- The Kia Proceed has changed and Kia has stuck with the concept sketches. The new Proceed brings a very clever boot mixed with an interesting engine, here's a full review of what you get for the money in this Irish car review.
Sorry about the sound for the driving my mic let me down and I've no way to fix it.

A car of 2 halves.... shame you couldn't have made half of the video with a jacket that read "The South Face" :-(
Best comment ever!
Knobs and proper keys, can’t beat them! Very comprehensive review as usual 👍
Go basic because it works
I know I like my knob...
Looks like a miniature Porsche Panamara in the back... very neat!
Love your videos bob usually lovely irish charm and wit thanks very much keep up the good 👍 work kev from Liverpool
Great video Bob! I quite like the styling of that car! (never knew that variant existed)
Nice review 👍🏼Kia 👌🏼on a roll.
Buying one based on this review! Cheers
It's so beautiful!
Good video😍 ❤KIA❤
It does remind me of a panamera's rear end. Nice review by the way :)
That was I was thinking when I saw it haha
How shitty will you feel when you stop at the lights and a panamera pulls up next to you haha
It's like driving the evoque and then the velar pulls up, or the sport, or the Vogue haha
Love the trousers Bob
H&M I think, or maybe Penneys 😂
Bob Flavin skin colour thought he was naked for a minute 🤪
You wish!
@bob have you maybe had a chance to drive the automatic version of the Proceed? I'm wondering if it can compete with VW's DSG or if they are still behind.
Bob if ud to pick between skoda and kia who would u go for
Hi bob great review.
Looking at this or the 1.5
Honda Civic.
Which would have more room in the back for passengers.
Looks nice on the outside, a lot better than the original bleah ceed.
Bob your hand cam is awesome
Do you need a detox or counselling. Bit nervous
Good reviews by Bob - beats watching to Mat Watson's reviews - 140bhp not bad - pity though Ireland doesn't get the 1.6 T-GDi 204bhp some countries have.
Excellent review Bob! Looks like a fantastic and very cool car! Kia has this habit of butchering finance options however by only offering 2 year deals in some cases which makes the payments ridiculous for those 2 years. Not really ideal for some people.
Is there a drive modes button for sport, normal and eco for example?
If the chassis is as tight as you trousers it's well made
Why oh why hasn't Bob got a million subs? Deserves to have..
I ask myself that every day, I don't answer myself though!
Because he never show the engine the life of the car.
@@Trevorodunne It's a big lump of plastic with Kia written on it
@@BobFlavinVideo Yes I know but had to go to this youtube video to see it ruclips.net/video/oWYhzMdWDCQ/видео.html
Hopefully you guys get the new version of the Sonata for 2020 over there.. that’s supposed to be a hell of a car!
great as usual.... i love your reviews straight faced, but almost a pisstake... lol
Has Ireland started using digital radio yet?
I want to buy a kia now. I normally hate estate cars but I still need a fairly practical car.
Great car. Have just ordered one. A GT though. 😀
hope you enjoy it :)
@@CarsofGlasgow Thanks, so do I. Have to wait till May/June.
@@karstenolesen3776 Oh will be worth the wait! What do you drive currently!
@@CarsofGlasgow I have a Nissan Qashqai today so this will be something completly different. Here in Sweden the list price for the 1.6 DCT GT is under 28K EUR so I could not resist that 😊
@@karstenolesen3776 That is a good price! Hope you enjoy the remainder of your Nissan :)
Top job Bob :)
Thanks Kevin!
that's indeed a very big booth
Looked better in the TV add
Ah that marketing vibe is good in the adverts!
So no more 3 door hatches from Kia?
I've seen other two reviews on this car and haven't noticed the annoying noise!
Put the neo ev drivetrain in it kia. Nobody makes a ev estate/shooting brake yet we have enough crossovers.
My thinking exactly, I'd say that clever boot has room for a chunk of batteries
How to run
@@paulbrowne6087 yea the pack from the Kona would likey fit in between the axels just fine with a small suspension lift. Any space behind the axle would be useless for batteries as you would have to split the back in two for just a few kWh which would be expensive.
You could pack the charger under the boot though.
A nice motor indeed, shame Kia are restricting their range of choices, with only a single petrol version available. With the new Ceed SW diesel now listing at €28k (Up €3k on the previous model), I would feel a little sore knowing this sweeter looking model only costs €1k more. I'd pay even more for a diesel version, but maybe Kia Ireland have swallowed the PR nightmare that is dirty diesel. They have even removed the Optima SW from their pricelist, so more restricted options, they have a plug in hybrid option in the UK. My Ceed SW will be 3 years old next year, so time will tell if it will be another Kia that takes it's place.
A very very good looking car - but it did sound very noisy in that cabin.
in Germany you also get a slightly bigger 1.6 liter engine
i know it`s a pain in the posterior (no swearing on classy channels) bobby boy, BUT and it`s a BIG BUTT, NO, were not talking about the merc............... people DO like to see inside the boot of a car with the rear seats folded down............but that interior with a PROPER key AND proper dials (remember, no swearing on CLASSY Channels) i was going to say KNO*S , but i didnt.............isnt that grand to see, instead of all these nice "looking" screen`s which are DANGEROUS to use.........great video mate, as ALWAYS..........
Has Henry Fords great grandson become an interior designer for kia, you can have any colour of interior as long as it's black.
Maith an buichaill Bob
Whack in the I30N engine and it’d be perfect
For Kia it would be a terrible idea. Kia and Hyundai are going to be paying large fines for not meeting average co2 limit of 95 grams of co2 per km in 2020. They can't start selling large numbers of thirsty cars.
Kia/Hyundai are really doing great things nowadays
They are but all to often I'm seeing both manufacturers cars with faulty drls,so it questions how well there made if they cant make a led last more than 2 or 3 years.Just an observation.
Personally I've had lots of good experience with the brand. Haven't seen that issue myself
28k GT line and no auto climate control? My i10 has auto climate, bit stingy! Looks nice otherwise though.
WLTP killing the price of cars
Sporty to drive but sorry, doesn't look dramatic enough to convince. The interior suffers from the same problem.
Needs a bit more design flair. Not too much but just enough to pique your interest.
Rather disappointed Kia. I am a fan of theirs (particularly after Stinger - wow!) but this needs more spice.
Off topic: Bob have you driven the Hyundai i30 Fasrback N, yet?
clarkson said the panamera looked like a dog having a shite this is a similar shape!!
who listens to that buffoon?
So they cut cost on sound proofing..? Such a shame...would have this over the Octavia but to travel in on longer motorway journeys the Skoda will be super quiet compare to Kia..
My mate has brand new Ceed and i did 2 hour journey in the back seat and dear lord..it's bouncy and loud just nowhere near the Germans)CZECH
iZotope RX Editor to fix audio problems. This video should give you an idea. ruclips.net/video/Sfxj_-5IGjM/видео.html
Cheers Chris!
Comes with three free Leprechauns for the Irish market......
Couldn't get the Leprechauns a visa to work in Korea so they are only available in Ireland.
@@BobFlavinVideo Maybe the Leprechauns could get into Korea as refugees...I feel that they are oppressed....then take all the Koreans jobs....hehe
The back lookes so like a Porcha
Road noise would annoy me. Interior looks good. Back like a Porsche.
The money you pay for a car is outrageous.
Lovely exterior design but the interior lets it down so much, black hard plastics everywhere and looking generally dated
Did you say 140hp? Did they have to go out of their way to make less hp? AMG shooting brake looks on the outside. Is there a better engine elsewhere in other markets. Maybe they can save it with that. The looks are saying at least 200-220hp, minimally. Epic mistake.
There's a more powerful one in the UK (1.6l 201bhp GT), so depending on Brexit, we'll be able to import that..
Awesome! That's a relief. Good luck exorcising the liberals!
That's decent for a family car. It must be fairly light.
30 mpg is pretty good. 1.6l Fusion I drove got 22.5-23-5. NA 2.5l 4 cyl. Fusion got 26-27.5. I get 22 out of a 25 year old 2.5l 6 cyl, and it's a lot more fun. Some claim they could get 33mpg out of that Mazda engine with a turbo, with light driving.
We're ready for the next automotive revolution, where Climate change is finally declared the hoax that it is, and cars will be made for "car people" again. 50-60mpg, is there someone you can sue for cruel and unusual?
This guy talks like gypsy played by Brad Pitt in "Lock, stock, and two smoking barrels"...lol
So when you say it's a car of "two halves" does that mean you and your side kick have done a "cut n shut" on it Bobby boy ???😁
We might just build our own Kia Proceed from a Hyundai Pony and a Tiida 😂
Looks like they copied the back of a porsche panamera
Patrick Monahan no , Kia and Hyundai used that taillights since 90 s
Looks like a rip off merc/audi/bmw/and a few others in the mix. Shame they don’t have their own identity
This is the first pro-ceed I don’t like.
