Thanks Rudolph! I agree. I have this 1920 oval hole as well as roundhole similar to what Alex is playing here. They’re quite different from each other, but both lovely and underrated instruments. The oval hole might be the guitar I’ve put the most hours into. Cool to hear from another fan of the L4! I haven’t played an f hole L4 though, I’m curious how those hold up
@@rudolphpyatt4833 the L Jr was my first exposure to the round holes and initiated my quest after I borrowed one for an out of town gig! I still haven’t got an L Jr , would like to someday. Tho I do have an L 1 which is kinda similar and I love it
@@Rikmacmusic I think the non adjustable banjo style bridge gives the Jr. a little extra snap. I played it back to back with an L1 and an L3 of similar vintage, and the Jr. just had a bit more pop on the trebles. Mind you, the same shop has an L75 that I am scheming to buy. That said, I just bought a G-200 last week. Now I’m wondering what it would be like as a round hole archtop.
Amazing!! Those duo songs are some of my favorites. I was pleased to meet Alex in New Orleans two weeks ago. :)
Joshua P sent me this link - loving it.
Love it! ❤️
Thanks Wendy!
Awesome! 👏👏👍
Wonderful! And I will say again: As great as the L-5 is, the L-4 is an amazing instrument.

@@Rikmacmusic I have an f-hole L50, a 1960; and a round hole L Jr. from 1925. Both are a joy to play.

The wind chimes (?) give me a weird feeling of vertigo. But great sound!
