I cannot agree with you more about alcohol being a poison! I had to say goodbye to my mother, on, of all days last year, Mother’s Day! All because she started drinking when she was something like 13 years old and with few exceptions, never quit. It literally killed her. I am now motherless, because she chose it, became addicted, and finally chemically dependent. I hate alcohol with all my being.
My word is consequences. If God didn't hold us accountable and give consequences it would cheapen his very being. Somehow some of us, we think this is not fair...to harsh. But when humans who undervalue their own worth and let's others walk all over them, either in just being used or even abused...we see the injustice of it. Yet we expect our creator to be used, devalued, apathetic? Bring on the consequences! Through them may we LEARN and teach others.
They were still in their tunics! The tunics were not burned. The Lord is a consuming fire. Sin cannot exist in the presence of God. They were "consumed " but their bodies were not burned.
