I’ve heard so much about this topic in the last year, I wish I’d known more about it 10 years ago when I was 30! I would have pushed my husband harder for the 3rd kid!

I prefer to follow in the path of Jesus. The perfect man, with the perfect life. Also, I have faith (where obviously some do not), that it is all part of God's ineffable plan - even the declining birth rate.

I get your point - ultimately our hope is in Jesus. This sounds a little more like fatalism however - what will be will be. We are challenged to find our role to play in the ineffable plan not because it won't move forward without us, but because we do not want it too. Sovereignty and personal responsibility are not enemies, but friends.

Not so much fatalism, but turning to Jesus when the writing on the wall. We haven't learned from history, and are repeating it. The conditions of the Roman Empire prior to its fall in birth rate below replacement have already been fulfilled, including the increasing gap between rich and poor, and corrupt leaders etc, then the fall in birth rate, then the collapse of society.
If you do the same things again, why do you expect a different result? What evidence do you have that simply telling people to have more children will achieve anything, when it hasn't worked before, anywhere?
