What an odd choice of vehicle for a retired older couple. I love it though! You can’t beat that 7.3 man. Only 100k miles on it too, pretty much fresh off the lot 😂
I use your youtube videos as my white noise to help me sleep at night. also I am autistic. i like trucks , SUV's, and Airbus A321 aircraft as a hobby. i also like Yamaha stereo equipment. i hope you have a great weekend.
Dude I wish we had cars like this in Germany! It would be to wide for a lot of country roads and every parking space in the country, but I just love them!
@@bidartbauer8581 they don't break down as frequently as a Mercedes or a BMW does I can tell you that. In fact, breaking down won't be much of a worry for you since you would rarely even get to take the Mercedes out from the workshop. Cheers.
Idk man the suv is iconic no doubt but I think the worst part is how tough they ride. I own a 2000 v10 4x4 Excursion and I love everything about it except the way that it handles like an absolute bus that it is. Otherwise though they are the coolest vehicle made imo. I wish mine had the 7.3, just picked up a steal of a deal 99 super duty with the 7.3 and your absolutely dead on with the automatic love there is for the sound. V10 has enough power but nothing like a 7.3 that’s for sure.
You should replace all the suspension. Even my Dad’s 1 ton SuperDuty doesn’t really ride that bad with a solid front axle. Rebuild the suspension, get some good tires. More rubber usually equates to a better ride as well.
My 01 handled pretty good actually....not a sports car but definitely can keep up momentum in corners....and very easy to park and drive once you get used to it.
Looking for my first 7.3 Excursion. I fully intend to do the 2016 F250 Super Duty conversion inside and out. I want to bring that bad boy as up to date as I can and they are sick with the F250 Super Duty front end and interior.
Garage kept? Seriously? In what, a hanger? LOL. Honestly, though, it's my dream rig right there, right down to the color and drive train (wouldn't mind the 6.0L, but would bulletproof it for reliability). It's no wonder these things are becoming popular again. Have you seen what a new Suburban costs?
That's a vacation vehicle, there. I have an '04 F-150 with 115K and it's a garage queen/vacation truck as well. Just as nice as the one in this video. Looks new inside out and nothing have ever gone wrong with it. Regular maintenance and the oil always looks like honey. I think I could sell it for 20K, but I'm keeping it because the cost to replace it would be nearly three times as much.
The V10 is bulletproof. It’s a Modular just like the 5.4 and 4.6. As for the trans, a trans cooler, trans temp gauge, regular fluid changes on time, and common sense will make them last forever. That goes for nearly any automatic.
Yeah I can believe that there’s still a lot of people out there that are dying to have a vehicle like this they just have to be smart and not over inventory them but I’m convinced enough people will buy them.
I also have a 2000 4wd but a V10. 123k miles. I DID NOT WANT LEATHER. The leather doesn't hold together and the woodgrain looks stupid and cheap. Loaded XLT is the way to go.
@@RodknockRhett maybe but I remember the Eddie Bauer had that tan color paint on the lower part of the truck my parents owned a Expedition Eddie Bauer and hers was light green and then tan on the lower half of the truck or it could be a limited model
I don't think you will ever get 20 out of it unless, you do some work on it. My '01 Excursion gets about 14 or 15 on the highway with not a huge load and not towing anything. I have put over 225,000 miles on mine since I bought it. Great vehicle!!!
I've heard that a truck in this kind of condition will sell for near 40 thousand dollars! Funny how most of these ended up in the ghetto's once they started falling apart. Seriously...the only ones I've seen in the last 10 years are ghetto mobiles spewing black smoke with body panels hanging off...rollin' on 22s! This one is in exceptional shape for its age, but once it gets more exposure to the elements and is much more frequently driven it'll start to fall apart quick. That's not a dig on Ford, as Chevy and Ram had quality issues at that time as well...They didn't build them to last, really. Fine if they're babied...but short lived if not.
2:10 always loved the starter sound along with that little throaty roar upon startup
I had the same truck in dark blue. Was beautiful. I was the 2nd owner. Sold it with 250000 miles. Was an amazing experience

if they made a new excursion with a 6.7, they could name their price and would sell everyone they made.
They could list them at 100 grand and ppl would still buy them
There is actually a place in Oklahoma that you can take them a F- Series pickup and they will make an Excursion out of it.
