirt bike and getting proficient with it before trying to ride a GS on dirt biking trails. After the 1st time I dropped my GS at a steep trail at Carnegie, I decided to get a dirt bike for dirt riding, no regrets.
