I was replacing existing concealed hinges, where one cracked. I found the same basic hinge size and configuration at HD and Lowe's but then there was this "overlay" measurement, and I had NO clue what it was about!! Your video helped. Thanks!

I have an older house the overlays are not the same, they range from 3/4" to 1". Do I need to buy each individual hinge exactly matching the overlays on my cabinet or can I buy all 3/4" overlay hinges and they will work just fine? Thanks,

You don't need to mark your cabinet. Just extend your tape a few inches and, holding it horizontally, open the door a crack, slide the measuring tape up below the lower hinge, hook the tape onto the inside face of the face frame, close the door, and read the tape where it appears from behind the door. This method also, importantly, results in fewer compounding errors.
