I'm 70 years old and I'm determined to learn ASL. In the last couple of months I learned about 110 word, plus phrases like, My name is, hoe are you, nice or good to see you, etc, numbers and alphabet.
I watch RUclips videos every morning and every night before bed.

My dad lost his hearing in one ear when he was little and now that he’s getting a little bit older he’s going completely deaf.. it’s a little bit scary but your channel has been so helpful, thank you so much!!

Sorry that your dad is starting to lose his hearing, don't worry, it'll be okay. Same thing happened to my father-in-law a few years ago. I'm glad my videos are helpful, keep on learning :)

Even tho I’m young, I want to learn this because i want to talk to those who are deaf or are hard of hearing. I feel bad because most don’t know ASL. I just started practicing ASL today but I have been making progress. 🖤

I appreciate your calming and encouraging energy Chris! I want to support the deaf community by doing my part in learning basic signs. I want to be confident from now on, that my place of employment will have at least one person who can try to help communicate. I have learned from friends and online videos that going to everyday places can sometimes be difficult for the deaf community due to a lack of ASL knowledge. I don't want to contribute to this difficulty.
