I don't know where u got that from. I haven't been able to return games I started playing, but I've returned 3 games this year that I purchased and downloaded but never played.
You are either wrong or lying. Speaking from personal experience, they allow you to remove a game and get a full refund no matter what, as long as you don't launch the game and play it. It's not void if you download it and I think you have to do it within 14 days after purchase. Always do your research.
Well just to clarify, Just buy any game on the PSN at least here in Germany they will tell you, you have 14 days for a refund, unless you download it. That was written when I bought space marine 2 on the PSN for my PS5. They used more words, but that's the context that's written in the TOS. If that really holds up in court is a different matter, but we all know you don't go to court for 80 euro.
I hope this is just a joke. But some do say this unironically. Just in case: Sony's been doing this all generation. Concord coulda been the next WOW and we'd still get $50 remasters of games that already look better than some PS5 games.
No it’s not. Any company can stop selling a product/service, update it and resell the new version for a new price. Game publishers are the same. This is totally acceptable.
Stop torturing George Orwell. The poor man died a year after his book made a fortune, he's gone through enough without you turning the poor man's legacy into a joke because the price temporarily increased on a game you were never going to buy.
Rockstar did it and received zero real backlash, people still bough the trash "remasters" and people are going to buy up GTA 6. So, of course Playstation is going to follow
5 year old games already gets a remaster. They have so much good ps2 era games that they could "remake", but nope. Put a graphic update on "new" games and sell it again for basically doing nothing. Not gonna bother with playstations stuff anymore. I have the original Horizon on steam...and that will be the last playstation game for me.
They could legitimately just release Infamous 1 and 2 with updated graphics and no fog and it would sell well, but it's not seen as a "safe bet" since the games aren't relevant enough
A lot of old ps2 games are not simple remasters, they were written in different engines or engiens that they moved away from or not even being updated anymore for a long time. Essentinally what you think is a simple rematser can mean they have to remake the entire game from the ground up, and as you could hear in the diablo remaster (in that specific example) some parts of the game are impossible to remake the same way due to different logic and update methode of the old engine compared to new ones. Im kinda bad in english but hopefully you got it. On the other hand i would take some good rematsers with just updated textures and maybe some extra bug fixes in their old engiens.
People would love to make that decision, but they can't, because anybody who cares about this already bought the game, and this doesn't affect them in any way. This is outrage looking for a problem that doesn't exist.
@@imnotmike how is it not a problem that the PS5 has no games and Sony is choosing to make it's existing library more expensive? Remakes have already been getting annoying, now it's starting to look like the PS6 will just be using the PS4 library again, just ai upscaled so they can charge you more money
They're waiting for the fan project to port BB on PC to be finalized so they can swoop in with a cease and desist and then sell it on the ps store a month later.
@@65firered I don't think they'll be touching Bloodborne for the foreseeable future. Sony is too invested in pushing games that'll return them hundreds of millions of dollars, like Spiderman and what they hoped Concord would be. A Bloodborne re-release simply would not be that. Maybe Bloodborne 2 could enjoy a degree of success comparable to Elden Ring's, but then there's the problem that 1. they've closed Japan Studio; 2. Sony perceives the whole controversy about difficulty that comes about whenever there's a Fromsoft release as toxic to their brand (hence why they had Team Ninja make Rise of Ronin ridiculously easy, despite being marketed for Nioh fans).
Okay, but piracy on PC is a legitimate problem, right? Isn't this kinda like complaining about someone who got mugged complaining that they got mugged? Should people not complain if they get mugged?
@@imnotmikeSony doing this stuff is a legitimate problem. I see you defending them in the comment section but this stuff is only going to get worse unless people are vocal about how awful it is. Even then it’s unlikely theyll change it.

Piracy only makes companies start in with horrible ultra-restrictive DRM. If you don't want to pay the advertised price, then just don't buy it. Anything else is mental gymnastics to justify entitlement.
@@SimuLord You're right. We as consumers are entitled to not getting fucked over, and laws being broken with no recourse. Any counter argument is just mental gymnastics to justify bootlicking behavior.
@@Holykriger Heck of a thing to lick the boots of people I don't pay and don't even think are worth stealing from. Piracy merely contributes to the popular stereotype of gamers as entitled, spoiled children who are like shoplifters in big cities forcing retailers to put everything behind locks and making you get a floor worker to unlock the merchandise before you can buy it. It's good for nobody and hurts legitimate customers. If you're that mad at companies, find another form of entertainment. If you don't pay, you don't get to play. And if paying means "getting fucked over with no recourse", then that's just an even stronger argument for not playing! Stop justifying your lawlessness by saying it's the fault of the companies. You either buy the product or you don't. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
@@SimuLord Oh I don't pirate at all. I just support piracy. If buying games isn't owning games, then pirating them isn't stealing. Arguing that kernel level DRM, and anticheat(I know its not the point here, but its often used as an excuse) should be acceptable to prevent theft. Do you not realize that the comparison you're making, only works so far as when I then buy the thing, the antitheft lock gets removed. DRM does not get removed. Instead it literally sniffs around in your system, legitimate paying customer or not. Also one of the few ways to not get denuvo, is to pirate games, since it gets broken within a few days or weeks of release. If the only way I can actually own the game I bought, is to pirate it then thats the moral thing to do. Pay Sony for a copy, and then pirating a DRM free copy is not only morally okay, its legal in ALOT of european countries. Denmark as an example. If I buy a DVD I legally have every right to make as many copies of it as I want, for personal use. This is incase it gets scratched or otherwise broken. This is and I repeat. ENTIRELY LEGAL. Same goes for video games. If I buy a copy of a game, I then also have the right to download any version of that game. So if I want it without DRM I can do that. Stop justifying bullshit corporate behavior with flawed logic.
The greed in the industry is insatiable. FOMO has morphed into FOGRO: Fear of Getting Ripped Off, and a belt-tightening buying public aren’t taking it anymore. Remasters and remakes of old IP so they can jack up the price of the original game is a lowering of a bar that was already on the god damn ground.
I've seen comments about the Silent Hill 2 remake range from 'GOTY' to 'woke garbage.' I can see both points but they are irrelevant when the game costs $90 CAD!!!! For that I can buy at least three smaller games from GOG that will work on a Steam Deck OR I could, if I wanted to stay on Steam, pick up the RE4 remake with the 'Separate Ways' expansion and still save money!
They always take something that could be/has been a good idea, and absolutely brutalize it with abusive corporate tactics. Expansion packs adding a ton of content, expanding the world, extending the story? How about DLC for near the price of the base game that lasts four hours and was only released to fix the problems gamers had with the base game for a cost. Oh, unlockable extra's you get for completing extra tasks at higher difficulties like costumes and classic music in remakes? How about we cut those out and then turn them into microtransactions that release them alongside the game itself. A remake of an old game to bring it up to par with modern sensibilities, add some content, bring it to a modern audience in order to revive a franchise, etc? How about a reMASTER that allows higher resolutions, not optimize it, and release it for full price. Fucking apes, dude. Capitalism WILL NOT allow the proletariat to have anything unless it means manipulating their trust so you can fuck them later.
@@crazymcgee3604 I pirated it. It's actually fuckin' great, and completely faithful. My main "issue" is the superior voice acting which remove some of the strangeness that made the game special, but it's understandable and honestly a modder will most likely add them back in. I'm going to buy it afterwards because Blooper team deserves it. As an aside, don't let those losers convince you it's "woke". They're just algorithm baiting, and that sort of thing is entirely made up. Have you seen the "woke game" list? You'd never be able to play a good game again if you religiously followed it's interpretation.
@@todaysdesperadohatesavocad7109 Sometimes I think that the list is pandering too hard for it's own good (such as labelling the Dead Space remake 'woke' for the bathroom signs and nothing else). Gamers also have to consider this: if a company like SBI had some involvement with the game, but their additions or re-writes were taken out or not implemented, is the game still woke? It's a hard one for me to answer, much like the classic 'if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around does it make a sound?' Do I praise the company for not giving in to a DEI mandate or do I punish them for hiring a DEI consultant firm? It's a tough decision that gamers are going to have to figure out for themselves. As tragic as this is going to sound there will be collateral damage in our effort to get AAA gaming publishers / developers to get back to making games that we want to play - assuming that it's possible at all.
I own PC games "physically" on my hard drive. Except the live service ones. I OWN horizon. No DRM or account. Yes I buy games, but only games that either don't have DRM, or that can be download from a different website to store physically on my hard drives lol
I've been a PlayStation fan for 30 years. I'll never forget the magic I felt hearing that start up chime after booting up the original PlayStation when I was a kid. Sadly those days are long gone. There is no more heart and soul in their games, only the neverending thirst for the almighty dollar. They even charge you just to play online through their console. As it stands, I won't be buying the PlayStation 6. I will no longer be buying any consoles. I'll be upgrading my PC and enjoying a heavier wallet for it.
Ha! To upgrade your PC to the equivalent of a PS5, you are looking at... So to upgrade your PC to the equivalent of a $400 PS5, you're looking at about $1,139. But PC gamers never did seem to have much of a grasp of how money works, or apparently in this case weight, so enjoy your "heavier" wallet. And hey, you'll be able to still not buy Horizon Zero Dawn for the old price of $20, so that's one more problem you won't be able to solve by going to PC. But at least you'll have crippling back pain from sitting in an uncomfortable computer chair for 40 hours at a time to take your mind off of all the money you won't be saving by switching to PC.

I bet half the "cost" of a game is how much the CEOs and other top level executives give themselves.
The PS5 pro is $700 with a $200 pro controller is in no way cheaper than a PC. The thing that baffles me is how many terrible decisions sony makes. I think a lot of people in positions of responsibility regularly demonstrate just how arbitrary the selection process can be for upper-management/leadership positions. Heck, I think most people on this comments section, even those who know nothing about sportsball, could for example run the Cleveland Browns better than the people they have running them now, and the same's true for game companies.
I feel like every company with bad leadership does the same thing. A problem arises they shift the consequences to the customer. After a while some customers decide to stop being customers and so the company has the problem again so they repeat the same action. Then even less customers want the products so they cut the workers which degrades quality further which again results in less customers. And most companies go into debt thinking they can make the money back cuz they like being managers/bosses and get paid to boss other around so once they realize how deep into the hole they went its already too late to come back. Potentially ubisoft. And imho sony is going down a hole too. So many stupid greedy decisions and decisions that pretty much say they dont give a f about the players. I can almost guarantee you that if you look around and see other people who are far more successful than you making bad decisions constantly, and you're certain that they would be far more successful if they just listened to you, that you're a victim of the Dunning-Kruger effect. I look around and I see the X-Box brand swirling down the toilet and Nintendo having given up and moved on to exclusively mobile devices and not even making standard consoles anymore, and PlayStation emerging as the undisputed king of the console wars, and all I ever hear is how bad Sony has done.
@imnotmike yeah I'm aware of the dunning-kruger effect I just really don't think it's at play here. Incompetent is at play. Simple logical decisions. Xbox is not in a console war dude. Never have been never was. They have told countless interviews this before. They recently had Phil Spencer say they are not even focused on building a new console. They want to pivot to a steam like launcher. Nintendo has and always will be a best in terms of console exclusivity and R.O.I when it comes to the console itself. Would you like to know what the most popular console of all time is? Yup it's the Wii. Top 20 game series and around half are owned by Nintendo. So no sony has and is not emerging the "king". They have been loosing sales and customers for 3 years now. with consistent negative PR for the past year or two. Nintendo also is not making mobile console. Don't know where you get that notion. They make a console that can at the flick of a button be moved from the TV too a small gaming pad. That's not mobile that's incredibly intelligent since they are the number one console seller and almost always the console is in a family entertainment room from their studies and surveys.
The number of AAA publishers I'll buy from is already zero; even the number of indie devs I'll buy from before seeing a bunch of reviews/buzz/RUclipsrs I watch playing the game stands at just two (Pathea Games, makers of the My Time series, and SCS Software of Truck Simulator fame.) Though I understand why Sony would do this as they make very little from players like me. I guess I’m part of the issue as I buy almost all my games 2nd hand
This is one of the dangers of an all digital future, compounded by a walled garden economy. Very scary period in gaming and we as consumers need to wake up and hold these corporations to account.
Yup, Sony will continue to get away with everything they’re doing regardless if people don’t like it because they know people will move on. It reminds me of that comment in the Ghost of Yotei trailer. One commented “Okay Sony I forgive you” or something like that, and it got over 1k likes. Like wow, that’s all it took just one shiny new movie game to absolve all their anti-consumer business practices. The gaming community is now made of people with a short attention span and hypocrites.
A book publisher has a right to rewrite a book, cancel the old books printing, and replace old books in stores with new ones for another price. This is true for any other product and service too. Why can’t this be done by a game publisher?
The amount of leeway Sony / PlayStation ususally gets is insane in general. Sony Pony's are justifying just about anything they do with religious fervor. I had a discussion about this (Horizon) on the Steam forums and we had people unironically thanking Sony for integrating PSN into everything "So they could use their account"... PlayStation is a holy cow, few people dare to openly criticize it due to their zealots attacking everyone that does it.
I have no problem criticizing Sony when they deserve criticism. I'm a console gamer, and I've switched between consoles over the years between Atari, Sega, Nintendo, XBox, and Sony (and a couple others that didn't last long enough to be worth mentioning). I pick the console that I feel is best at the time, and at this moment that is unquestionably the PlayStation, and it's not close. This is a perfectly normal business decision that makes perfect logical sense, and will affect basically nobody. If you waited 7 years to buy this game, it's very unlikely you were actually planning on buying the game just because now is the time you finally decided to give it a try. The only reason to buy it is if you want the remaster, and you were hoping to buy the old game for $20, so you could get the $10 upgrade and get a new $50 game for $30. They would be negligent if they hadn't raised the price. They would have not sold a single copy of their new remaster if you could buy the old game and upgrade it for a fraction of the price. I don't do much PC gaming, so the PSN on Steam thing doesn't really affect me, but did you ever consider that maybe those people are saying that this makes things better for them because it actually makes things better for them and they like that? Like I said I'm a console gamer, so I don't know the ins and outs of integrating Steam and PSN. If I buy a game that's available on the PlayStation, I'd rather have it on PlayStation than on PC, so I'll never need a PSN account linked with my Steam account. But if people were saying that, it could be because there's something they actually like about it. After all, you're here complaining about this like Sony has done something indefensible, and this really is a complete nothing burger. This whole video is nothing but outrage porn.
@@imnotmike Case in point. Thanks for the demonstration. You're even opening your statement with "unquestionable" bias. "A perfectly normal business decision that affects basically no one" Strange, since very few publisher actually delist their original releases and replace them with more expensive versions that are blocked in way over a hundred countries. But if that seems normal to you...that would actually explain a lot. And no, i never considered that linking your PSN account to your Steam account could make things better...because it objectively doesn't. PSN is, for good reasons, seen as a liability due to how insecure the service is. It also comes with its own ToS, which in many parts comes into conflict with Steam's own ToS. And on the most surface level, it requires an additional log in and online verification step. You end your comment the way you started it: With "unquestionable" bias. Yes, price hiking by delisting old version is something indefensible, and every publisher who ever did it got criticized for it. Like Square delisting the base version of Dragon Quest XI to replace it with the "Definitive Edition" Switch port which downgraded its graphical fidelity significantly. You said yourself, multiple times, that none of this affects you, that you aren't even on the target platform and that you have a clear bias, yet you have the audacity to call criticism of people affected by it "outrage porn". You're utterly pathetic and the very thing people mean when they laugh about "Sony Pony's".
"You can love something and still criticize it." Yes. I love FromSoft but the crap they pulled with Dark Souls Remastered + delisting the original Prepare to Die Edition was BS, and people forgot about it. Mind you, they don't require making an account and linking it... This crap has GOT to stop. I've started boycotting Sony because of it.
Not getting away with it for myself, i have no interest in another version of what i already own on PC. Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition Still exists on PC.
keep the good commentary and the numbers will go up! Great analysis, the XBox vs Sony situation with the DRM is what we will be missing with the lack of competition. Nintendo doesn't count as they don't fight the same target audience.
After that shit they pulled with Helldivers 2, locking people out from the game just because we have no access to PSN, I've decided never to buy another Sony title. Pirating is the way to go for these folks, and the high seas community always delivers.
Polygon says the original PC version is "pulled", luckily it's still on GOG, for now. It doesn't have the PSN requirement but supposedly does have telemetry you can't fully opt-out of by normal means.
I wasn’t good enough as a customer with my PC for decades, and now I should buy completely spoiled games from 5 years ago for full AAA prices? My answer will always be that they can stuff those games up their…!
Probably unpopular opinion here but I don’t see a big issue here. If Sony wants to stop selling an older product and replace it with a new one that’s perfectly normal for a business to do. If people don’t like it then they should vote with their wallet (which I’ll be doing, my old copy of the game is perfectly fine). The price increase is justified to considering what’s going into the newer version. It’s annoying and a lot of people don’t like it, but that doesn’t make it a scam.
The bigger issue with digital media for me is the ability of studios, publishers, etc. to make any changes they want to the game, like adding DEI,, changing the look of characters, etc. On Steam the game would simply download the "update" and bam, your game is no longer what you purchased. Same with digitally bought movies, TV series, etc. This is why they are removing your ability to use physical media as quick as they can. Remember they actually went into the PS5 and removed Concord from the system. Think about that, they did it without even requiring you to confirm the operation. The totalitarian state is here, and they are going to determine what you see and hear. This is only going to get worse.
Ubisoft did the same thing to Ghost Recon Wildlands when they realized that Ghost Recon Breakpoint was failing immediately at launch. Wildlands went from a $35.00 USD game to a $55.00 game. It stayed that way too. They never dropped the price back because Breakpoint flopped so bad, gamers were buying wildlands as if it was a new game instead.
Shareholders FUCKING LOVE this shit. Sony basically gets to show the board that they developed a "remaster" that only cost 10% of the original game, but made 40% of it's total revenue
Sony blocking the ~200 regions from buying their games is the thing I'm mad about. Like it is simple for me to just decide not to buy the game, but Sony doesn't even give people in those regions a choice! That promotes the point hats! Also the remaster is going to have SOMETHING to piss me off!
HEY Mug, when is that slick 50k hair cut making its debut? On a serious note, thank you for your very balanced and direct analysis on top industry issues.
Just pirate their games. Why be forced to deal with Sony at all? I was a Sony user since PS1. Their censorship made me make the move to PC. Never going back now. Playing games at 120fps instead of 20-30 fps alone is worth it, then ALL the mods? And to see Sony has became even worse.. Yeah, they'll never see my money again.
People these days are throwing the word scam at anything, without knowing what scam is. Bruh nobody's forcing you to play or buy the game. I ain't buying the game but how is this a scam, they're literally telling you it's a remaster, so no one's getting deceived here 😂
A scam is a scam whether you buy it or not. Taking away access to effective medicine and replacing it with sugar pills is a scam. I don't have to buy it or be forced to for that to be true. It's very least extremely scummy and not something to be justified by the end user. Keeping it on steam is not some ultra expensive endeavor. They're just choosing for you what you can buy for no good reason other than more money for them.
having it replace the previous version of the game is actually better. This is because people who already bought it do not have to pay full price again if they want the remaster. This is better than the alternative, they could have made everyone pay full price regardless if they bought the original or not. On Steam (I already bought the original not remaster yet) it shows up as it did before but now only offers it bundled with the remaster. So essentially is is buying a game with a bundled DLC. I can buy this bundle for $10 as already have the base game. The game is only unlisted as it does not sell the base game(original) by itself anymore and only sells it as the bundle with the remaster. Hope this helps people who were confused. However, they should still have offered both options if people really wanted the non-remastered version, they could just get that. The PSN requirement is stupid though. I have a PSN, so it's no big deal for me but not everyone does or can get one.
First PSN required for single player games, now this BS.... It's almost like they want people to pirate their games... Make games DRM free, slash the requirements for PSN and I might buy games from them again.
I know people resist it because of the whole woke aspect but taking that all out of the equation and focusing on visuals alone...it looks so bad. Oh my god what is that face she looks like that bad plastic surgery result thing going around awhile back. Just pure uncanny valley.
They're bringing concord back, so it might actually be concord server tax. How else are they going to keep them running? Also Sony doesn't care about BB, all the tears in the world won't change their mind
Bloodborne isn’t a “cinematic game”. They don’t care. They barely cared with Demon’s Souls remake since they ruined the art direction and music and didn’t fix what people wanted to be fixed.
Calling companies out: yes. Judging them: no. Companies will be companies, blaming them for something won't change a single thing and is a waste of time if people still buy it.
Horizon always exuded that "Yeah, I'll pick it up on a sale or something" energy. Now that I know it will just be remastered to $50 every three years, I really don't need to play it. Playstation games need to get reviewed to oblivion for the foreseeable future to teach them a lesson. Complacency is going to be the biggest reason consoles and games are about to shoot up in price and no one is excited about it. I really hope we as a people come together over our hatred of this practice and get rid of it. It's almost like America was founded on this behavior or something. A shame really.
@@HyJyncks Then why are you crying about it when the price went up? Don't you also have better things to do than sit and complain about a game you were obviously never going to buy? I have 34 people on my friends profile who have pre-ordered this, and I don't do a ton of online gaming. I'll probably pre-order it too. I don't know how much it needed a remaster, but it's a great game, and it's not expensive. If you'd wanted to play it, I bought the complete edition for $7 a few years back. It's not their fault you waited too long to buy it. Any time you pass up a good deal on any product, you run the risk of the price going up in the future. That's the cost of not buying things when they are cheap. Of course they're not going to sell it for $20 now. People could buy it for $20, upgrade it for $10, and cheat their way to getting a $50 game for $30 on release day. If they forgot to raise the price on it, somebody would have to get fired for that blunder.
I can understand wanting to wait for a sell. Fair enough. People don't have money like that. However if you're trying to imply that Horizon wasn't worth full price then sir i respectfully disagree. Horizon is an amazing game. An amazing series.
Not to defend Sony, the signs is still there that we are going in that direction. What I want to point out though is that have they really delisted the original completely from Steam if you actually look at it? Yes, they have replaced the store page for the original for the remaster. But when looking at the product page of the remaster you can only buy the remaster as a bundle with the original complete edition. It's still the same €49,99 as before but now you get both versions for €39 (original) + €10 (upgrade). The result of this is that bundle will most likely not get discounted as hard as the complete edition has been the latest sales, if you have been waiting for the 75-90% summer/holiday sale. But the original version is still very purchaseable even now. At least in a PSN region, not sure of the status outside of that
I feel dumb having a book with all my accounts and passwords. You cant trust digital accountmanagement as well as digital storage because that might break and frankly im just tired of all these accounts. Having to register for anything and everything nowadays is just a pain and should be canceled everywhere its possible and unnecessary.
@hsnowman1316 it's more the ideology behind dei they are referring to. If you compare original alloy to the alloy in the second game, they kind of "uglified" her. There's been a few memes about it too. My favorite is the side by side with nikicado avacado. Looks pretty darn close 😅
This is why I’d tell people to spend more money and get consoles with disc drives. Physical games will depreciate in price as interest in it dies down, it is not tied to what the publisher thinks it’s value is but what it’s value is to real people. At stores like CEX I can buy horizon zero dawn on disc for £10, instead of the digital £50. Pc is a sticky one though, because all games are digital. For example if I want to play some old cod games on pc, they still sell at full price from 10+ years ago but discs on consoles cost only £1-5. Unless you pirate, how easy or difficult that is idk. But if buying isn’t owning then piracy isn’t stealing.
It's called the Concord tax.
Nah, they would do this anyway, concord might increase the amount of games that will get same treatment
I came here to make this comment! Lol

Well just to clarify,
Just buy any game on the PSN at least here in Germany they will tell you, you have 14 days for a refund, unless you download it.
That was written when I bought space marine 2 on the PSN for my PS5.
They used more words, but that's the context that's written in the TOS. If that really holds up in court is a different matter, but we all know you don't go to court for 80 euro.

Delisting original games to only sell remasters is some 1984 level BS. "There is no past, only an ever-evolving present."
Exactly
No it’s not. Any company can stop selling a product/service, update it and resell the new version for a new price. Game publishers are the same. This is totally acceptable.
Stop torturing George Orwell. The poor man died a year after his book made a fortune, he's gone through enough without you turning the poor man's legacy into a joke because the price temporarily increased on a game you were never going to buy.
Rockstar did it and received zero real backlash, people still bough the trash "remasters" and people are going to buy up GTA 6. So, of course Playstation is going to follow
1984 also got removed from internet archive recently
5 year old games already gets a remaster. They have so much good ps2 era games that they could "remake", but nope. Put a graphic update on "new" games and sell it again for basically doing nothing. Not gonna bother with playstations stuff anymore. I have the original Horizon on steam...and that will be the last playstation game for me.
PS2 era didn't have enough of the message.
I would love to get a Killzone collection or a Resistance collection, but no, they are in Playstation's dustbin as they are too old.

So what you're saying is that.... Piracy of sony games is now completely justified?
Piracy only makes companies start in with horrible ultra-restrictive DRM.

@@todaysdesperadohatesavocad7109 Sometimes I think that the list is pandering too hard for it's own good (such as labelling the Dead Space remake 'woke' for the bathroom signs and nothing else).

Well, people don't want physical anymore. It's "outdated", it's "ineffective", it's "useless". Well, y'all reap what ya sow.
Physical doesn’t solve all of these problems. There are many physical games that won’t function without an update or a connection to the server. Not dissimilar to what Rockstar pulled on Steam when the GTA remasters released and they delisted all the original ports in favor of the remasters.
There’s always a precedent for these things somewhere.
Let's list just a few Sony Ls:
Burns $100+ million on a generic bland hero shooter, removes disc drives and stands from $700 product, inserts psn where it shouldn’t, psn shutdowns, inserts ads on their console homepage, stellar blade controversy, complete inability and indifference to prevent scalpers of 30th anniversary edition, cancel games of beloved IPs, closing studios, abandoning the psvr2, raises prices of hardware and controllers, leaks content of final shape before release, raises price of subscription just for the privilege to play multiplayer, removes games from multiple regions, remasters unnecessary games, raises prices of said remaster game, delists original from steam to force psn on remaster, remasters Until Dawn that runs at 30fps when the original rus at 60fps on the ps5, ignores and holds Bloodborne hostage etc.
That's just this year!
EA, Activision, Ubisoft, and Sony are like sports franchises with terrible owners who blame the coaches and the players for why the team hasn't made the playoffs since they bought it. Fans have no hope, no expectation that things will get better, but they keep going to the stadium and paying for parking and overpriced beer and hot dogs even though the team stinks and they go home feeling like they wasted a day after watching a 30-3 loss.
At some point you really have to start asking yourself why you spend your free time doing something that doesn't bring you joy. It's not good for you.

I'm done with Playstation. Also I think games DON'T have to cost hundreds of millions of dollars to make in order to be compelling pieces of media. This idea that they need to sell full priced copies of games in millions to break even is a HUGE red flag, and something we need to stop accepting. I bet half the "cost" of a game is how much the CEOs and other top level executives give themselves.
The PS5 pro is $700 with a $200 pro controller is in no way cheaper than a PC. And most commonplace tvs run about 24-30 FPS, meaning people will likely need to replace their tv with a much more expensive model. (The most expensive is $150 a year, which is insane)

You’re naive to think any company is loyal to their user / player bases. The bottom line is always about maximising profits.
The thing that baffles me is how many terrible decisions sony makes. Every single decision over the past year or two has made people dislike them more, AND they loose R.O.I and investors. its insane to think me, a random guy with a small amount of business knowledge can make better decisions for a company. Someone is a absolute moron and has no idea what they are doing and they influence a multi hundred million dollar companies decisions. It puts faith in myself.
I think the quality of strategic thinking at the top of these corporations has severely decreased, unfortunately their greed hasn't decreased as well
I think a lot of people in positions of responsibility regularly demonstrate just how arbitrary the selection process can be for upper-management/leadership positions.

Why is this worse than Nintendo simply never dropping the prices of any of their games?
Sony's just trying to be like Nintendo

Strange, since very few publisher actually delist their original releases and replace them with more expensive versions that are blocked in way over a hundred countries.

Polygon says the original PC version is "pulled", luckily it's still on GOG, for now. It doesn't have the PSN requirement but supposedly does have telemetry you can't fully opt-out of by normal means.
One of his main points is the pricing which as i can see is full $50 on GOG when Steam had it for $10 + $10 now for an upgrade if you want.
You are forgetting one important thing . Especially Sony.. We , the people, don't have to play video games at all. We can do other things....

Think about that, they did it without even requiring you to confirm the operation.

having it replace the previous version of the game is actually better.

Of course they're not going to sell it for $20 now. People could buy it for $20, upgrade it for $10, and cheat their way to getting a $50 game for $30 on release day. If they forgot to raise the price on it, somebody would have to get fired for that blunder.
@@imnotmike Sony won't have sex with you my guy. Chill.
At least in a PSN region, not sure of the status outside of that
why would anyone buy this boring game
Alloy simps
I feel dumb having a book with all my accounts and passwords. You cant trust digital accountmanagement as well as digital storage because that might break and frankly im just tired of all these accounts. Having to register for anything and everything nowadays is just a pain and should be canceled everywhere its possible and unnecessary.
i wont upgrade to ugly DEI Aloy .
how is aloy dei😂

Support game stores like gog, where its digital goods are similar to physical copies, but in digital form.
