They really came out of the gate with murder and genocide! I couldn't believe it, it's such a powerful beginning, and the show just keeps getting better, digging in deeper to stories that we already know. I love it!
I'm hoping the ratings are good enough that we get the whole story. I need to see it. I was happy overall. They do need to fix some things with makeup/costumes.
OMG I WAS WAITING FOR YOUR REACTION!!!! I already finished the series, it satisfied my little girl inside, reminded me of how I used to watch the og series when I was younger. Yes sometimes the acting and the cgi are mid and sometimes feels a little bit rushed, but they had to adapt a loong show into 8 episodes, so makes sense. Personally I think they did quite good, I LOVED this first season, can't wait for season 2, I need it already! Hope you guys like it as much!
Not to sound like a psycho but i like that they show the burned bodies to tell the truth who really gets burned besides zuko aang katara and song... I cant think of anyone oh yeah toph when her feet got burned so to see this is a nice touch

I also watched the show as it aired, when I was already in my early 20s. I went in really gun shy, but the first two episodes hit enough notes to keep me going and I'm really REALLY glad I did. It is PURE, 24k gold from episode 3 on until the end and it only gets better.

I'm only just starting your video, but two things to know: You need to change your TV settings, if the effects look weird to you or it looks too dark, once I did that on my TV the show is gorgeous. The other thing to know is to have your subtitles on, because there is a wonderful bonus of almost inaudible dialogue, that if you have the subtitles on and you suddenly see on the screen a bunch of references to plot points in the cartoons, that aren't in the show, but that they're giving to us this way is a little tip of the hat of love to the fans who love the source material. We never actually see the attack. We do see the temples on fire but thats about it. No people being hurt. The way fire ignited walking into that air tunnel was hard!!! Sokka is less sexist in this.There was noone else for him to leave in charge after he left the villiage so that different too. I dont think Zuko had a notebook and all these little trinkets. This shows alot of research going into his journey. Sokka with the wolf club. Yeah Appa didnt fly yet until Aang is on Zukos ship. No bullshit when GranGran was doing intro I was saying it with yall at the same time. I did want Sokka with the war face paint tho.
This show is very different from the cartoon. But unlike a lot of people online, I don't think that fact alone makes it bad. Overall I liked this adaptation.
@@90sprinceofcrime67 the depiction of war and death is a mature subject. this isn't the cartoon that you grew with. this adaption seems to have grown up along with the audience it was first aimed toward.
@shirgo5700 we already knew people died, just off the fact that Aang is the last airbender. We literally see Gyatsu's body in the cartoon, Im obviously not denying that the cartoon was for kids but all the themes you say are in the live action are already in the kid cartoon, we didn't need to see anybody set on fire or hear people curse to get that. That's what made it so good despite being for kids and why i can still rewatch it today. The live action wasn't bad but it's not touching the animated show, atleast not book 1

If you paid attention, i only said what i said because the og comment said that they liked this version because it was "more for an older audience" im also not saying that the series needed to be a 1 to 1. What i am saying is a lot of people are giving it credit for being more adult, as if the original series didn't show the cruelty of the war.
I really liked the series but I thought the first episode was the weakest of all of them, I also thought some of the acting wasn't hIting but Sokka, Zuko, Azula and Ozai are perfect. Overall I have some complaints but they did great and I hope they get more seasons to finish the story.
I’ve only watched the first episode but overall I thought it was pretty good. My issues were: Where is the boomerang? Where was Sokka’s awesome face paint for battle? Where is Momo? And I can’t stand Gran Gran for some reason. 😂 But mostly I agreed with you guys.
