You didn't have to master ball it. I have come up with a way to make an infinite battle with beldum, this works for most pokemon in general actually but especially beldum.
Required pokemon:
[1]
Pokemon: Smeargle
Ability: Own Tempo
Item: Leftovers
Build: Defense, HP
Moves: Spore, Rain Dance, Trick, Skill Swap (optional)
[2]
Pokemon: Drifblim
Ability: Unburden
Item: Leftovers
Build: Defense, HP
Moves: Hypnosis, Pain Split, Protect, Defog (optional)
Smeargle is sent out VS Shiny Beldum
Turn 1) Smeargle uses spore
Turn 2) Smeargle uses rain dance (get rid of sand since it slows things down + doesn't let drifblim heal)
Turn 3) Skill swap / Trick / Spore
Turn 4) Skill swap / Trick / Spore
Turn 5) Switch to driflbim as Beldum should be asleep holding leftovers and no longer have its natural ability.
Turn 6) Drifblim can defog lowering its evasion (You can also X accuracy but I prefer defog since it allows switching)
Turn 7) When necessary hypnosis to put it back to sleep. After a few defogs it never misses.
Turn 8) Throw balls, over and over and over until caught. (You actually want it to struggle because this will lower its HP increasing odds to catch it. You can run spite to speed this up)
Turn 9) If it gets too low you can painsplit, this will heal it to full. Then use hypnosis. Protect stalls a turn letting both you and beldum heal, this minimizes turns used to have to manually heal drifblim.
If you get low on PP use leppa berrys on yourself, you can farm these pretty easily over a few days, just 25 leppa berries will give you hundreds more attempts at catching beldum. Hope this helps anyone that wants a specific pokeball on a pokemon. Wigglytuff and Swalot also get painsplit + sleep inducing moves, have high HP (not as high as drifblim) Wigglytuff also levels up twice as fast as swalot and driflbim and has base 140 HP so worth considering. You can also run Leppa berry wigglytuff + recycle + Wish + Sing + Painsplit to be entirely self sufficient outside of x accuracy

The domiNATION next hunt shiny chansey with chaining it took me 7 hours to hunt it

Tiny bit late, but ive started trying to do the pokeradar, got a chain for abra and said sure why not. On chain 6, I noticed a path of grass that kept snining longer than normal shiny grass. Shiny abra, chain 6, rash nature, and its male. I love him and his name is Merlin.

Congrats man! How do you check ivs? I have never really looked into it, but I am interested now!
I'm not sure how you check ivs in gen 4 but it's personality trait gives you a hint. You can Google that. I usually just transfer my pokemon to gen 7 and use the iv checker that has
bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Stats_judge
...or find a way to export your save file and open it in a program like PKHeX to check (and modify, if you want) your Pokémon's IVs.
Or you can simply use an online IV calculator like psypokes or metalkid's. Just input the pokemon name, nature, personality trait, and stats and then it'll tell you the range. Higher the level, the smaller the range.
I tried catching a regular Beldum earlier. Had it on a miniscule amount of health and it broke out without even struggling. Bloody hell.
i got a Shiny at Chain 15 and it was Budew
then i got a Full Odds Find in a None Shiny Grass Patch
Riolu in rio (Main) not full odds 1/6000
Kaiju Monsterx no, non shiny grass is still 1:8192
Guys im new to poke radar hunting but my chain sometimes just randomly breaks and I dot know why - pls help. Im practicing on shinx right now and im following the rules, but randomly when i run around in the grass and use the radar to find the correct patch, my chain suddenly breaks... Anybody know why?
The chain has a chance to break any time. If you go to tiles that are 4 spaces away from you and faint the pokemon you find, it will have a 12% chance of breaking next time. If you go 4 spaces away and catch the pokemon you find, it'll have a 2% chance of breaking the next time. Repeat balls work best to keep the chain going and if you "break the chain" but find the same pokemon the chain will keep going so hunting for a pokemon that has a high chance of appearing randomly will help with this too. Starly/bidoof/shinx are good pokemon to practice poke radar chaining. Hope this helps! Good luck!

If it breaks while you are running it's most likely because you ran too far. It happens to me often if all the patches shake on the bottom and I forget.

I prefer to hatch a shiny, although tedious, it's definitely worth it.
-I get to choose its learnset
-No dreadful feeling if it escapes
-I can choose its nature with a ditto and an everstone
-A play of luck but I have a pretty much MAX IV Adamant Ditto
-So if I take the pokemon with better IV that came out the egg and breed it with the ditto, I can sooner or later get a max IV, Adamant (50% chance for gen IV) beldum
I mean I hatch for shinies too. But it's nice to change it up. Also I got everything I needed from this beldum

The pokeradar definitely isn't as similar to X and Y's pokeradar in that you are more likely to get a shiny patch before a chain of 40. I've only gotten 2 of the 9 pokemon I caught in a week at a 40 chain. Everything else was from a chain of 31 to as low as 1!
I believe that the only difference is that more patches of grass are affected at once which would technically raise the change of a shiny patch. Other than that the individual patches on their own are the same odds as gen 4

howd u get ur smeargle to learn those moves? i cant seem to teach mine any of them
Smeargle has a move called sketch. The way it works is when a pokemon uses a move and then you use sketch on that pokemon, smeargle will permanently learn that move. You can swap out moves with a move tutor to relearn sketch but smeargle learns it every 10 levels if you don't already have the move. So what I do, is enter a double battle with the versus seaker and use a pokemon with the move I want on smeargle and make sure the pokemon is faster than smeargle. Use the move I want then just use sketch on my own pokemon. I hope this makes sense and it helps you out!

I'm always having trouble with Radar Hunting in here because that stupid sandstorm makes seeing the interacting patches not really clear. Till the day of today the only swarm in DPPt I don't have as a shiny

How you change your ds time clock mine ain’t workin
You do it in the 3ds or 3ds settings. You do not do it in game. Also be sure to set it at 11:59 pm because the time needs to change to the next day on its own and not just be set to the next day

What website did you use to calculate the Shiny odds? Just got a Shiny Phanpy on a chain of 21 and was really curious haha.

I hated my friend so much when i was little. He tricked me into beleiving my shiny charmander was normal and his normal was shiny and offered to trade. Once i found put he had already traded it off in wondertrade once gen 6 came out.

If you catch the pokemon instead of fainting them you'll have a higher chance of keeping chain. There's always a random chance it breaks though even if you do everything perfectly!

I tried to catch a shiny shinx as a pokeradar train. I got a 170 sequence and i gave up. Too much time wasted ahahaha. I really want a shiny beldum
You only need to go to a chain of 40. That gives you the highest odds. After that keep using the radar but don't encounter a pokemon until you see a shiny patch

Yes I was not counting the shiny encounter as I was currently on a chain of 11 when the patch showed up.
@@ThedomiNATION Oh, I haven't done much shiny hunting in sinnoh in a long time, so I thought the shiny might have counted as part of the chain, but I did just beat Cynthia earlier (I've been replaying platinum) and I plan on trying to get shiny's, I'll also try playing through emerald as well since I have a DS Lite and a copy of emerald.

Bro wth, i just went to valley windworks, for an electrike swarm... and i koed one, no radar, then used the radar and got a shiny. Then proceeded to catch it with the first ultra ball, with no health or status

A chain of 5 isn't full odds but is still extremely rare. Is about a 1/6,554 chance of getting you a shiny patch!

It's a process called poke radar chaining. I can't explain it in too much detail via comment so watch a tutorial video if you want to know how to do it it's quite confusing at first

The domiNATION next time for gen 7 or 6 go the harvest method get a eggacute with harvest and the moves bestow and skill swap make sure it holds a leppa berry then have fun infinite shiny chain now there’s also a ghost type that has a harvest ability for it as well makes life easy

It has the ability synchronize which if put in the front of the party, gives every wild pokemon you encounter a 50% chance to have the same nature. In sword and shield, they changed it to make every pokemon guaranteed the same nature

Why dont use heavy ball on beldum?? Beldum weight was equivalent of 6 larvitars
You can't get a heavy ball in platinum version. It's not coded in the game. So even if you caught a pokemon with a heavy ball on hgss, it would show the pokemon was caught in a regular Pokeball in platinum version

I keep them. You really can't expect a good nature on them anyway. There's only a very few amount of shinies I have that I actually use
You can simply have a fainted pokemon with synchronize at the front of your party with the nature you want of the poke you're hunting. 50% chance of wild pokemon having the same nature. Pretty simple really. It's iv's that are what makes or breaks a viable competitive shiny.

Because you want physical attacking moves on metagross and it has access to strong physical moves, making special attack pointless

Found a random shiny beldum before I got to chain it
what route is this on
+Jason Green it's on route 228. Beldum is a swarm pokemon meaning you have to talk to Dawn's sister in sandgem town each day and she will tell you what pokemon are available. If you set your ds clock to 11:59 pm and wait in game for midnight, it will cycle to the next swarm pokemon. Do this until Dawn's sister tells you that there's beldum on route 228

I can’t find beldum in the grass
You can only get beldum during a swarm. Talk to dawn's or lucas's sister in sandgem town and she'll tell you what the swarm is. If it's not beldum, set your clock to 11:59pm then when it turns 12:00am go back into the house and talk to her again. Just keep doing this until she says there's a bunch of Beldum on route 228

No you can get as many as you can during the swarms. The swarms change daily and whatever swarm you get for the day (in this case beldum) beldum just appear 40% of the time until the clock hits midnight (but you can always keep changing your clock back to keep the beldum indefinitely)

I freaking despise this Shiney hunting method, I've chained 39 to 100 and never seen a SINGLE freaking Shiney patch, This game hates me, I can't tell if the damn grass Shakes with a shine or not it's to damn short....
You're problem is you only need to get to a chain of 40 then start avoiding the shaking grass until you find a shiny patch. Also the shiny patch lasts longer and is the most noticeable

All you have to do is get to a chain of forty then just keep using the radar until the shiny patch shows up. It took me hours to get a smeargle at 40 chain it's just random chance. Keep at it and you'll get it soon!

What is the probability of finding a shiny pokémon with pokeradar?
It depends on how far into the chain you are. If you get to a chain of 40, each patch has a 1/200 chance of being shiny. However in this video, I got a chain of 11 for a shiny patch which is less than a 1/5000 chance of happening

Typically you need to get to a 40 chain to have the best chance at getting the shiny. I just got extremely lucky with this one
