I wouldn't be surprised if the brake fluid made it in the intake.

    Thanks for the video!
That master cylinder has been draining into the booster for a while!
When you first mentioned that you couldn't find a leak, I thought, "It's eating it!" Kinda nice to figure things out now and then!
    *Great work!*

Had to remind twice to the removal of the master cyl. I wonder if the fastners were loose ? I saw what looked like rust build up. I never thought bout that until your tutorial.

Nice demo. It's a little disappointing you couldn't just remove and replace the seals. I wonder if they redesigned the interface, it to prevent it from happening again.

Hey bro. Nice video you have for solving this issue. I have the same msg showing up on my dashboard but check engine light is not on when I turn on my 2010 gmc sierra 1500 SLE. I wonder, is it necessarily to be the code C0299 is actually the issue? Would I still be able to scan the vehicle to get the problem code without the check engine turning on?
Please advice as I am concerned about my brake and safety before it turns out a major deal.

I have a 2011 Silverado. The service brakes soon came on in the DIC. I used my scan tool to find the CO299 5A code. I didn't have a smoke tool. Instead I took the vacuum sensor out. I used a small piece of white rope, install the rope and pushed it down into the booster. When I pulled out the rope it was soaked in brake fluid.
Thanks to this video I knew what the problem was and have ordered the replacement parts from O'Reilly. My truck only has the vacuum switch on the booster so I ordered the switch as well. It may have been damaged by the brake fluid in the booster.
Do you have the video of removal and replacement of the booster and master cylinder?
    Thanks again for this video!

Richard I’m soo glad this video helped out. I actually made a quick tip video on this issue. I put a zip tie in it to show the fluid in the brake booster. And as of a video showing the removal of the booster and master cylinder, I stick to more diagnosing videos. Thanks for stopping by

Brake fluid leaving the master cylinder rear into the booster is what caused the booster to leak. I’ve seen them so bad that whenever the customer applied the brakes, the engine would stall due to massive vacuum leak. New booster and master cylinder used to cost a fortune compared to now just like mass air flow sensors used to cost a fortune.

Some times I start by replacing one at a time, and it improves, but end up having to replace them all to finally fix the problem.but yeah it’s always a good idea to make sure fuel press.
