Love John’s facial expressions. Gentle Giant is incredible
I love that Gary mentions Steve Morse!
"For Nobody" is one of my top GG tracks! And it´s so cool to see and hear these reactions from Weathers!
I always loved Gary's guitar playing. One of my fave!
Underrated to the max, Gary Green rules!!
Damm great to see both of them-please dont tease us with only 2 minutes worth i want more
Love GENTLE GIANT....I only saw them once in 1980 7th row at the CALDERONE on LONG ISLAND, NY. It was one of the best shows and most memorable of the hundreds of shows I've seen.
Gentle Giant... Excelente, esses caras são incríveis... Ainda hoje ouvirei meu vinyl Three Friends.. Obrigado pela ótima música... Cheers from 🇧🇷
More pleeeeeaaase! Such a short tease. I’d love to hear more of John and Gary’s comments!
When listening to the a cappella sequence I thought up an answering machine message to the tune of this song.:
“Everyone’s gone. There is nobody ho-o-ome.
Please leave a message after the tone.
When we return, we will give you a ca-a-all.
So leave your name and your number!”
The idea was to drop the band in just after and fade it out before the machine’s beep.
(Never actually recorded it.)
C'est encore et toujours de la merveilleuse musique! Merci
Gentle Giant greatest Rockband of all Times although there are several.
This performance was simulcast on local Atlanta radio station 96 Rock, WKLS. I made sure I had a metal cassette ready to go and captured the entire show. The first couple of songs, the mix wasn't quite right, but they got it sounding good by the second tune. Ray kept calling the Agora Ballroom the "Angola."
i'd gladly pay you for a copy of that tape 😃
You must of probably meant derek shulman not ray kept calling it the angola because of all the times i have seen or heard the band i didnt see or hear any of the other band members talk on the mic with exception of john weathers when he announced/presented the intro for the song funny ways.
Going to GG starting in ‘71 (I think lol) here in the Los Angeles area was a highlight of my teens.
Those that know about GG KNOW!! We have an FM station , KNAC, here in LA/Long Beach whose dj’s played all variations of new and or Prog rock. GG in the early 70’s had a strong audience on our west coast because of that station (probably others elsewhere). That same station broke Blue Oyster Cult, Groundhogs, Budgie, Tangerine Dream, most all the Krautrock German bands, and other extremely obscure prog acts from overseas. Do I mention they were the first to play Genesis? GG was so popular to listeners of that station that they would play whole record sides. As many may lament, I certainly ‘miss those days’ when it wasn’t hate metal, masterbatory ‘shredding’ etc. Instead, mastery of instruments along with unique styles and structures of writing and playing was king. All analog.
Sorry to say, but when I read “masturbatory shredding” I can only think in one band. Yes, DT.
Pugwash is so legendary 😅
Love, Love, Love Gentle Giant ❤️☮️
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍!!!!!
🔥
The band was hot on this tour. Why no better live footage?
Way to go Gary Green! Hope all is well. DMK
Great
Wow, I was at the Agora show. Courtesy of Lee Abrams
what'd he say? the agora ballroom in atlanta 1990? how the freaking hell i missed that show i'll never know but i am damned sorry i did. one of my favorite bands of all time and the only bass guitar player i ever thought paralleled the greatness of chris sqyire of yes
Love chris squire but ray shulman is my favorite bassist and without a doubt the most criminally underated of all time, Just the fact he was in or was part of the greatest band ever puts him at the top of the mountain.
£452 on Amazon. 5 x double albums at say £35 = £175 plus book and box housing I reckon £250 max. I might buy at that price (I'm a huge GG fan) but not £452, disappointing as the sound on this video sounds great, sadly I'm passing on this madfish
You can tell Pugwash misses it :)
Avete fatto un eccellenete lavoro ragazzi! Avete cambiato la mia vita (in meglio)
