Yup, big boats big problems, nuff’ said😮💨 A good performing multi hull , trimarans more so, you can bear off 20 gain a little speed then head up 30 and really take advantage of the increaed apparent wind boost! Hot! My friend with his lightened 44 st Francis figures when he has to put electric halyard winches on its time to give up! But You certainly know it when you get the big main up. Sheet winches never need electric. Yes, sailing decent catamarans is all about letting the auto helm do the work and put your skills to work trimming sails, flying chutes, navigating , all this double helms, fly bridge nonsense is nothing but weight and windage, performance killers. Smaller mono’s , stick to the fun island hopping, unless you are that massocistic you want to beat your self up for 10-20 days on long passages ….. yes you can do it but why? Sounds like you are getting some great perspectives and ‘balance’ Let’s Go baby Cheers Warren
Just a you tube sailor here ,(if there is such a thing) sailing zingaro moved away from cats 🤔. No doubt pros and cons for each..... So great to see another vid from you, thank you!
Yup, always repairs to do. Sailing Zatara just blew out an 8 thousand dollar sail. Paradise requires a lot of effort and money. I have seen videos of Cats doing 50 knots. Crazy!!
One of your best videos! Btw..I don't know you ,but, feel you are totally ,emotionally recovered. It feels good! Speaking from experience...just sayin.
HEy or is it Hay, Joel, when one of the fairly famous sailing channels, in fact , the most famous, got their CAT, they took it out and sailed at 20 plus ! It was light and no groceries on board yet ! Scared both of them ! By the way Joel, your not the only one to say that real sailing happens on Mono's . To find out how far this can be taken, read a bunch about the GGR Golden Globe Race !
I own two yachts and there's ALWAYS something wrong with them... whether you're aware of it or not. When you begin to accept that, you'll become more rational and accepting of that lifestyle.
Hello from Ontario Canada- while I’m not a multi-hull guy, I did enjoy this video Joel, your excitement was palpable:-)
