I was one of the graphic designers on One Piece. Thank you So much for paying attention… there are so many Easter eggs that didn’t my make the cut or are in the far distance, so it’s great to see someone trying to find them. Thank you!!
Tbh I bet the people who worked on this are so thankful you took the time to make this because I’m sure they wanted as many people as possible to see their hard work in putting in Easter eggs for people to find. You made it so simple and I can not wait to re watch this first season again and see how many I can find.
Right? There's so much detail into this show! I've been easter egg hunting as well, and there's just so MANY. It's come to a point where whenever there's a notice board, I pause to check xD From the top of my head, I found bounties, an ad for chimney-cleaning Tontattas(?)m the Revolution Army on the newspaper when Kaya was looking at Usopp in Luffy's wanted poster, and Sanji's recipe from Shokugeki no Sanji-the Tomahawk Lobster. There's a whole lot more but I can't remember them atm xD
Another thing to add - Alvida facing a mirror was a nod to an SBS question in which someone asked if there's a mirror in Alvida's ship and Oda answered it's such a dangerous question.
@@CHICKENmcNUGGIESMydude It stands for Shitsumon o Boshū Suru, or "I'm Taking Questions" which is a Q&A segment that Oda includes at the end of volumes.
@@CHICKENmcNUGGIESMydude and to add to the explanations you've got, it's considered extra canon. They are mostly tidbits but there's pretty funny and interesting stuff, like Buggy's hat tassles being his actual hair parted in two ponytails.
A couple of details you didn't add: - When Coby and Luffy are in the tavern discussing how to break into the Marine base, Luffy suggests that they could fly over the walls by grabbing a bird, which is most likely a reference to what happens in the manga at the very beginning of the Orange Town arc - In the bird's eye view of Shells Town, if you look at the very top of the Marine base, you can spot Morgan's statue that was destroyed in the manga. Both these scenes have been cut, but it's cute that they still took the time to add the references in as easter eggs for the fans!
I think it is not an accident that Nami's first line in the series is "Help me." Also, there's a funny blooper that made it to the final cut. After Morgan grabs Luffy's fist and flings him into Zoro, there's a scene where Zoro does a diving roll to get past Morgan. As he finishes the roll, you can clearly see the sheathed Wado Ichimonji get bent into a 90° angle.
Next to the shipwreck at 2:29, you can also see a landmass on the map that looks to be Alabasta, too. It has the right shape and stream going through the center of the nation. It’s great that they’re thinking this far ahead to make a coherent structure to the world at large; not just the first season and East blue.
@@Fliiesi don't think it's Upper Yard because why would a landmass that is in the sky and had been there for the last 400 yeas depicted on a sea chart that was released quite recently with Kong being the fleet commander? It would just be a misleading

It also seems like Zoro saying he prefers "number 1" could be referencing the gag that zoro does a few times like in return to sabaody where he totes how he was first and remembers everyone else's order number. Zoro does stuff like that a few times in the manga/anime lol
I thought it was clever how they focused on how valuable the "Gum-Gum" fruit was. Shanks concern was focused more on "You ate THAT fruit" as opposed to how in the source material, Shanks' concern is more geared toward a child shouldn't have eaten a devil fruit. Seemed like a subtle nod toward the true value of that fruit.
For Nami’s drawings, the drawing on the right side is a depiction of Wano Country, and the mountain as well as the capital castle. The left is a depiction of Zou (Giant walking elephant island) and the whale tree.
You put a ton of work into this, I'm shocked with how many easter eggs I missed. I literally have watched every episode of the anime and read all of the manga and I STILL missed a good amount of easter eggs. Well done!
The actor Alvida asks about Zoro and then kills is called Paul Snodgrass he sadly passed away before seeing this show air he has also played in Black Sails in the first episode ive met him years before
I Just CANNOT get over HOW GOOD The News Coo looks in Live-action. . . Seeing how good a Live-action News Coo looks; makes me VERY cautiously Optimistic about Chopper potentially looking good as well later down the line. . .
I watched this show twice, the first time with a critical view and the second time as a long time one piece follower. I got to say the difference is quite substantial. This is definitely a love letter to one piece fans and Oda san, for this amazing journey. As for the visual effects, I would say they went a bit more tame on the blood and injury the characters take, I wish that part is a bit more similar to the original.
You missed with the roger’s poster where at the beginning there was little torn piece between L n D , we know at first SAGA, ROGER’s name was GOLD ROGER but later on we were explained that he was a clan of D from the source Material
Like I said at the start and have mentioned in my other breakdowns when people bring this up, I am avoiding discussing big reveals such as this one so people who haven’t gotten that far will be able to maintain that experience. The show wishes to preserve this as well as they refer to him as Gold Roger
18:20 I think you missed a reference here. First what you said "I get inside by flying" and second, "by grabbing to a bird or something" is a reference to the time he tried to grab a bird to eat it but the bird grabs him instead and flies away with him (Chapter 8) it's also the way he ends up meeting Nami in the manga. So the timing is also perfect cuz she meets her in this episode of the live action. Also the Nami boat scene happened in the manga right after the bird scene. Meanwhile in the live action the Nami boat scene happened first and then Luffy makes the bird reference right after. It's definitely not a coincidence.

I honestly don't know if it was intentional but Nami's crew number is 3 since she was the overall third member behind Luffy and Zoro. Back in the day, people used to argue whether she was 3 or 4 because she "technically' didn't join until after Arlong Park. Oda eventually clarified some time in an SBS after Robin joined.
@@lohjutsulegend From my understanding Sanji was always 5 regardless of Nami leaving or not. People used to argue about her and Usopp's placement because even though she came back after Arlong Park, the consensus was that she and Usopp were there before Sanji. Personally, 3 or 5 makes sense. I always had her at 3 from the jump. It was just easier to understand for me lol
16:20 Kinda reminds me of the time where they went to look for the dragon's nest during the warship island arc. There was an island they found that had a bunch of ruins. The picture on the left kinda reminds me of that island.

Another note for the news coo scene, when Luffy said he want 10 men in the crew, he also said "10 men and a bird". Considering that Oda supervise this, maybe this is a foreshadow of Vivi & Karoo to rejoin the Strawhats in the future.
Well there is that possibility, I know the original interpretation when he said 10 crew members was including himself. But if he actually meant 10 crew BESIDES himself then yeah that would leave room for vivi to rejoin

I think the hat and collar poster you pointed out looks like another cavendish poster! The hat looks the same. Also because Mihawk is already a warlord atp I don’t think he would have a poster. I love the cavendish poster inclusion since canonically he’s butthurt that he became known roughly a year before the worst generation really kicked off so they overshadowed him so here we have his wanted poster showing that he has a bit of notoriety before the worst generation becomes super notorious. Very cool attention to detail from these producers!!!

When I first saw the ruins on 16:15 I thought it was Shandora. When the teams finds Shandora it's abandoned and taken over by the greenery and this is drawn in its ideal state before they find out what's become of it. I might be off, but I think that's where they find one of the poneglyphs and the gold bell where Roger wrote his name.
Great video! Not sure if any of the comments mentioned "Crock-O-Mom" who was in front of Smoker at Roger's execution. She definitely has the same swag and based on what we hear later from Ivankov about Crocodiles secret... This could be a big manga hint!
16:20 Reminds me of the thing with a lot of dragons, and its hard to get into the island. It was about a girl and a dragon. It was a filler episode in the anime.
The scene with Helmeppo in the nude was also a clear omage to Silence of the lamps, where the evil psycho is standing in front of the mirror in the nude... also you could have mentioned the poster of Captain Hina (Hina is furious!).
17:52 I think, this isn't Mihawks Wanted poster, I think this is Cavendishs Poster again, because the hat has this pattern and line on it, wich is seen on the Manga Panel few Seconds ago (17:49). These hats look quite familiar. And the poster matches the other Cavendish poster when you put them together. And the hat on the "hidden" poster doesn't look anything like Mihawk's
Idk if this is an Easter egg but my first thought it was. When Mr. 7 met zoro and was talking to him. Zoro said his favorite number was “1” to which made me think Mr. 1. I’m not sure if I’m looking to much into it or others had the same thought :) Awesome video and I can’t wait to see the rest!
So they did add jango. What a missed opportunity to not include him captain kuros crew. I would’ve loved to have seen him in action it would’ve been funny as hell. I totally missed his wanted poster.
Smoker being the one that is chasing after Baraque Works? That is an interesting idea, and I think you are correct. Even if they had more episodes there would have been 0 chance of introducing smoker this season. It just doesn't make sense to introduce new characters after the climax of the season. But having him chasing Baraque Works would be a great way to include him, and work him well into the plot of the next season.

The scene with Helmeppo in the nude was also a clear omage to Silence of the lamps, where the evil psycho is standing in front of the mirror in the nude... also you could have mentioned the poster of Captain Hina (Hina is furious!).
Weird how many people instantly got Mihawk and Shanks but didn't recognize Kid Smoker.
Great video dude.
Just finish watching the whole series. I tried to check any hidden eater eggs and thanks to this I knew I miss a lot.
Brilliant work
16:30 i thought about the whale that is on top of the tree in zou^^
Not sure if anyone has said this yet, but the baroque works calling card symbol looks like the shadowloo flag from street fighter!!
Awesome video!!!
Impressive!! The effort!

For me it looks like Wano, then Shandora Ruins and the 'Dolphin' i think is the Whaletree on Zunesha.
They did sooo good with this show I’m so proud!
Wasn't Smoker the one in the post credit scene? Episode 8
@@edenvictoriapedige3984 Yes he was. But teasing a character in a post credit scene, is not the same as introducing him.
15:24 I think it's Zou with the whale tree and the other one is Wano.
17:53 I think it's not Mihawk wanted poster, looks like Ace hat.
In one of the wide shots of shells town, you can see on top of the marine building Morgans statue, like in the Manga and Anime
Could be stretch but the left drawing in Nami’s book kinda reminds me of Boa’s castle on Amazon Lily, it even has the cliff behind it
